Raccoons! Podcast! Chocolates! KAP! Diana! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:18 pm

I love science and nature. I consider myself a Naturalist. I love studying animals. In the last few months, I’ve added an entirely new dimension to my animal observation: red flood lights. Animals cannot see that spectrum of light.

So I put dry cat food and suet and wait. I also have a game trail camera that takes 10 seconds of video whenever the light beam is broken.
s

I have four separate raccoons that come to my feeder. At least one opossum. I hope one day to see a fox or a coyote on my game cam. Or in person!

Last night, I looked out the window and I saw a 2ft object standing on the ground. It looked pretty bulky. I got my binoculars out and was studying the shape when it turned its’ head and looked at me with two enormous eyes! An owl! Sure didn’t expect that! It flew up into the tree above my feeders.

A minute later, an opossum showed up at the feeder. I wondered if the owl would attack the opossum. He didn’t!

The drama of the night in my back yard.

For the third day in a row: RECORDING. Wow. Do I love to hear myself talk. “PosiMAXIMUM” will get you going in the right direction!

Had a fabulous lunch with Kathy, Ashley and the Magnificent Baby. AP will be going to Texas with Miles to visit my parents in Georgetown. It’s about thirty miles North of Austin in Central Texas. So I’m getting as much baby time as possible.

Had a short rest before going on to Azalea. BEST news was that Ashley brought Penelope. Awesomeness incarnate.

Gassed up my car.
s

Weird at the mission today. Ashley and I had been there for over 1.5 hours and were ready to leave. That’s when a few more kids wandered in. I sent the girls on home and stayed there with the tardy ones. Apparently, their Mom had been at work and they weren’t allowed to leave. C’est la vie.
s
Great to be with my girls!
s
s
s

Stopped by Subway to pick up a couple of subs for Jesse. He hasn’t been sleeping well. Please pray that Jesse’s sleep with increase and that he’ll feel well again. Amen!

Kathy was already in bed by the time I got home around 7pm. She’s a tired girl who has to get up before 6am.

Shirts! Back! Rest!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:21 pm

My back was really hurting this morning. It continued to improve as the day went along.

I bought a bunch of shirts a few months ago. The company turned out to be located mainly in China and the Czech Republic. Took weeks to get the shirts and they were all Asian sizes. Our Large in the USA is most other countries XXL!
s
I had to package them all up along with documentation and send them off. Fortunately, they have an office in NY.
s
Also sent off a Red Thread to a friend.
s

Rested most of the day. Took ibuprofen and had a heating pad on for hours to help my back.

Saw Suicide Squad this evening. I thought it was pretty good. Reviews were so bad I wasn’t expecting much.

Podcast! Azalea! Back!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:19 pm

I hurt my back yesterday lifting the baby in her car seat. Seemed a lot better today. Then I re-injured it this afternoon lifting school supplies. I’ll just have to be careful for a few days, give the muscles a chance to heal. But it’s SO hard not to hold the baby and walk around with her. My guess is I’ll just deal with the pain.

Some kind of big plumbing thing going on at the end or our cul-de-sac and down the road.
s

I had a great morning: RECORDING! Woot!
s

A fun episode on how to change called “Mountain Trees.”

Melissa! AP! Whirlwind Tour!

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:16 pm

Always a great day when I get to talk to my Mom. She’s getting my Dad around ok, but it’s not easy. They’ve had to cut back on many activities because it’s so challenging to get him in and out of the car and wheelchairs.

Fabulous to spend time with Ashley and Penelope today! We met up with a new friend from 12 Stone Church, Melissa!
s

We took her on a Whirlwind Tour with visits to the Buford Highway Farmers Market, Enigmas, China Town, Asian Square, Pho 24 and 8 Degrees F.

Santa Muerta looking regal.
s

Pretty good. I like Yogurt Land better.
s
Little milk chin.
s
Artsy.
s
s
I love this baby so much.
s

Ashley and I worked on the slides for The Show this afternoon. Went to Azalea to sort out and decide what to do with the extra school supplies.

I tweaked my back picking up the baby in the baby chair. I think I’ll be fine. Doesn’t hurt too bad. Decided to call it a day and go home and rest.

We’ll start with the kids after school program on Tuesday.
