Life Insurance! Josh! Roof! PEK! AZ! 1.8.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:26 pm

Worked on updating the beneficiaries for my Mom’s insurance with the IMB. Filled out the form and sent it back to the IMB this morning.

Screenshot

Erick let me know that his guys were coming to my house this morning. They started working without me knowing. I talked with them to clarify what I wanted done. They left without saying adios. I reckon they were really busy. They did a good job on the roof and gutters.

Changed the rate for J’s phone to the whole year.

Vocabulario.

OYB!

Light jacket weather.

Screenshot

Still dealing with the poison ivy. Itches so bad sometimes. Ay, caramba.

Talked with Pastor Josh about his team coming,

Español!

Screenshot

I heard from Ms. Jones from Huntley Hills. She helps me tutor the kids at the Mission.

Screenshot

Quick chat with my buddy, Anthony.

Screenshot

I registered my Mom to vote.

Called Metro Cafe about their cakes for my Mom’s birthday. A whole cake is $110. Seemed steep.

Screenshot

I went through a long menu of prompts before I finally got someone to talk to about Kathy’s CT Angiogram test results. We continue to work on getting her some help. We had some good news, her previous lung doctor is with Devoted health insurance. So he’s in our network.

Screenshot

K and I helped the kids at the Mission.

I’m helping her learn English, her letters and numbers.

This sunset shot is one of the best I’ve taken in a while. I had no idea how good it was at the time. It was so bright.

My roof/gutter man is coming over tomorrow. I put a check for him on my garage door.

Motivated students this week. I’ve had so much stuff going on this week I’m surprised I’m doing this well.

Matt! Podcast! Newsletters! PEK! Azalea! 1.7.26

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:39 pm

Did some research on my brother’s flight to the ATL on the 16th.

Screenshot

Doing my due diligence on Wills and Trusts. I need to make sure that my Mom’s affairs are in order. We certainly don’t know what to do. I’m looking for someone to help.

Screenshot

OYB!

Had a good chat with my buddy Matt Slemp. He’s the new Worship Leader at FBA. He’s bringing a group of elementary students to sing at Plaza Fiesta.

Screenshot

Español!

Screenshot

We are working on the beneficiary forms for my Mom’s account. Just downloaded the form and filled most of it in.

Screenshot

That time of year again.

Screenshot

I recorded my podcast, downloaded it onto my computer and published it onto the web. Put the episode on Facebook.

Trump took pennies away so the Buford Highway Farmers Market is doing this.

I picked up the copies of the newsletter at the church. K and I stuffed the envelopes with them and then I dropped them off at the Post Office in Chamblee.

K and I picked up the girls from the bus and took them to the Buford Highway Farmers Market. They were out of everything I usually eat. Bahd luck.

Worked with the kids at the Mission.

Sunset.

Just keep going.

Feeders! DMV! Insurance! PEK! Azalea! 1.6.26

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:25 pm

OYB!

Matt is the new Worship Leader at FBA. I look forward to talking to him tomorrow. He brought a team to work with me.

Screenshot

Español!

Screenshot

Sent our health insurance agent a text about cancelling the Oscar insurance.

Screenshot

Refilled my bird feeders with suet and bird seed.

I set up the app for Devoted Health on K’s cell phone. We’re looking through the network for new primary care doctors. Our insurance has changed.

I cancelled the DMV registration on K’s truck. Now I wait for the receipt from Kars 4 Kids. The car was towed away on Saturday. Pull A Part has it now.

Screenshot

Talked with Scott Deter about the cancellation of the Oscar coverage for K.

Screenshot

Talked with Oscar insurance and they said I needed to talk to the Georgia Access people.

Talked to the Georgia Access people. They help with insurance issues. They made a request to Oscar Insurance. I’ll call back GA on Friday to see about any progress. I know that Oscar already charged me $320 for this month and had been charging me about $18 a month since last May. If all goes well, I’ll get reimbursed all that money.

Screenshot

We are looking through reviews of the doctors in the Devoted Health network.

Screenshot

Mom and I contacted the IMB about her life insurance policy. We are setting up the beneficiaries for her account.

Screenshot

Bill Morse was a good friend of mine. He had a great voice. We used to sing in the choir together at FBC Georgetown in the 70’s. He was also a Bass.

Screenshot

K and I picked up the girls and took them to a new Asian buffet place. I think it was called Perla. I thought it was pretty good. Girls seemed to enjoy it. Wasn’t great for vegetarians. My main dish was fried rice with hot and sour soup on it.

Huge hot sauce.

