One Heart! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:35 pm

I enjoyed having lunch with our friends from One Heart Church, Chester and Lindsay. We ate at White Windmill for dessert.

d

This afternoon I also sent my old laptop to a guy in Virginia. He’s also the friend of a friend of mine in London. My friend’s friend will take it back to London from Virginia.
d
Did you know you can’t ship laptops overseas via air?

Then over to the mission to help with the kids!

K and I watched multiple episodes of Grey’s Anatomy. I like all the medical talk.

J! FBC Villa Rica!

Tim A. Cummins @ 12:11 am

Sunday was exciting for us as we celebrated the birth of Katie Mitchell Stiffler’s baby! Believe it or not they still haven’t picked out a name. Wow.

Had a fun lunch with Jesse.
s

Rested.

Enjoyed watching Grey’s Anatomy with K.

Monday morning I met up with Ashley and the team from FBC Villa Rica.
s

It’s always great to meet new folks and take them on safari to the International Village!

d
d
Always something new to see.
s
I guess it’s a Christmas scent. Holly.

After we said kwaheri (good bye) to them, we rambled over to Azalea to work with the kids at the mission.
s

s

Her Santa!
s

I’m helping Rashawn and Danny with their science project.
s

I’m their “Adult Sponsor.” The hardest part is not doing too much. There was a lot of cutting involved with exacto knives and foam board and plexiglass. I did all the dangerous stuff with razor blades.

d

Kathy and I are enjoying watching the final season of the Mentalist.

I run and listen to audio books.
d

I also pick up trash.
s

Kind of a gray day.
s

Ate lunch with Kathy. She paid! I liked the cheesecake.
s

Went to FBC McDonough this evening. I’ve really had this feeling that I needed to talk with my friend Charlie there. It was great to see other friends while I was there too like Austin Aldridge and the Blevins family.
s

Kathy rode with me down there. It was good to have company.

She was exhausted by the time we got back. She went straight to bed.

Banking! A&J! RUMC! NAMB! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:54 pm

Finished up the last of the collation of the bank statements and payroll over the last three years.
s

Now Ashley has the challenge of entering it all into Quickbooks.

I watched more Safari Live from S. Africa while I collated the documents.
s

Met up at the mission for lunch. I enjoyed talking with Ashley’s student at her ESL class. I thought she did great!
s
We finished the last of the items in the mail out and got it into the mail.
s
s

Ate lunch at Perimeter Mall, and let Jesse check out the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 with the Oculus headset.

s
He had fun!

I don’t think he followed the rules.
s

Very warm this afternoon for December!
s

Went to Roswell to check on our church friends at Roswell United Methodist Church. We had a good talk with Mike Phelps who is the Missions Coordinator. I talked to him about our fund raising efforts, he seemed open to the idea. The church has had a major capital fund drive to repair some parts of the building. It’s hard to spread the money around too much when it’s been spent.

Also drove to the North American Mission Board to see friends and also ask for their financial support.
s
s
I think it’s a good time of year to ask, especially if you need the help!

Enjoyed working at the mission with the kids.

Ashley! DBC! PCBC! Oculus!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:02 pm

This morning I worked on collection of the banking records from our files.
s

Printed labels for the newsletter.
s

While I worked on those records, I watched a LIVE stream on the National Geographic channel from Kruger Park in S. Africa. I couldn’t believe it was actually live! Living in the future, baby!
s

The results from my raking yesterday.
s
Had a fun Ashley Day! Woot!

We met up for lunch. While we were at Perimeter Mall, I checked out the Oculus powered headset that fits with the Galaxy Note 4.
s
s
s
s
s

Went by CD Tower to get some new Chinese paper to send with our mailout. I think they’re beautiful.

Then to Dunwoody Baptist Church to talk their Director of Missions about helping us out with a Christmas gift. We want to give the kids in the neighborhoods a great Christmas, as well as help the ministry.

We spent a lot of time in the parking lot returning phone calls. Really interesting conversations with friends in Gainesville and in Memphis, TN.
s

Also got to see my friend Shay at Peachtree Corners Baptist Church. She’s always a blessing.

Dropped by Office Depot to get some envelopes.

Went by the Post Office to get stamps for the newsletter.

Then to the mission to label the newsletters and help the kids with their homework.
s
s
s
s

I got the kids doughnuts. Everyone gets one, whether they help with labels or not. So they always look forward to “sticker day.”
s

Incredibly warm today. The temperature gauge in my car said 74. Wow.

Had a fun supper with Jesse this evening.
s

He was very excited about the prototype Oculus display. Never too much Jesse.

Home now. Kathy was super tired. She went to bed early.

Took me nearly an hour to figure out the label issue this evening. I printed out a three pages of my address labels on 30 sticker paper instead of 20 sticker paper. Bottom line is that most of the addresses were cut off by about 1/3. Bahd luck. So I had to print the three pages of address again and put them on envelopes.

But I had about 15 more blank envelopes than I needed. It was hard to figure out where the count was wrong and which pages were not put on. Ended up having to alphabetize the entire 100 envelopes. When it was all said and done, I found exactly ONE extra. It had a short address and fit on the label, so you couldn’t tell it.

Saturday, K and I enjoyed lunch with Jesse!

Always something interesting to see.
s
s

Went home and watched the Baylor vs Texas Tech football game. Man! Sure am glad we won. Just barely! 48-46.

Worked on collating the bank records and payroll for Whirlwind Missions. Lots of documents to retrieve.

d

I got the parts to fix a chest for Jesse.
s

This morning, K and I enjoyed Westside Baptist Church.

QuickBooks! Joel and Sandy!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:22 pm

I spent the day with Ashley! Yeah, baby!

We met at the Atlanta Metro Baptist Association building.
s
Joel Harrison does our printing for us. He’s a blessing.
s

We also met with Sandy Defoe. She’s a Board Member of Whirlwind Missions and our Treasurer. She taught Ashley how to create Journal entries in Quick Books. I watched and listened. Ashley is amazingly adept at learning new things.

s

Finally broke for lunch around 3:30pm. I took Ashley out for Subway.

Went to the mission to check on the kids and drop off supplies. It was great to see Abraham. He lived at Azalea for years. Rashawn and Angel were also looking good.
s
Sure do love these kids.
Had fun conversations with my brother, Jim (it’s his birthday!) and my mom Peggy. Always great to keep in touch.

Home now for admin duties.

Newsletter! Sick! Thanksgiving!

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:36 pm

On Monday morning I produced my news letter and promptly went back to bed.

I’ve been sick with a headache, stuffy nose and sneezing since Monday. I stayed in bed pretty much the whole time this week. Kathy took me out for lunch for Mexican food on Wednesday.
s

Thursday morning we got our things ready to go to Ashley’s house to celebrate Thanksgiving.
s

I’ve missed seeing her since I’ve been sick.
s
Miles cooked Cornish hens for lunch.

Good food and great fellowship was had by all.
