Run! J! Crazy Ron!

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:27 pm

Friday evening about 10:18, I saw the International Space Station for the 17th time! It’s supposed to make another fly by Saturday night around 9:15pm. It’s usually brighter if it’s closer to sunset.
s

Went for a run this morning.
s
It’s Global 5K weekend on Runkeeper. I went 4.87 miles which is more than I thought I could do.

They are cutting down all the trees in preparation for a new neighborhood. Boo.
s
I hope they make something beautiful out of those trees.
s
Plenty of beauty!
s

Stopped a lot to pick up trash.
s

Home to clean up and work on admin duties.

Enjoyed lunch with Jesse at Crazy Ron’s BBQ.
s

My favorite BBQ in the WORLD. It was so good.
s

Came home to water plants and clean/refill my hummingbird feeders.
s
s

Looking forward to doing more VR this evening with Jesse. Uber groovy.

Newsletters! Plants! AP! Mindtech VR!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:37 pm

Finished up the newsletters.
s
Got them in the mail.
s
Dropped the financial report by our treasurer’s house.
s
Tried to get the oil changed in my car. They were too busy to work it in.
s

Someone had thrown a bag of garbage out and scattered stuff everywhere. I got a garbage bag and picked it all up. Can’t stand stuff like that in my neighborhood.
s
I found a nice level while I was picking up trash. That’ll preach.
s
Worked on fertilizing some of my plants, in particular the pink magnolias and the gardenia bushes.
s

Had lunch with Ash and Penelope. Always great!
s

P loved the pickle and wouldn’t give it up. Totally surprised me.
s

I had a water party for some of the girls. Most of the kids were at a graduation event for their school.
s
s

I liked these white paint drips.
s
s

K and I went to see the VR Meet up that Jesse was hosting.
s
He did a great job.

Don’t see these everywhere.
s

I liked the geometry.
s
Bush colors.
s
Sunset!
s
This evening I saw the International Space Station for the 17th time!

Podcast! Rob! AP! Newsletters!

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:23 pm

Fun morning: RECORDING!
s

I usually drive over to the lake and record there in the mobile studio, aka my car. But the place was PACKED with kids out from school.

I really enjoyed recording “Live Love.” It may be one of the most important episodes yet.

Uploaded to my server.
s

Linked to my Facebook account.
s
My Gardenia is really flowering. Love that.
s

My Pink Magnolia is as tall as I am now. Awesome.
s

Met up with Ashley and Penelope for lunch. Always good.
s

We took our friend Rob Martin out for lunch.
s

Great to catch up with friends.

Went to the post for stamps. Nice.
s

We got the labels on the newsletters.

I picked up the newsletters and folded and stuffed the newsletters.
s

Called Blue Cross Blue Shield about a payment on our health insurance.
s

Admin duties now.

I put up my new American Flag. I’m in flag mode these days.

RUN! Soil! KAP!

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:12 pm

I took Kathy out for Chinese food Tuesday evening. I liked the needle point.
s

Nice cool, beautiful morning for a RUN!

Ran 3.3 miles.

Sorry to see this. I hate it when they clear cut land.
s
I constantly heard chain saws while I was in the Amazon last year.
s

They are doing utility work at the end of our neighborhood. Looks like they’re upgrading the drainage.
s
s
I have a Ph balance scale. Today, I tested the acidity of the soil of some of my plants. I’m especially concerned for one of my gardenias and my jasmine plant. But I was curious about them all.

K and I met up with Ashley and Penelope for lunch! Love my girls!

s
s
I thought this dripped chocolate looked cool.
s
Came home for a rest.

Working on admin duties now.

Looked like an invading army.
s
All these died this spring. Not sure what happened.

Newsletter! Hospital w/AP! Stencil!

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:30 pm

Worked on my newsletter this morning. My theme was my sabbatical in Israel for two weeks. It’s great to live in a free nation. We need to remember the folks who helped keep it that way.
s
Sent the files to our friend Joel Harrison at the Atlanta Metro Baptist Association office.
s
Went to Ashley’s house. We took Penelope over to Kathmandu Grill. Always good.

Then to Dekalb Medical Center.
s

We worked with a financial counselor to help get some of the debt of Ashley’s stay at the hospital with Penelope reduced. Good news on that front, about a 35% reduction.
s

I parked on 2a.
s

Did the shopping at Walmart.
s
Came home and worked on stencils. I’d like to do some art with stencils and spray paint around my house.
s
Lots of little details to cut out.

Podcast! Jimmy! A&P!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:11 pm

Fun morning, RECORDING!
s

Yeah, baby! I enjoyed laying down the track for “I am not the Product.”

We are our memories, the collected thoughts of our past.

This is the view I have when I’m recording. Beauty.
s

Uploaded the file to my server.
s

Put the link on Facebook.
s
Fixed our vacuum cleaner. The bottom hose was completely jammed up.

Managed to get most of the stuff out of the hose.

e

s
It works!
s

While I was in Israel, I learned that the Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was being filmed in Atlanta. I decided to send Chris Pratt a few little gifts and ask him if he’d like to see the International Village. I think it’d be fun to meet him.
s
I talked to the staff at Pinewood Studios where they’re filming. She told me that I could mail a package and the production company would get it to them. Hope so.

Met up with Ashley, Penelope and our friend Jimmy Kim from Perimeter Church.
s
s
I let Penelope try some Korean potato salad. She wasn’t impressed.
s

We talked about the outreach for their Summer Rush conference. We enjoyed the tasty Korean food.

I went to see Avengers Civil War. Really liked it with lots of characters like Ant Man and Spider Man.
s

I saw this speedboat on a truck on 285.