Helped the kids at the Mission. We are still outside. It’s been about nine months now. Typical slow government.

He wasn’t feeling well.

Did the laundry.

We are moving K’s Devoted account to her phone number.

Screenshot

Ordered more wax melts. Jasmine.

Screenshot

Keep going. It’s a competition for third.

Chimney! Attic! Vacuum! MPE! 1.5.26

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:02 pm

Came in fourth place last week.

OYB!

Foggy morning in our neighborhood.

Great weather. Nice and cool.

Screenshot

I’m updating my background check with the North American Mission Board.

Screenshot

Vocabulario.

Screenshot

Indeed.

Screenshot

Ordered groceries.

Screenshot

Español!

Screenshot

I bought some new rubber gloves to do wet work in.

Screenshot

I heard back from my gutter guy. Apparently, they’re coming some time on Thursday.

Screenshot

Got back to work this morning. Got all the tools out, took off the tacked-on board and cut the replacement. Everly helped me draw the lines with the T-square and hold boards while I cut them.

The hardest job was getting up into the attic. I had to crawl on the ends of 2×4’s through piles of insulation. Finally got to the hole and filled it with expanding foam. Hopefully, the squirrels won’t eat through it.

Looks better.

The repairs I’ve done in the past seem to have worked.

I filled the gaps between the boards with an expanding foam called, “Great Stuff.”

After it dries, you can cut the extra off.

Then I painted it brown. I gave the boards a second coat as well.

Last part of the job is clean up.

The boards and most of the tools go back downstairs.

Heard back from Scott Deter about J’s health insurance.

Screenshot

Coming up and down the ladder into the attic leaves a mess. Had to vacuum the house.

Took the grandgirls to Sweet Basil for some Thai food. I’m wearing my Christmas present from Ashley. Beauty!

Penelope loved her coconut soup.

Miles came to get them.

Cleaned the vacuum.

Crazy for the Azaleas to bloom in the winter. Just a few blooms, but still!

Ordered a new light bulb for one of my desk lamps.

Screenshot

Pretty evenly matched this week.

Screenshot

Watered my downstairs plants.

Lowes! Podcast! Chimney Repair! Saw! 1.4.26

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:42 pm

Always learning, even if it’s about the Arc Raider maps!

Screenshot

OYB!

Español!

Screenshot

Went to Lowes to pick up some plywood, wood screws, paint and roller.

Clear and cool.

Screenshot

Went to Stone Mountain to record Verbal Surgery. Had technical difficulties and lost the last thirty minutes that I’d recorded. I’ll redo it soon.

I cleaned the dust off of the boards and laid them on my deck table.

Poured the paint into the roller pan and applied it to the plywood.

I took the boards off that I had tacked up to keep the raccoons out.

Got my new Skil Saw in. Worked great. Everly me hold the boards. Indispensable.

I thought it turned out really well.

Put up my tools and cleaned the paint gear.

I take pictures constantly. Today, I took a picture while still having my gloves on. Yes, I took the picture, but I also got paint from the glove on the camera. Wet paper towel to clean it and then high grade lubricant on the moving parts. I also used a lens cleaner kit on it and scrubbed the case. Looking good.

Glad to have the girls back.

Screenshot

I came in fourth place last week. Very studious group.

Ann’s Funeral! 1.3.26

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:13 pm

Rain last night.

Screenshot

Dreary, foggy day.

OYB!

Español!

Screenshot

We had Ann’s funeral today. I spoke about treating others with kindness. Used Ps 23, John 14:1-3. Her brother Bill spoke as well as the daughters, neighbors and many friends.

I actually wore a suit! I have my black Bible with my name on it that I use at funerals. I had mementos from funerals of several friends of mine in the Bible and in my coat pocket of my suit: Bob Speers, Marilee Wells and Carl Barrington were all there. Kinda of weird. My suit fit great, but my shirt was tight around the neck. I still wore a tie! What?!

Pull a Part came to pick up the Expedition at Ann’s house today. I talked with the driver a couple of times. Everything went smoothly.

Screenshot

We had lunch with Kathy’s lifetime friend Karen and her husband Tony. He’s from Wales. Cool guy. Also had Bill and his wife Deborah eat with us.

Just. Keep. Going.

DMV! Regions Bank! Nana! 1.2.26

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:39 pm

Vocabulario!

Screenshot

OYB!

I called PullAPart this morning to schedule the pick up for the 1998 Expedition. They’ll pick it up tomorrow. I left the title and the keys in the car for them to get. Had to give them some information like DL and Title.

