Sick! KJAM! Penelope!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:41 pm

Sunday, I was sick. I left the house to get a gyro and to Walmart to pick up some nose drops and Tylenol. My throat was a bit better but I felt really tired. Watched Agents of Shield and played some Battlefront.

Monday, I had a lot more energy, but my throat still hurts and I’m still stopped up.

Ashley and her best friend had a girls weekend retreat. She came back around lunch time! Woot!

I went to Clarkston to pick up Penelope. Miles cleaned up their house while I watched P this morning. We met up at Los Hermanos for lunch. Great to see Jesse there!
s
s
s

Came home to work on house chores.

Cleaned the fish tank.

Separated K’s pills.
s
I also cut all the larger pills in half.
s

Started to clean my bedroom. What a hard job. Dusting in the hardest part.

So fragile!
s

I did my desk too.
s
s
s
I have so many cool and unusual things.
s
s
s

Many areas that I haven’t cleaned in years. Still about two hours of work to finish off the rooms.

Didn’t quite get finished cleaning the plant tables.
s
s

Still need to vacuum and then mop the place.

Enjoyed spending time with Jesse this evening.

Helped him develop some letters.

Admin duties now.

Sometimes, I’m the best.

Sick! JP!

Tim A. Cummins @ 4:20 pm

Friday, I got to be with two of my favorite people: Penelope and Jesse!

She had fun with Yoda. As well she should.
s

I wasn’t feeling well. But having baby around made me feel better.
s

We took her to Red Robin.
s

Then to Barnes and Nobles. She liked the Giving Tree the best and playing with the trains and these little Shopkins things.
s
s
Enjoyed listening to Baylor clobber Northwestern State 55-7.

Watched Agents of Shield with K. She mostly slept.

Had a hard night sleeping Friday night. Sore throat hurt a lot. I’ve been gargling.

Saturday I stayed in bed till noon. Went to get a gyro at American Deli then to Walmart to get some more nose drops.

I just woke up from an hour nap. Catch up on my admin duties I didn’t feel like doing yesterday.

Sickish! Raccoon Death! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:18 pm

Started having kind of a scratchy throat yesterday. Been sneezing more than normal and feel tired. I rested a little extra this morning.

I’d say I feel upper 80s. I’m usually over 100%!

Cleaned and refilled my hummingbird feeders.
s
s

Met up with Kathy on a short break for lunch.

On the way there, I saw a dead raccoon.
s
I was overwhelmed by grief! Astonishing how attached I’ve gotten to “my” ‘coons over the last few months. I get to watch them almost every night with my red light.

After I ate with Kathy, I went back and got the raccoon body. Buried her in my back yard. Sad.
s

I just looked outside and saw two! I call them sisters. I also have one big Mama ‘coon and one that has a hurt left rear leg. But the two girls always come together. I hope I see all my regular visitors tonight!

Came home to fold and stuff the newsletters for this month.
s
Got them in the mail.
s

Then over to Walmart to do the shopping. I’d say “weekly” shopping except I seem to go to Walmart nearly every other day for something.
s

Gassed up my car.
s

Worked with the kids at the mission. Not too many. I’m glad, since I’m definitely not 100%.
s

Ate supper with Jesse. Always good!
s

Admin duties now. K is already asleep.

I have Penelope coming over tomorrow at 10:00am. Good times!

What does this look like to you?

Run! AP! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:52 pm

Went for a 2.63 mile run this morning. Beautiful.
s
s
s
s
s
s

I’m curious as to what caused this.
s

This smells fantastic.
s

Had a fun time eating lunch with Ashley and Penelope. We talked about our upcoming Double Decade Dinner that’s coming up on September 10th.

Ashley sounded stopped up and has a sore throat. She took the baby for her shot and 9 month check up. Penelope did great!

After the doctor visit and Ash not feeling well, I told them to stay home and I could handle the mission.

Came home to rest.

Then to the mission!

Fortunately, the kids came in waves that weren’t too hard to handle.
s
s

I’m really working on people learning how to do subtraction. It’s hard for them to get, all the regrouping stuff.

One of my kids is a High School Senior. He was talking about taking Biology as a major in college. He mentioned Pharmacist. I told him I thought there were local schools just for pharmacology. On my way home, less than a mile from the mission, I see a car with this sticker. When I stopped at a light, I messaged Minhaz with that info. Weird how when I think of things, they show up. It’s like the Dirty Money Game.
s

Admin duties now.

I’ve been enjoying watching Agents of Shield in the evenings.

Verbal Surgery International! KAP! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:57 pm

I am nearing two benchmarks in Verbal Surgery: 400 episodes and 75,000 downloads! I first started Verbal Surgery in October of 2010.

Last night, I did research on WHERE my podcast was being downloaded.
l
I found the results fascinating! Top Countries:
k
By State:
k
The area in the world who listens to my podcasts the most is Silicon Valley. Nearly 7,500 downloads in the San Fransisco bay area.
;
k
Shockingly to me, was the second most number of downloads area was Beijeng! What?!
h
k

The third area to no surprise was the UK.
l;
;
;

After I went through the first few pages of results, I started to see really cool combinations of countries. Notice how many listeners I have in Iran!
k
s
s
s
s

I find maps and stats to be fun. It helps to visualize my listeners!

Great morning! RECORDING!
s
Terrific episode of Verbal Surgery today called, “INtrance.”

