PEK! Monkey Bar Park! Briarwood Pool! Bank! 7.11.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:15 pm

OYB!

Español!

Took the girls to McDonalds.

Miles’ Mom has her birthday today! One day before mine.

We had fun at the Monkey Bar Park. I make everything as difficult as I can. So all the toys take on much different meanings. Like hopping from one thing to another on one leg. Or climbing on the outside of things or up poles.

No hands.

Extra stretch.

I have nature identification apps.

A lot of things I have them do involve balancing. Like on this roller or on a slack chain ladder. No hands.

We call it the “Monkey Bar Park” for a reason. Great upper body workout.

Hop rock.

Constant balanced movement is my goal for them. None of this stuff is designed for how we’re using it.

Climbing this fence was rigorous.

I try to be strict with numbers.

Picked up mail, processed checks and deposited them. Thank you, Father for your concern and care for me. Amen.

From the bank to Briarwood Pool.

We enjoyed 1.5 hours at the pool primarily swimming laps. We got out and dried off and a siren went off making everyone get out of the pool because of storms nearby. Not THAT close, but don’t mess with lightning.

My plumeria is flowering! What a blessing. I hope that some of them will have their fragrance.

Progress comes from consistent work.

Plants! Car! PEK! Anthony! 7.10.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:23 pm

Vocabulario!

Watered my plants.

OYB!

Setting up doctor’s appointments for my Mom. We need to fill out some forms. Got started on them this afternoon.

Ashley helped me swap the mattress and the foam pad to make it easier for Nana to get around on her bed.

My plumeria is starting to flower. I hope it has a beautiful smell!

Español!

Fun chat with my buddy, Anthony.

We had some sprinkles. Cooled us off a bit.

Substantial storms missed us.

Got a new pair of goggles for Penelope. They’ll probably be a spare pair.

Worked on getting my reimbursement checks together. Mainly they’re for internet and mileage.

I have a meeting with my treasurer Jon Paul next week. We’ll go over these reports and he’ll sign my checks.

Got my new shoulder bag in. All the zippers on my old bag eventually broke off.

Kathy got my car cleaned for my birthday.

We ate lunch at Burger King while we waited.

Working on an occupational therapist coming to visit my Mom to see how she’s getting around and advice on anything she could improve on.

Back and forth during the day.

Talked with Mint Mobile about my Mom’s phone. They told me it could take 72 hours to transfer from the previous provider.

Did Nana’s laundry.

Español! PE! iPhone 13 mini! 7.9.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:32 pm

I hate getting water in my ears. I usually use the wax ear plugs. I’m going to give these swimming plugs a chance.

The grandgirls had fun playing Candy Land with Nana last night.

I pay attention to these lists.

OYB!

Love my girls! Glad the air mattress worked.

Español!

I got a new folding table. My Mom needs my old one. Works for me. The new one is much lighter, but not as strong. She needs a strong one and I need a light one. Amen.

I’ve been in correspondence with team members about doing service projects. I don’t like those things. It’s not working with people which is the bottom line of missions.

Ordered groceries.

I set up an appointment with the doctor. Need a colon rectal exam. I haven’t gone to the doctor but once in the last five years. They have to do a “new patient” evaluation again.

I spent a couple of hours this morning working with Mint Mobile to get a phone account for my Mom. We were able to transfer her house number from Georgetown, Texas to her new cell phone. That’s pretty cool. The number she’s had for so long stays with her. It’s the one all her friends know.

I almost fell for this scam. They had my cell number and sounded completely legit. But fortunately, I realized there was a problem. So they got nothing out of me. I let Xfinity know about the scam. They were aware of it they just hadn’t told us. Thanks a lot.

So hot.

K and I took the girls out for Metro.

I got my Mom a travel sized Listerine bottle. The other one was heavy for her.

Don’t stop.

PE! Lazy River! Birthday Week! Contacts! 7.8.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:40 pm

I’ve enjoyed having this shot from my favorite breakfast place in San Marco de la Laguna.

Jessi is making my birthday week special. 67 is coming up fast.

Nana was happy when J got the new sheets on her bed!

OYB!

Mileage! 651 miles. Printed it up.

Español!

Dried out swim clothes.

Vocabulario.

Picked up the girls this morning. They weren’t aware they were spending the night with me. I made them put together a check list when they were with me last time. They are making sure they have everything.

We enjoyed Bojangles for breakfast and White Windmill for treats.

Lazy River at noon. We also swam a lot of laps in the inside pool.

El T for lunch with K. I was exhausted after all those laps.

Always great to meet new people interested in doing ministry here!

