Bayo! A&J Prep! Roopville!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:20 pm

A little over 1/2″ of rain yesterday.
w

Sad news this morning. I got various texts and voice mail that my dear brother Bayo Otiti had died this morning.
s
I still don’t have the exact cause, but I think it was probably a complication due to the surgery he had related to his eye. I know he’s in a better place. I felt happy that his last years working with us were the “happiest in my life.” It’s great to see someone enjoy ministry as much as he did. And when his wife came to join him in ministry his life really seemed to be complete.

Met up with Ashley and Jesse for lunch.
s
s

I bought Ashley a piece of cake to take home.
s
Always good. We went to the Dollar Tree to pick up supplies for the Outreach Event with Crosspoint church tomorrow.
s

I love my children!
s

Then went to Roopville Road Baptist Church this evening for the initial night of the conference.
s
s
It’s about a hour and a half away from my house. Pretty long drive. Good night and lots of good contacts.
s
s

Good to meet Dan Dockery, he’s the Associational Missionary.
s

Haven’t felt well today. Been coughing. Voice is really rough. Today marks 45 days straight of work with two days off. Those two days I was sick and had a bad back.

Going to rest early this evening.

We have to meet the team at 9:30am tomorrow morning. Briefing and outreach, then drive back to Roopville for the conference Saturday. I’ll spend the night at a family’s house tomorrow, that’s always kind of marginal sleeping. Then multiple services on Sunday including Sunday evening. Hardly a restful time.

Always something interesting to see.
s

Close parking may be my only perk.

New Book! Midway Macedonia! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:47 pm

Last night I officially started working on my new book, “The RIGHT Way to Pray.” I wrote the introduction and the first chapter. The thrust of the book is using the right hemisphere of our brain to visualize Jesus rather than just the left hemisphere which just talks and uses logic. I think it will be a fun and very powerful book.

This morning Ashley and I briefed our college team from Midway Macedonia Baptist Church in Carrolton. They were a lively group!
s
s

We had our dedication time, “It’s up to ME” and also signed the landing pad.
s
s
They also received the Golden Egg of EGGcellence!
s

We took them to Plaza Fiesta, Asian Square and the Buford Highway Farmers Market. Good times!
d
s
d
Then over to Azalea to help the kids with their homework.
d
d

Here’s my drawing of a dinosaur for the kids.
s
I enjoyed supper with Jesse this evening.
d
We made our plans and bought our tickets to the UK for the conference we’re going to in May called Change/Phenomena. I will be the host of the conference. I’m looking forward to seeing friend and being with Jesse on that trip.

Kathy went to bed early this evening. She has to start work at 8am tomorrow at the day care center where she works.

I have the morning off, then I’ll travel to Roopville, GA for the start of a missions conference. I’ll have to come home Friday night because I have a team in town Saturday morning. Then I’ll go back to Roopville for the conference and spend the night there. I’ll come back on Sunday night.

Promises to be a fun and packed out weekend.

Today marks 45 days straight without a break except for two days when I was sick and hurt my back. Wow. It’s been a wild spring break!

Erin! Hat! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:02 pm

Ashley and I had fun taking our friend Erin from Grace Fellowship around the International Village.
s
We hope to get Grace helping us again! We visited Plaza Fiesta, Asian Square and the Buford Highway Farmers Market.
s
Went to the mall to pick up a new hat. My old one was pretty beat up. THANKS, Ashley!

Then over to the mission to help the kids with their homework.

Video! Email! Letters! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:15 pm

It’s still cool in the mornings. I wore my new shoes today. First time I’ve ever bought shoes from Amazon.
s

This morning I finished uploading and burning a DVD for the Fellowship Bible Church team. Takes time!
s
s
Then went through all our contact cards from the last month or so and typed up all the addresses and email addresses we had.
s
s
s
I then typed up labels for the snail mail addresses to put on our newsletter list and for our reFUND MISSIONS donor program.
s

Dropped off the financial report to our treasurer.
s

Ashley helped me put the labels on and write the notes.
s
s

Went to the Post Office to get the stamps.
s
Also bought some new bins to organize our pens and cards to hand out to the teams that come. I’m always trying to tweak our system to make it better and more efficient.
s

Then got them in the mail.
s

Worked with the kids at the mission.
s
s

Enjoyed supper with Jesse. Then went to Walmart to pick up some supplies for the missions.

I also bought some new short pants. Spring is here! Yeah, baby!

Watched Castle with K.

Plaza Feista! Asian Square! Global Mall! Missions!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:29 pm

Ashley and I briefed our team on Buddhism and Catholicism this morning.

We also had our dedication ceremony where we pass the baton, “It’s up to ME!”
s

And sign the “Landing Pad!”

Went on a Cultural Safari to Plaza Fiesta to see how Central America lives.
s
s

We also had a team from Freedom Church in Alabama come for a pre-site visit. GREAT to have new partners on board!
s
Then to Asian Square.
s
s
s

Finished off the afternoon with India and Pakistan at Global Mall. Fun!
s

The best part is always working with the kids at the missions.
s
s
s
s

Great to see Jesse!
s
Got into the 70s today! First flip flop day of the season. Yeah, baby. The pale feet look.
s

K and I watched some of Le Weekend and Dancing with the stars.