Westside ! PK!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:24 pm

I had a fun day today!

K and I went to Westside Baptist Church.

s
Great to be back in our church. Ashley dropped Penelope at our house to watch her for the day. Never too much sweet P!
s
It was Senior Appreciation day. I’m so stupid I thought he was going to say something nice about the old folks.
s
Pastor preached Jesus. Focus on the priorities.

We came home and Kathy walked to the park with Penelope. They swang in swings and played in the sand.

I took a nap during these festivities. A 2 hour nap! I’m still having some issues with jetlag. Went to sleep about 8:30pm. Actually, more like fell asleep. Jesse came over to see us last night. I kept nodding off. Woke up at 5:30am. I’m getting there.

I drove to the park to hang out with the girls and then bring them home. It’s about 1.3 miles to the park. That’s pretty far to push a stroller, especially with our hills!

Ashley and Miles had fun at the lake with one of their friends. It’s good for kids to get away and not have to worry about the baby. You pretty much have to just focus on P when you’re with her unless she’s asleep. She’s and incredibly active baby and getting more mobile literally every day. She has tremendous leg and arm strength.

Looking forward to watching shows with K. She’s resting now.

Admin duties.

Podcast! Field Notes! Treasures! Flowers!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:19 am

Saturday morning I had fun: RECORDING!
s
It was great to get my tape deck and yell at it for a while. This is a terrific episode on getting started and how you need COURAGE! Just click on the title and groove!

Uploaded the episode to my server.
s
Put the link on Facebook.
s

Clouds were on the ground today! Super lush and moist atmosphere. Almost felt like Fall!
s
Did my vitamins for the next two weeks.
s

My pilgrimage to Israel wasn’t like most of my trips. It wasn’t as much a vacation as a two week intensive study time. I took a tour most days and recorded my field notes. Here are a few of my note cards.
s
s
s

Vacuumed the house. Helped with laundry.
s

Went to Hobby Lobby to pick up some small display cases for my Israeli treasures.
s
My favorites are my Herodian period 2,000 year old oil lamp and fragments of Roman glass from small pitchers.

s
I love to say Hobby Lobby. It’s my favorite store’s name. Now if only they were located in Abu Dhabi!

Also picked up rocks and pottery fragments in the desert and at the Garden Tomb.
s
s

Got some silk flowers that I’ll keep in the car until the next time I go to Bonaventure Cemetery to visit my grave site.
s

Enjoyed eating lunch with Kathy.

I decorated the South wall of my bedroom with some new posters I got in Israel.
s

Seems like almost all my plants are flowering. Happy Mr. Tim!

Meds! Docs! Bills!

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:39 pm

I worked on separating Kathy’s meds today.
s

Also set up the initial stages for a mail delivery of her meds rather than going to the pharmacy and paying retail prices.
s
Should save us hundreds of dollars a year. Document has to go to our doctor and she’ll write the prescription for it. The meds come in three month increments. That’s also helpful. Sometimes the Obamacare seems to help.

Paid bills.
s

Biggest job was scanning in all the official documents for Whirlwind Missions, Inc. We’ve had churches request the information.
s
Now that it’s digitized it’s easier to send around. I say easier, because the files are big and we may still have to use Dropbox or Google Drive in order to make it work. One file is over 60 pages long!
s

I got my new bumper sticker for my car today. It’s in Hebrew and says “Israel.” I dig it.

Passport! KAP! Jonesboro!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:00 am

Thursday, I got my new passport pictures made. Walgreens does a good job.
s
s
I took control of the situation and made him use a flash this time. My last picture I thought was too dark.

Worked on getting K’s meds together.
s
Three of her meds now have to be done by mail order. Today, I hope to get that situation squared away. I have eight of her other meds she can take.

Did the shopping at Walmart.
s
I thought the flowers outside of Kroger were beautiful.
s

I saw this on the way home. They just clear cut a huge section of forest about a mile from my house. This is what I made flyers about and distributed around the neighborhood. Change and natural destruction is inevitable, I suppose. At least I tried.
s

They are doing utility work near my house.
s
Progressive destruction?
s

Met up with Ashley and Penelope at El Toreros.

We went through the grant proposal for Dunwoody Baptist Church. The most rigorous application yet

I went to the Dollar Tree to pick up a few things I don’t normally get at Walmart. Bleach and wrapping paper for two.
s

Took my application over to the Post Office to mail.
s

Over to Walmart to check on vacuum cleaners for Ashley. With Penelope getting so much more mobile, the floor needs to be really clean, otherwise P is like a Rumba.

It’s now standard operational procedure for me to always check the reviews of the devices on Amazon. Sure enough, I got a 5 star vacuum for Ashley at a great price with free 2 day shipping. That’ll preach.

Came home to spend some time with my girls.
s
s
I’m glad Ashley likes her Hebrew Baylor Dovs shirt!
s

Tried to take a short nap before going to Jonesboro. Didn’t sleep but felt good to lay there still for a while.

Spectacular double rainbow in Jonesboro.
s
I noticed very unusual banding in the color frequency of the rainbow.
s
See the blue, indigo, blue, indigo pattern repeated?

Drove over to Jonesboro to speak at the Coffeehouse there. Good group of mainly college or young post grads.
s
s
s

Great to see friends!
s

I gave them a taste of what their mission trip in July will be like. Told them a bit about my trip in Israel. Explained what the day would look like with the briefings, safari and working at the missions. Had a prayer session with them. Seemed to go over really well. Let’s see how many of them sign up.

Came home and crashed out.

Friday morning, the 20th, woke up around 6am. But slept through the night. Hopefully, I’m back on schedule now.

Admin duties now.