Put a mat down in my kitchen door area. Retaped part of the carpet holder.

Contacted my Mom’s physical therapist.

Let one of my partners know I wasn’t interested in hosting construction or service projects.

Keep going.

PE! Waffle House! Briarwood Park! Insurance! 7.7.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:55 pm

Another zipper broke off of my shoulder pack. Ordered a new bag. It has served me well.

The video coming out of these floods is unbelievable.

I’m enjoying learning the fretboard.

OYB!

Came in fourth. She made great effort and inched me out at the last minute. That kind of work deserves to win.

It’s so hot.

I did some research on the parks in our area that have pools. We went to Briarwood Park once last year, but just looked at the pool. This time we swam and had a lot of fun.

Picked up, processed and deposited checks. Thank you, Father!

I got a bill from our insurance company that I thought I had paid. Interfaced with our agent to figure it out. Turns out there were actually two bills for the two types of coverage we need. I talked with her over the phone and she typed in the card info. Everything is set. Ironically, I’ve been out of the mission for months because of the flooding of a couple of the residents.

Gassed up my car and checked the oil.

Man, that’s the truth.

It’s been hot and dry. Gave my front yard ornamentals some water.

My plumeria will flower soon. So exciting.

Another week begins.

Shower Chair! Flooding! Podcast! 7.6.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:31 pm

OYB!

We are continuing to make progress on making our house comfortable for Nana. Today, I put together the shower chair for her. She loved it!

Español!

Hot day.

The flooding in Texas has been terrible. Kerrville was the epicenter of the damage, but Georgetown where I went to high school was also badly flooded.

I’ll come in third this week.

Cleaned and refilled the bird baths and hummingbird feeders.

Taped down the carpet in my garage.

Recorded and released a new episode of Verbal Surgery called “The Weight of Hate.”

Chair! Bananas! Optimum Land Line! 7.5.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:57 pm

The girls had fun watching fireworks.

I hope we sweep them.

Picked up groceries.

OYB!

Trying some insect control spray. Hope it helps the roses.

Español!

I tried to fix up the shower chair. Cleaned and painted it. Then I found some cracks! Epoxied those, but still decided to get another chair after all that. My Mom needed one with arms anyway.

X-ray of the IM rod in my Mom’s femur.

The new leaf on my banana plant is enormous!

I’m using a lot of this stuff. It works and isn’t horrible.

Talked to the internet provider for the land line at my Mom’s house. I’m working on transferring my Mom’s home number to her new cell phone.

Close.

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:00 pm

Dried out the swim clothes from yesterday and put them in individual bags in the swim bag.

OYB!

Español!

Had a great time at Ashley’s house for Cheryl’s and my birthday!

We got the Physical Therapist scheduled for tomorrow. That’s great news.

Jessi got burned by scalding coffee. I went to Walmart to get aloe gel and gauze.

Ordered groceries for Nana.

Still in the race.

Garmon! UPS! PEK! 7.3.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:44 pm

Ordered a clothes basket for Nana.

K dropped me off at Garmon’s to pick up my Honda this morning. It needed an oil change.

We enjoyed some ice cream last night.

OYB!

Ordered groceries.

I sent back some shoes, a night light and a hot glue gun to Amazon at the UPS Store.

Went to Lowes to pick up some paint for the shower chair for Nana.

I’m looking forward to checking out Seth Godin’s new book.

Seemed hot.

K and I had fun with the grandgirls at Hot and Cold. They enjoyed the ol’ “Orange Peel In the Mouth” bit.

Fantastic sunset this evening.

My plumeria gets closer to blooming. Unbelievable how happy this makes me. I’ve had this little tree for over ten years now.

Close race.

Sabor! Bed Guard! Gas! Returns! 7.2.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:48 pm

My new iPhone can measure items! I took this picture and specified the length. Came up with 13 2/3″. Which is normally a 14″ size.

Vocabulario.

I talked with the home health people. I gave him the first digit of my Mom’s Medicare card. We also set up a meeting with the teledoc who will oversee her physical therapy.

I’m getting a different coffee cup. I’ve had a series of QT cups over the years. They all start to leak. This one is rated super highly. We’ll see. . . .

OYB!

My Mom’s iPhone 13 mini came in today. I got a screen protector and case for it. I’ve got it on a charge right now. I’ll deal with Mint Mobile tomorrow to get it set up with a new account.

Español!

Jessi added Nana to our Cummins Home thread. Always good to have everyone in the know.

The black spot is gone but there is some type of insect eating it. I’ll keep applying Neem oil.
