Run! Rest! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:56 pm

This morning I went for a 5.06 mile run.
s
I haven’t been feeling super great, so I wasn’t sure how well I’d do. Felt just fine. The trees are absolutely amazing now. Sometimes I just stop and praise the Lord for his amazing artistry and infinite variety!

I officially love geese.
s

I got of a shot of this hawk before he left the scene. See it?
s

I always find these “zipper” clouds interesting.
w

Got home and rested for 1.5 hours. I slept nearly 10 hours last night. I really do think rest is the best medicine.

Went by White Windmill for a little treat and to get Ashley a couple of birthday goodies. She’s AWESOME!
s
I loved the geraniums outside.
s

Went to the mission to work with the kids.
s

We decorated the mission for Ashley’s birthday tomorrow. She hasn’t been feeling well. Cold symptoms. She looked better this evening when I dropped off a couple of small gifts and the notes the kids made.

I gave one of our volunteers a list of the best books for kids. I want to start a small library.
s
s

Ate supper with Jesse.
s
Always good. He drew a diagram on the board to illustrate how the alcohol in the hand sanitizer kills ebola.
s

Royal China is my favorite in Chamblee. Their new menu is huge. It includes this delicacy.
s
I don’t think so.

Admin duties now.

I plan on watching the comet landing show this evening. What an amazing accomplishment for mankind!

When was the last time you saw one of these on a roof top?
s
The back of this truck was packed with bread.

Podcast! A&K! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:24 pm

One of my favorite things! Podcast!
s
I really like this edition called, “Not too late!” It’s important to tell those significant others how special they are! Take the time to reconnect.
x

This podcast will motivate you to do that! Just click on the title and groove!

I met up with Kathy and Ashley for Mexican food. Ashley taught her ESL class this morning. I know she’s a terrific teacher and is also learning a lot! She hasn’t been feeling well.

After lunch A and I went to Walmart to pick up some groceries as well as get her some meds.

Came home to rest. I’ve been trying to get a little extra rest. Usually I’m sick this time of year. A, J and K have all been sick. So far, I’ve been healthy, just feel a little run down.

Got gas. GREAT to see the prices going down.
s
Enjoyed working with the kids at the mission. I told Ashley to stay at home. She needs the rest too.
s

Watched the new Castle with Kathy. They finally get married! Yeah!

Admin duties now.

I thought these waves were interesting.
s

One of the mission kids made this little hangman’s noose. She had a little doll in it. Her teacher told her that was “inappropriate.”

Trent! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:55 pm

Ashley and I had a fun lunch with Trent DeLoach.
s
He’s the Missions Pastor for Rehoboth Baptist Church.
s

s

I’m glad to hear that things are looking up for them. We talked about housing teams at their church. They want to charge $20/night/person. I thought that was pretty high.

After our lunch, we went by North Lake Church of Christ.
s
They are another church willing to host teams. They’ve just added showers to their facilities so people could stay there longer than overnight. We talked with the secretary and left information for the Pastor.

Went to the ATT store for Ashley to pick up her new phone! I reckon we do about 70% of our work on the phone. Now our phones can do everything!
s
We’re on the Next program with ATT, so we can upgrade once a year . . . .but we have to give our old phone back to them.
s
I just found out this afternoon that those old phones are given to returning soldiers. Hooo ah to that!

Then to Briarcliff United Methodist Church.
s
We tried to find a staff person on site, wasn’t possible. We left a note. Again, we’re trying to solidify possible housing opportunities for our teams.

We had a great conversation with John Sayger from Memphis, TN this afternoon. I’ll be going to their church over MLK day to do a training with their students.

It was fun passing the phone around to my Bengali kids at the mission to talk with them. They got a kick out of that.

Then worked with the kids. Always good!
d

Jesse showed the kids some science toys. I love J’s enthusiasm!
s

K and I watched a couple of episodes of Grey’s Anatomy. I’ve only started watching it. Good show.

Admin duties now.

This seems early to me.
s

Makes me smile.

