Sick!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:38 pm

Man, I sure have felt sick.

This is the worst I’ve felt in years.

Monday night came down with chills and fever. Not sure how high, over 102.

Tuesday, ran hot most of the day. Started taking 1,000 mg of acetaminophen every six hours. Splitting headache and coughing.

I did manage to upload the podcast that I’d recorded and got it posted on Facebook.
s
s
Wednesday, my fever started to normalize due to the meds. Headache came and went over and over.

Thursday, my head was better. Still coughing. Headache for hours. Sewed up the small holes in Ashley 3 Piece dress.

Ate at American Deli. Pouring rain and some sleet.
s

Today, Friday, my temperature has been normal. Talked to my partners at Roopville Road Baptist Church in Carrollton, GA to let them know what’s going on. Feeling better over all, but that’s not saying much.

I’d say I’m about 20% my normal feeling of tiger tankness.

Went to eat at Golden Corral. Came home. Slept an hour and a half.

Fixed my house slipper with my new heavy duty needles. Seems to work so far.

Been watching a lot of the 100 and Longmire. Kathy has been watching with me. The first two nights I wouldn’t let her come near me. She got so sad that I made her sign a card saying she wouldn’t blame me if she got sick, then let her come hang out with me. I felt so bad I was hesitant to let anyone come near me.

Tomorrow I’ll go to the conference in Carrollton. I only have one speaking engagement. The rest of the time it’s just talking to people standing by a booth. Shouldn’t be too bad.

The doctor told me (in the past) that once I’ve gone 24 hours without any fever I’m not contagious. Still, I told the church that I wasn’t willing to put another family at risk who was planning on housing me for the two nights. I told them I’d pay for a hotel. They told me they appreciated my attitude and that getting me a hotel wasn’t a problem. Thanks for that!

Sometimes the hardest part is just talking all the time. (Even for me!) I need to do my thing, then go back to the hotel and rest. Period.

I’m definitely better, but.

I’ve really missed hanging out with Ashley and the Magnificent Baby. But I don’t want the infant anywhere near me. Ash says she’s been doing fine. Miles was really sick a few days ago. Thank you, Jesus for keeping her safe.

You know I’m sick when I’ve only taken four pictures in three days. Whoa.

Podcast! Recon! AP!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:58 pm

Monday was fun! Until the evening . . .

Started out with recording! Love that!
s

This one will get you fired up! Check out “Fire and Lightning!”

Did the grocery shopping at Walmart.
d

Met up with Ashley and Penelope at FBC Doraville. We saw the new plans for the park behind the church.
s

We ate Brazilian in Marietta. One of our favorites.

Then talked to Eastside Baptist Church, FBC Marietta, Roswell Road BC and Johnson Ferry Baptist Church about lodging for our teams. Didn’t get any solid YES answers, but made a good start.
s
s
s
s

I sent the girls on home, then went to work at Azalea with the kids.
s
s

Gassed up the car. It was $1.45 just last week.
s

Super tired when I got home. Then later that night started with chills and fever.

That’s not zesty. I didn’t have a thermometer when I felt the hottest, but this morning I still had a temperature of 102.

Tuesday I’ve spent the entire day in bed. I slept 16 hours.

I ate some toast a little while ago and took some tylenol. I’m feeling a bit better. Amen to that!

Admin duties now.

I’ve seen this sticker, but never the fine print.

Westside! KAP!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:09 pm

After attending Westside Baptist Church for the last couple of years, Kathy and I joined the church this morning!
s

I always enjoy listening to Pastor Ben! He preached from the Sermon on the Mount.
s

Penelope enjoyed the service and was a perfect angel. I took her to the front for the children’s sermon. She paid attention and smiled at the appropriate place. Ha!
s

Great to be welcomed by such a warm, caring congregation.
s
s

Took all my girls out to eat for lunch.

Came home to rest, but wasn’t sleepy. Penelope had a nice nap.
s

Ran 2.65 miles this afternoon.

Always something beautiful to see. I especially love the Pink Magnolia trees. I was so happy to see that the sudden, late freeze didn’t kill them.
s
s
s

s

I love the light on the branches and the berries.
s
s
s
s
s

Camilla.
s
Vivid filter Tim.

PCBC! BHFM!