Admin duties now.

I probably don’t need this.

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:12 pm

Ashley and I had fun briefing our team from Fellowship Bible Church this morning at Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Buckhead.
e

We talked about Islam and Hinduism.

Then took them on a Cultural Safari to al Madina.
s
s

The weather was absolutely fabulous, so we went directly to the missions after our safari.
s

s
s
s

They are doing a wonderful job with the kids!

Ashley and I went back to the church to organize our presentation for tomorrow.

Also stopped by Walmart to pick up some printer ink and supplies.

Came home and ran 5.08 miles. Got dark, but the weather so nice, I didn’t care.

VA Tech! Asian Square! Plaza Fiesta! Car!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:50 pm

Ashley and I had a fun time briefing our team from Virginia Tech this morning! Always love Bubbleation!
s
s

We shared about Catholicism and Buddhism.
s

After our commitment service, we took them to Asian Square.
s

And over to Plaza Fiesta!
s

Great to have Kathy with us this morning!
s

Then I went Crossroads Community Church of Dunwoody to try and find a charger one of the team members from Brookhaven Church had left. While I was there, I had a very interesting discussion with one of their church members about outreach in the apartment complexes. I’m looking forward to having her participate in our briefing tomorrow with Fellowship Bible Church.

I dropped off some packages and clothes for Jesse at Azalea, then went to Snellville to get the title changed over to my name for Lil’ Red. It’s much cheaper for me to insure the car than for Whirlwind.
s

I ended up having to get the President of my board to also sign the title as a representative of Whirlwind Missions rather than just me. Glad he lived close by!
s
Got my new tag. It reminds me of my Mom: Peggy.
s

Went by Dollar Tree to pick up some supplies for the mission, in particular permanent markers. Tried to find more name tags. They were out.
s

Took Kathy out to eat this evening.

Then went to Sports Academy to check on shoes. Ended up buying K some flip flops. The shoes I wanted I got on line from Amazon. Should have thought of that first.
s
I took a picture so I could zoom it in and try and make out the writing. My camera also serves as a microscope!

I edited the video I shot of VA Tech this evening. It’s one of the final pieces of hosting a team.

Enjoyed watching Elementary with K.

Admin duties now. Start with a new team tomorrow!

The team left a nice note for me at Azalea!

VA Tech! Hindu Temple! Hong Kong Supermarket! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:06 pm

Edited and uploaded video from the Brookhaven team last night before I went to bed.
s
s

Ashley and I enjoyed briefing our team from VA Tech this morning.
s
s

We visited the Buford Highway Farmers Market.
s
I met up with my partner Derrick Posten. I needed to sign some forms for him as his supervisor.
s
Then we took them to the Hindu Temple.
s
It’s the third largest in the world and the largest in the USA. It’s a work of art.
s
s
s

We had some time left before the mission, so we also visited the Hong Kong Supermarket. It’s a cool place.
s

Then to the mission!
s
s
s

Ashley worked on another assignment, while I hosted the team at Azalea.
s

They did a great job!

Ate a burger at 5 Guys on the way home.

Also stopped by the ATT store to ask about getting my new phone. I’m on a new program now where I trade in my old phone and get the new model every year. Turns out to be a good financial deal and I get to use the newest technology.

Came home to watch the “Lunchbox” with K. It was a movie set in Mumbai, India. We liked it.

Admin duties now and rest.

My eye is doing better. Still very red, but doesn’t really hurt. My vision was always pretty good even directly after the injury.

Beauty.

Eye trauma! Brookhaven! Plaza Fiesta! VA Tech!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:44 pm

Woke up a lot last night. Every time my eye was kind of sealed with crustiness. Cleaned it all off this morning in the shower. Hurt a bit but overall seemed better. PTL. My vision seems just fine. Sure was glad it just grazed my eyeball!

Ashley and I had a fun time briefing our team from Brookhaven BC, Mississippi. Sadly, our team from VA Tech had the church where they were staying in broken into and some of their stuff was stolen, including an Apple computer. Hate that.

We gave our briefing on Catholicism and had our commitment service.
s
s
I passed around the picture of Jesus for them to talk to. I’m doing a lot to try and personalize and make real the person of Jesus.
s

Passing the baton: “It’s up to ME.”
s

And signing the landing pad.
s

We gave the team leaders the “Golden Egg of Eggcellence.”
s

Then off to Plaza Fiesta. Love that place.
s
s
Always something interesting to see.
s
s
s
They were a great team. Hope to have them back SOON! I really enjoyed getting to know their leadership.
s
Never too much Ashley.
s

Ash and I went to meet up with our VA Tech team at FBC Doraville.
s

They helped us get out our special edition newsletter: reFUND MISSIONS! Please pray that people will give generously. My goal is to raise the total needed for our insurance bills: $37,080.00 That’s a ton of money, but the Father clearly told me, “You don’t get because you do not ask.” I’m hoping that it will be easier for people to donate when they have money back from the government.

I took them on a quick safari of the Buford Highway Farmers Market.

Then to the mission at Azalea. They did a great job. They helped with homework and then had a craft and told a Bible Story.
s
s
s
s
s
s

Came home to eat supper with Jesse and Kathy. Haven’t had enough time with either of them. Too busy and trying to get to sleep early.

Admin duties now.