Writing! Intestellar!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:15 pm

This morning I enjoyed listening to Jeff Lyle at Meadow Baptist Church. He’s got an energetic preaching style that I like. He preached on Change and used the choosing of David as the new king as his text.

Did some creative writing. My version of proverbs on steroids.
s

Ate lunch with Jesse and Kathy. Always good!
s

Went to see Interstellar this afternoon/evening. I say that because it was almost 3 hours long. Yow.
s

It was just ok. Just kind of fell apart at the end for me.

Admin duties now. Kathy has been out on her bike.

Beautiful colors.

Podcast! Baylor! Run!

Tim A. Cummins @ 1:34 pm

One of my favorite things to do: RECORD!
s
I had fun with this new episode of Verbal Surgery!
s

When you’re having trouble sleeping, check out Verbal Surgery -296- “Mind Shaft!” Just don’t listen to it while driving! Click on the title and groove!

Kathy and Ashley are together this morning at a party for my niece Katie. She’s having a baby!

K brought home sandwiches from Honey Baked Ham. Wow. They were really good.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the Baylor vs Oklahoma game today. My Bears put it to them in Norman, no less! 48-14. Wow.

We also watched Grey’s Anatomy together.

Then ran 5.07 miles. A beautiful time of the early evening.
s
s

I can’t believe someone would actually just dump this stuff on the side of the road. What?!
s

This time of year our subdivision really lives up to her name.
s
s
s

The wind rolls these clumps of pine straw.
s

Perhaps you may remember how two days ago the mailbox was knocked over. This is the replacement.
s

Came home. Vacuumed the house.

Cleaned up.

Podcast! Cleaning! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:46 pm

Recorded a new podcast this morning!
s

One of my favorite things to do: talk! This is a great episode on how to change quickly. Try out “Morph!”

Just click on the title and groove!
s
Cleaned the fish tank.
s
I repaired one of my bird feeders.
s
Kathy cleaned my room. I organized and put back all my stuff.
s

Met up with Kathy, Jesse and Ashley for lunch at Kathmandu Grill in Clarkston. Delicious and great company.
s
s

We called my Dad while we were there. It’s his 84th birthday today. Jesse is 24, Kathy is 54 and Dad is 84. Exact 30 year spread between them.

I sorted through several hundred business cards I’d collected. Got about 20 people I’d like to contact.

When I got to Azalea, one of the families was bringing back the chairs and tables I’d let them borrow. Everyone got in on the act.
s

Worked with the kids at the mission.
s
s

We are trying to get the kids to wash their hands.
s
They love art projects.
s

Cleaned the mission before I came home.
s

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:53 pm

I enjoyed a 5.08 mile run this morning. I haven’t run in a while since the weather has been so cold. Long way. Beauty.
s

I thought this was weird.
s

Hit and run I reckon.

Came home to rest. Then off to the mission to work with the kids!

Don! House & Amy! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:22 pm

I dropped by our treasurer’s house to leave the financial report that Ashley creates.
d
I have an old laptop I’m giving to a friend of mine in the UK. It appears I can’t mail it to him because it has lithium batteries. The duty on it would have been expensive as well. Looks like I’ll take it over there in my bag on my next trip. The US Post and UPS told me the same thing.

s

Ashley and I had fun showing our new friends from Southern Crescent Baptist Church in McDonough around the International Village!
s

Pastor Don Pickerill and their youth director House Houseworth and his wife Amy experienced a safari, Whirlwind Missions style!
s

Always something fun to see and experience!
s

Ashley and I had a few minutes before the school buses arrived, so we checked out an antique store in our area. Bizarre things.

Did the shopping for the family this morning.
s

Had a fun lunch with Kathy and Jesse.
s

Planet Fitness is getting ready to open. Looks like outdoor treadmills!
s

Jesse and I came home to work on an old laptop computer that we’re getting ready for a friend of mine. Glad we have Jesse! He hates working with Windows computers.
s
Enjoyed working at the mission with the kids.
s
s

Early sunset. Hate it.
s
Terrible traffic on the way home. I should have checked my phone.