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:24 pm

Ashley, Penelope, Kathy and I had fun hosting a team of seniors from Peachtree Corners Baptist Church!
s

Mrs. Doris, won our new award as the oldest team member ever at 96! AMEN!
s

After our briefing and prayer time, we went on safari to the Buford Highway Farmers Market!
s
s

Always something fun to see and do!
s

K and I enjoyed our baby time!

We also went to try and get her glasses repaired. They gave us some info about who could do it. That’ll be at Tim job next week, I reckon.

Came home and had a nice rest. Admin duties now.

Podcast! Recon! Mission! P!

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:19 pm

Beautiful morning!
s

New podcast! WOOT!
s
I love recording!
s

This is a terrific episode on how to get help.
s
I’m still learning from my Dad! Check out “One Pickle!” What a yummy edition!

Just click on the pickle and GROOVE!

Speaking of yummy, I took Jesse his powdered meals.
s

Took out the trash and recycling.
s
s
We recycle way more than we throw away.
s
Bought some doughnuts for the kids at the mission.
s
s
Picked up stamps.
s
I took Ashley and Penelope out for Caribbean food.
s
s

We are still doing a recon for churches with housing for teams.
d
d
We are looking to house folks at FBC Doraville, which has no showers. Went by the Doraville Recreation Center to make sure they would still let out teams come by to use theirs.
s

Worked with the kids at the mission.
s

They always look forward to label day when we eat goodies.
s

I love this baby so much.
s

Beautiful sunset.
s
s
s
s

I dropped Ashley and P to their house. Miles bought a Wurlitzer organ! I remember in the 70s when a lot of churches had these. Probably a lot that still do!
s

Enjoyed having all my girls for an early lunch on Friday!
s
s
This is a typical look for her: constantly scanning the room for interesting objects.

I so enjoy watching Penelope. I had her for several hours today. I gave Ash a chance to do some office work. Hard to type holding a baby, but she does it!

Just uploaded and posted my new podcast to Libsyn and Facebook.

Admin duties now.

Newsletters! Errands! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:13 pm

Rained a little over 1″ last night.
s
Very windy and turned colder.

Worked on the newsletter donor list this morning.
s

Every year we scrutinize the list. If the person hasn’t donated in a year, they get a letter asking if they still want to be on the list. 25 people are possible drop offs.

Wrote and produced my newsletter including the third page for potential unsubscribers.
s

Stitched up some holes in my comforter.
s

I dropped off the PT Cruiser at T&G last night.

I had trouble filling up the car gas tank. It kept acting as if it was completely full.
s

The vent hose had gotten clogged causing a vapor lock. Pretty easy fix, still cost $115.

Went by the bank to check on 50 cent pieces. Finally found some at North Lake Mall. The Stamp and Coin shop had them. I use them for practicing manipulation of objects. For a long time I used silver dollars. Lately, I’ve been playing with quarters. I’m going to half dollars now.

Dollar Tree to pick up art supplies for the kids at the mission project about Frederick Douglass.
s
Couldn’t find everything I needed, so also went to Walmart.
s

Came home and edited the budget for Whirlwind Missions that Ashley had come up with. She’s learning all the aspects of running a business and has become quite adept with QuickBooks, too.
s

Worked with the kids at the mission.

Five of them had a project about Frederick Douglass.
s
s
I thought Mahiya’s was the best.
s

Gassed up the car on the way home. Looks like the vapor lock problem was fixed!
s

I like this.

Podcast! Recon! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:30 pm

Over 1.5″ of rain last night.
s
Rained pretty hard today, too.

Recorded a new podcast! Woot!
s
One of my favorite things!

Today marked my 365th episode of Verbal Surgery! That’s one for every day of the year!! There are over 180 hours of material. That translates to over SEVEN DAYS of listening to me talk. What a blessing.
s
This is Verbal Surgery -365- “Year You GO!”

Make use of the time you’re given!
s

Met up with Ashley and Penelope today!

Always a blessing!

We went to Global Mall to eat and see if we could buy something Indian for Penelope to wear when we speak.
s
She’s still way too young for these outfits.

We talked to a number of churches about housing our teams.
s

Went back to our church office to look at our budget and make the final decision as to who gets sent our “Stay on the Team” letter. Every year, we go through everyone on our mailing list. If they have not given in the last year, then their newsletter receives a third page which asks them if they still want to receive the newsletter. It helps people unsubscribe or just go online to read the newsletters.