Screenshot
Screenshot
Screenshot
Screenshot

Went to Ann’s house to take off the license plate and make sure everything was good to go.

This truck’s helped our family a lot. I’m glad that her last act will be to help kids in need.

Called my insurance agent to cancel the coverage for the Expedition I just donated. I also asked to take off the collision coverage on the Lincoln. Wasn’t worth the price. We have to be smart with our money.

Screenshot
Screenshot

Went to the DMV to drop off the old tag.

Screenshot

Went to Regions Bank and talked with our rep there about the status of our newly opened bank accounts. Someone stole my Mom’s check to Piedmont Hospital last month and created a fake check. We had to cancel that account and start over. That included transferring her Social Security check to the new account number. Everything went perfectly and her checks were deposited correctly. Thank you, Father.

Screenshot

J and I are setting up Zelle so we can transfer money between accounts.

Screenshot

Research on how to make sure that the registration is cancelled with the DMV.

Screenshot

Took Nana for her hair shampoo and dry. I think it’s worth the money to feel good about yourself when you look in the mirror.

Mailed the bills at the Post Office. One stolen check is enough.

I’m officiating at the ceremony for Ann Michell tomorrow. A celebration rather than a funeral service. I asked Chat GPT for some good Bible verses. Nice to have them all in one spot to look up.

Screenshot

Won’t make the top three this week.

Laundry! Post Office! Newsletters! 1.1.26

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:51 pm

Still cold.

Screenshot

OYB!

January 1st! Jessi and I spent the midnight countdown playing Arc Raiders. They had firework boxes we could set off. It looked so cool. All the other players shooting off firecrackers. Virtual festivities!

Screenshot

Español!

Screenshot

I did the laundry and helped organize my Mom’s closet. Time for winter wardrobe.

Wrote and produced my newsletter.

My game Arc Raiders is based on the map of a part of Italy.

Screenshot

Washed the dish clothes and organized the drawer.

Went to Walmart to get envelopes for this month’s newsletter. Ordered more from Amazonfor the rest of the year.

Screenshot

Went to the Post Office to get stamps.

They printed 70 individual stamps. Super slow. At last they warned me.

Printed all the labels and put them on the envelopes. All I need is the photocopies.

Tough group this week. So it goes.

Raccoons! Anthony! 12.31.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:00 pm

Sending info to a prospective team.

Screenshot

We heard sounds coming down the chimney last night. No, not Santa Claus, raccoons! I saw two of them leave through a hole in the siding. I quickly nailed up some plywood to seal the holes. We heard another one and I opened it up again. A third one came out. I put powder down so we could see them leaving or trying to get back in.

Vocabulario!

Screenshot

OYB!

Not quite as cold today.

Screenshot

Called my buddy Anthony in England. Marcus was with him too.

Screenshot

Español!

Screenshot

This morning, I checked on the chimney. The raccoons hadn’t been able to get back in, but they did try and chew through another board. I nailed a board up there as well.

Paw print.

I bought a skill saw so I can cut pieces to protect the chimney.

Screenshot

I contacted one of the towing companies that works for Kars 4 Kids. They told me I had to be there when they picked up the vehicle. I called K4K and told them I needed a company that didn’t require me to be there. I’ll call the other guys on Friday.

Screenshot

K’s health insurance from before she hit 65 wasn’t canceled. I’ll have to figure that out with them when I have K with me.

Some really good students this week. Doubt I’ll be in the top three. No big deal.

Cold! Nana’s Eyes! Bank! Poison Ivy 12.30.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:52 pm

OYB!

Super cold today. I still studied Spanish outside on the porch. Brisk.

Screenshot
Screenshot

I got in touch with our health insurance agent about K not getting her card yet. I called Devoted Health but I needed K to be there with me when I talk to them.

Screenshot
Screenshot

PE and I took Nana to the eye doctor. It was super cold. She seemed to be seeing a little better today. Amen!

Screenshot

Set up another appointment for two months. We already had one for next month. Can’t rush treatment!

Screenshot

Went by FBCD on the way home from the doctor. Picked up checks. Processed and deposited them.

Screenshot

Worked on reimbursement checks: mileage and internet.

I’ve been suffering from my exposure to poison ivy. I kind of forget just how bad it is until I get it again. Horrible.

All of K’s stuff is in the Honda now. I’m working on getting the Expedition donated with Kars 4 Kids.

Screenshot
Screenshot

Looked over some forms for K.

Sent some info to a team leader.

Screenshot

Probably won’t crack the top three this week. We’ll see.