We are constantly telling ourselves a narrative of what is going on. These stories can be a long way from reality! A fascinating episode on where we get our decisions.

Uploaded to my server.
s
Took me longer than normal because I had a lady come and talk to me. That meant I had to edit the two pieces together. NBD, but it still takes fifteen minutes or so because I don’t do it all the time and I have to figure it out again.

Uploaded link to Facebook.
s

Ate lunch with ALL my girls! Kathy joined Ashley and Penelope and I at El Torero.
s
s

P loves lemons!
s
Met Ashley and Penelope at the mission. LOTS of kids.
s
s

Cleaning the N64 games that don’t work. The guy at Play n Trade said to try that.
s
Alcohol on a Qtip.

Updated Twitter feed.
s
Went to the Post Office.
s
Super crowded decided to just send my Mom more tea through Amazon and let them pay the postage. I’ll take the other bags I have here with me when I go to Texas in October.

Then got a sub on the way to the airport. I parked in the very front.
s

I liked this skylight.
s

And the reflection.
s
GREAT to have the Kendalls back!
o

They had a great time in Georgetown with my parents, Al and Peggy Cummins.

Ashley also spoke at Main Street Baptist Church. Way to go Team Ashley!

Westside Baptist Church! Know Your Row!

Tim A. Cummins @ 3:16 pm

Kathy and I went to Westside BC this morning.
e
s
We joined the church months ago, but I still knew very few member’s names.

Bought “Hello, my name is” stickers and markers. Everyone had their name tags on and I shot pictures of as many members as I could.
s
s
s
s

Enjoyed lunch with Kathy. She helped serve an 103 year old man at the restaurant.

Carpets! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:20 pm

I dropped off the financial report that Ashley did to our Treasurer, Jon Paul.
s

Did some banking.
s

Over to Azalea to meet up with Jesse. We enjoyed BBQ for lunch.
s

We cleaned the mission up. J did most of the vacuuming and sweeping.
s

I did the carpet cleaning.
s

I especially did the area where Penelope can play.
s

Hooked up the Nintendo 64 I just got.
s

Set all the chairs and tables back up.
s
s

I want the place to be nice and clean for the baby.

Came home and did the carpets in my living room again. They had some odd discolorations.
s
I used only hot water with no product. Still amazing how much dirt came out.

Took the machine back to Lowes after cleaning it thoroughly.

Went to the Dollar Tree to get some permanent markers. I need to use them at church tomorrow.
s

Watching the Revenant with K.

Admin duties now.

Cool clouds.

Texas for Kendalls! Carpets!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:50 pm

This morning I got to Ashley’s house around 6:30am.

Drove them to the airport. They’re on Safari to visit my Folks in Georgetown, Texas!
s

Not easy flying with a baby. Ashley said she was running a bit of a fever. Teething?

Put up another location for a hummingbird feeder. I have four. I’m spreading them out a bit more. One of the males tries to chase the others off.

Refilled feeders and relocated my red light. I got it up off the ground on a rock.

Worked on the carpets most of the afternoon.

Straightened the house.
s

Then vacuumed.
s

Deep scrubbed the high travel areas and spots.
s
s

I mix up a solution of hot water and oxyclean.
s
Then scrub it in with a stiff broom.
s
s
s

Got the Rug Cleaner from Lowes.
s

Takes about 3 hours to complete the process. That’s if I don’t stop.
Also cleaned the stairs.
s

I didn’t take the cleaner back yet. I’m thinking about doing the carpets at the mission. Not sure how my back will feel tomorrow. I’d like to make sure the floors are clean for Penelope.

Kathy went for a bike ride. She got up at 5:30am this morning. She’s a tired camper.

Admin duties now.

Good game on Battlefront last night.
s
Beautiful clouds.

Chocolates! Newsletters! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:23 pm

This morning I worked on completing the Chocolate Brains and Baby Feet project.

Poured chocolate into the molds.

Set into the freezer.
s
The fork was an experiment with honey. Epic fail.

I still need to cover the candies with gold foil.

Wrote my newsletter. Produced it and sent it to our partner to print.
s

Got more markers in the mail.
s
Got some cleaners and hardware/screws for my handrail banister. I need to reinforce what I have.
s
Scrubbed the ceramic burners on our stove. What a challenge.
s
Better.
s
Furniture polish for our living room table.
s
Got stamps for the newsletters.
s
I took a couple of Golden Brains for Jesse.
s
Watered my Ficus plant in my office.
s
Got the newsletter envelopes from our storage area at FBC Doraville.

My girls and Miles are going to Texas tomorrow morning! They’ll be missed!
s

To the mission to work with the kids. They helped us with labeling the letters. I get doughnuts as a thank you.

s
s
s
Went to Plaza Fiesta to get some repairs done onto Ashley’s 3 piece.
s

Stopped at Michaels to check on supplies for an air brush. I buy pretty much everything from Amazon, but I like to see it in person, too.
s

Play N Trade for two Nintendo 64 game consoles. The only game system that is “Mission Tough.” I plan on having a little competition with some trophies.
s

Met up with Jesse at our house. We went out to eat with Kathy. Good times.

Admin duties now. Early morning tomorrow. I’ll pick up Ashley, Miles and the Magnificent Baby at their house around 7am. Yow.

Cool clouds. What does it look like to you?