Picked up the screen I’m making for our rear projection system. I’m making everything for about $20. If you bought a screen this big it would be a couple of hundred dollars.
s
Worked with the kids at the mission. Sure was glad Ashley was there.

I wrote down some facts about Frederick Douglass for the kids to use with their poster.
s

They’re in 3rd grade.
s
4X tables this week.
s

I have so much fun with my Little Partner.
s

The kids love her, too.

Came home in heavy rain.

My car has been difficult to fill up. Never had a car do that before. My mechanic thinks something has collapsed in the tube. Kathy picked me up in the rain.

She’s really tired tonight.

Admin duties now.

Lifeway! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:54 pm

Sunday afternoon I worked on plans for the screen at FBC Doraville.
s

Paid bills.

Packed a defective mouse to send back to Amazon. With Prime, all replacements are free shipping.

The stairs are my “out box.”

Cleaned the fish tank. That’s a biweekly job.
s

Monday morning I was up early. I’ve been going to sleep earlier lately.

Worked on an application form for our partners at Perimeter Church.
s

Updated my twitter account with my sermon notes.
s

Unloaded all the display stuff from my car, back to our supply room at FBC Doraville.
s

Met up with the video crew from Lifeway today. They’re doing a shoot for elementary kids about missions.

Ashley and Penelope and I took them to Plaza Fiesta. We always show off the Magnificent Baby.
s
s

I had a great time.
s
s
s
s

Love being with the baby!
s
Ashley is such a great mom.

Went back to Plaza Fiesta to take some sheets to get hemmed for a curtain rod. I’m using two 5 ft sections of PVC pipe to make one longer 10 ft section. I’ll hang these with the sheet to form a screen for our projector for The Show.

Worked at the mission with the kids. Man. They were super loud.

s
s

My voice really takes a beating. I’m not going to be able to tolerate it.

They managed to break the pencil sharpener. Fortunately, I was able to take it home and fix it, but it gets so frustrating sometimes.

Slippery roads headed home. I’m a super conservative driver.

Watching Doc Martin with K.

Admin duties now.

Things you see looking at baby stuff.

FBC Mountain Park! Ash and P! K!

Tim A. Cummins @ 4:00 pm

Ashley and I had fun speaking at FBC Mountain Park this morning. Pastor Paul Ballard is one of my favorite people!
s

Great service! Josh is extremely talented. Choir and band sounded awesome.
s Pastor Paul has such a warm and caring personality.

We spoke about missions, and how we can get involved locally!
d
s

Enjoyed lunch with my girls! Beauties!
s
My Little Partner was a but fussy this morning. She did give us some good smiles.
s
I was hoping to have her be in the service this morning. She’s teething, so who can blame her?

Resting and admin duties.

The burning bush.
s

I saw this advertised at Taco Bell. I reckon it’s because it’s an election year.

Pills! Crazy Ron! Carpet!

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:39 pm

Finished working on the pills for Kathy.

s

Made shots of each med with a number and a picture.
s

Made another page of what every pill is for.

Then coordinated the pill bottles with the number.

Trying to systematize how to do the challenge to make it easier and faster. Worked with the Pharmacist to verify exactly what’s going on.

Here’s the finished product. 28 small bottles with 13 pills each.
s

Cleaned up my hot beverage area.
s

Kathy took me to Crazy Ron’s BBQ today for lunch.
d

Love that place. It’s my favorite BBQ, period.
s

German bakery for dessert.
s
Lemon squares!
s

Not as good as my mom’s!

Came home to work on the carpet. It’s quite a procedure.

Vacuum thoroughly.
s
Deep scrub and pretreat with a solution of hot water and Oxyclean.
d

d

Get the carpet cleaner from Lowes.

Mix up the solution. I add extra Oxyclean.
s

Then clean the carpet with the machine.
s

I got the upholster appliance and cleaned the chair where Jesse sits and my two front seats in my car.
d

Cleaned everything.
d

Took back to Lowes.

d
Painted some things gold outside.
s
s

Never too much gold spray paint.
d

Home to work on admin duties and study the slides we have for the presentation tomorrow at FBC Mountain Park.

Back is pretty tired from all the carpet work.
