Went back to Lowe’s later with Big Red to get the boards.

Main Street! BHFM!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:32 pm

Ashley, Penelope and I had fun briefing our Main Street Baptist Church, TX team on being an immigrant and how to work with the kids at the missions.
s

s
s
s
Took them on Safari to the Buford Highway Farmers Market.
s
s
s
It was great to see the Frozen Pig Head back! Most of the time we have to make do with the Frozen Goat Head. Just not the same. But still funny. Plenty of goat teeth dental humor to be found.
s

Then to the missions! They’re really doing a great job!
s
s
s
s
s

Ashley and I worked on how we want “P’s Tienda” to look.

Made pink jello in a brain mold. I think it’ll be fun to eat.

s

I just saw some of the ideas Ashley has come up with. Wow.

Admin duties now.

It’s been fun to watch the raccoons at my feeders. I’ve seen as many as three at the same time. I know there are at least four that come regularly.

They have a huge fireworks store near us. Looks like you could blow up half of Stone Mountain.
s
s

Lovely.
s

Fantastic sunset last night.

Sandy Springs Recon with AP!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:27 pm

Rained nearly 1/2″ last night.
s

Ashley, Penelope and I went on a recon of the Sandy Springs area for new mission sites.
s

Our goal was six sites in the area.

We achieved our goal including two new properties which are the largest in the area: The Falls and Mosaic.
a
s
s
s

We talk to the managers about a Summer Camp.

s
We clearly tell them that they’ll tell a Bible story, so we’re not being secretive about it.

After the Sandy Springs recon, we went back to the Buford Highway side of the map to talk to managers about next week’s team.

The hard part is getting the big bus around to the locations. You have to drive the route multiple times, imagining that you’re a big bus to see if they can make right hand turns or not, or can they get into the entrance of the apartment complexes. Most of the time they just stop and let the kids off on the side of the road. The people in our area are used to that and are patient.

Another challenging job was getting 10 bags ready for teams from First Baptist Atlanta. It’s complicated logistics on a large scale. We do it regularly so it’s no big deal. Some churches prefer just to pay us to go and get the stuff and sort it.
s
s

I had to make a Walmart run to pick up 12 balls. Dollar Tree was out.
s

Set up the fellowship hall for The Show tomorrow morning.

Admin duties now.

Penelope! Brain Prep! Whirlwind Wands!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:42 pm

I’m having fun thinking about cool stuff for “P’s Tienda.” I’ve got a lot of brain stuff that the kids will enjoy.
s

I like the glass display jars.
s

I’ve been blowing my voice out yelling at the teams outside. Not anymore! Not with this megaphone!
s

I like this brain hat. I’ll wear that while I do the bits about Train my BRAIN.
s

Got to watch Penelope for about six hours today. What a blessing!
s

She likes standing up and balancing.
s
She only took a nap for about ten minutes. I was surprised.
s

She liked smelling my coffee cup. She liked to lick the lip of the cup.
s

I love this baby so much.
s
s
s
s

Went shopping at Walmart.
s

Mixed up more seed for my feeders.
s
It’s a little heavy on black sunflower seed. I need to add more cat food and millet.

My jasmine plant is blooming. What a wonderful smell!
s

Had a big tree limb fall during the last storm.
s

Cut it up and put it back on my limb pile.
s

Cleaned and refilled my hummingbird feeders.
s
s

Cut, prayed over and anointed the red threads with oil from Israel!
s

It’s all a labor of love.

Did the house shopping. Lot of stuff today. Besides the regular household stuff, I have several projects going on that require parts.

I’m working on prototypes for my new bubble wands.

I’ve decided to add a smaller size as well.

I’m still waiting for my dowels to get here. I’ll be making five 28″ wands.

I bought a refill for a micro-fiber based mop. They had four different kinds. I thought this blue and white material worked best.
s
The project took longer than I thought because I had to take the hem out of the mop. The material is pretty fragile too.
s
You have to tie all the ends or they’ll come unraveled.
s
I think they’ll turn out great. I just need to get the dowels and plastic ties and paint them gold, then attach the rope to the dowels.

Editing! Notes!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:37 pm

I edited the videos I shot of the two teams last week.
s

Burned dvd and got them in the mail.

s

Rested my voice today.

Watched two different TV Church guys. I listened and took notes.
s
s
They become my Twitter feed!

s

New Stone Mountain sticker put on.
s

Also new license plate sticker.
s
s

Kathy went for a bike ride. She had a tire pop half way around the mountain.

Picked her up.

Brought her home. We ate Chinese food.

Then took her bike over to the Aztec Bike shop in Stone Mountain.
s

Came home to work on admin duties.

I’m figuring out things for P’s Tienda, the Whirlwind Missions boutique. I’ve come up with some fun brain related stuff.

Also tattoos.
s
These are stickers that you color in.

I’m shooting for a “Get Tribal” motif.

Yes, please.

Recon! Cleaning!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:06 pm

Printed out labels and got stamps in prep for getting the newsletter out.
s

The more time with Ashley and the Magnificent Baby, the better! So today was a great day!
s

s

We did a recon of apartments in the Norcross/Tucker region. We were able to open up work in five new apartment complexes! Amen!
s
s
s
s

s

Always great to have time with my girls!
s

Came home to attack the dirt in my downstairs area. Vacuum, dusting, swiffer. It was a full, major assault.

s
s
s

And I had to be very careful. Lots of breakables.
s
s

Swiffer is way better than a mop.
s
But you have to make sure you dry as you go along. I had a tremendous fall mopping last year.
s

I’m actually not this nasty. Am I?
s

Better.
s

Been going through Amazon looking for brain themed things. I’m thinking about doing a brain/neurology table.

Morven! Plaza Fiesta!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:01 pm

Gassed up my car. It has the cheapest gas of any I know of in Atlanta.
s
On my way home tonight it’s down to 2.01.

Ashley, Penelope and I had a great time on our final day together with Morven Baptist Church.
s

Today was our “D Day,” or Dedication Day.

Gave Pastor Mike the Golden Egg of Eggcellence!
s

We talked to them about Mexican Catholicism.
s
s

P liked to play with the big globe.
s

The girls got cold. Ash and I were sweating.
s

“It’s up to ME,” passing the baton.
s

Signing the Landing Pad.
s

Then off to Plaza Fiesta! ORALE!
s
Always great food!
s
s
s

They’ve been a great team.
s
To the missions!
s
s
d

Ashley and I put up our gear. We’ll set it up early Tuesday morning, I suspect.
