Podcast! Fence! Mission! Netflix!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:26 pm

The Triplets came to visit me last night.
k

Their eyes can’t see that red light. It looks completely dark to them.

I had an owl visit recently. She was sitting on the ground, just outside of that red cone of light. Birds can see that frequency of light perfectly.

I just cancelled the supply of DVDs from Netflix. I reckon we’ve been watching Netflix movies for at least ten years. We were one of the first.
k
We use streaming exclusively now.

Fun morning: RECORDING!
j

I’ve been worried about some of K’s health issues. So this episode is all about being anxious. Win the battle against “Worry Wars.”

l

I went to Lowes to pick up material to build a temporary fence next to our car port. During the Fall, we have a constant barrage of leaves that come by our door.
j

In the past, I’ve used a netting. I think the aluminum flashing will work better.
k

Then after the leaves are gone, I can roll it back up and put it under the house.
k

Reorganized the things in my back storage area.
k

I needed to get my car ready for Penelope. I’d moved almost everything to make room for the stuff on our trip to the N. Georgia mountains.

The finished product.
k

Stretched out a fresh wire for one of my hummingbird feeders. Cleaned and refilled all four.
k

Worked at the mission with the kids. Not many came today. Not much going on at school I reckon.

k
k

Enough to keep us busy!

I was on hold with Blue Cross Blue Shield for nearly three hours today. I’m setting up Jesse with his own account. Still haven’t gotten to talk to a service agent.
l
Makes me think I need to look at other options.

Repaired holes in my comforter.
k

Best news of the day is that I got to take Penelope home with me tonight. Ashley has an assignment early tomorrow with a friend. The Magnificent Baby is officially on her first sleep over.
k
She really is one of my best friends.

I just realized tonight that I’m the grandfather version of Nana.

Podcast! Editing! Meds! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:07 pm

This morning I had a great time: RECORDING! Yeah, baby!

We are what we tell ourselves we are. Everything is a matter of perspective. Take a look at “Framed.”

Uploaded to my server.
s

Link on Facebook.
s
Edited the video I shot for our team from Savannah, GA.
s

Burned a copy of the video to DVD for them.
s

Uploaded to YouTube.
s

I got an email from another lady who wanted a copy of our latest promo video. Burned a copy of that for her and got that in the mail. The request was from Wisconsin. What?!
s
Last couple of days, I’ve had a low tire pressure warning. The tires all seemed to be the same psi. I boosted them all up another three pounds of pressure. Seems to have fixed the problem.
s

Did the grocery shopping.
s

Came home to put the groceries up.

Then ate a quick lunch.

Got the meds established for Jesse with Express Scripts. Can’t believe how long it takes to get this stuff set up.
s
I’m changing our family plan with BCBS. Jesse will be covered under an individual plan instead. It changes on his birthday this year. I worked on that for thirty minutes. Still didn’t get it resolved. I remember Ashley being on hold with these guys for hours.

Went to the mission to work with the kids. Always awesome to spend time with Ashley and Penelope.
s
s
All the kids love her, too.
s

Ate supper with Jesse.

Watched Mysteries at the Museum with K.

Admin duties now.

This seems really early to me.
s

Reality of the gas line leak. At least we still have regular!
s

Fantastic clouds on the way home.

Southside! Westside!

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:28 pm

Ashley, Penelope and I met up with our team from Southside BC, Savannah, GA at Westside Baptist Church.
s
s
s
Jesse wasn’t feeling well, so Kathy went to go spend time with him. Good ol’ Mama TLC, I reckon.

Our team from Southside decided they should go home earlier than we anticipated because of the rain. I totally get that.

Penelope was her usual awesome self, although when the sermon started I exited stage left with her. Not fair to try to get her to be quiet.

She likes to play with balls.
s

We had fun exploring all the class rooms at Westside. Most are carpeted so she likes that. It’s astonishing how fast she can move and climb stairs. Yow!
s

We had two people accept the Lord this week!
s
s

After eating lunch with the team, I came home to rest and work on admin duties. My next task will be to edit the video I shot for the team.

Ashley, Penelope and I had fun briefing our team from Southside Baptist Church in Savannah, GA this morning!

We did a few of our favorite pieces of the briefing.

Then took them on Safari to Plaza Fiesta for lunch.

I got to take Penelope home with me. Woot!

We met up with K at home and got cleaned up to go to Carl and Pat Barrington’s 60 Birthday Party. Good times with some of my best friends.

P wasn’t sure what to make of it.

Watched an Indian movie with a K.

Penelope is sleeping next to me. Ash and Miles will be around soon to pick her up.

I’m astonished by what people think is ok to drive.

Ellijay! Blue Ridge! JK!

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:31 pm

Jesse, Kathy and I enjoyed a nice time in the N. Georgia mountains this week. GREAT to spend time with loved ones.

On the road.
s
s

We did a lot of walking and riding bikes.
s

This is never a good sign.
s

Suddenly no GPS. What?

Beautiful scenery.

s

s
s
s
s

s

Good shot of a zipper cloud.
s
s

Interesting.
s
s
k

Looked for antiques. Didn’t find anything I liked. Wow. That’s different. Kind of high prices.
s

This Flea Market was crazy.

s
s
In Talking Rock, GA. Cool name.
s

Went here to buy apples.
s
a
My Grandfather had a coke container just like this in his store.
s
They made great sauces.
s

This place had incredible ribs.
s
And their peach cobbler was as good as my Meemaw’s. I don’t say that lightly.

Jesse and I liked checking out this computer store.
s

Enjoyed the food. Especially “Mr. P’s”
s
s
s
I liked their sign.
s
s
s
We missed,
s
Wow.
s

Somehow, Kathy’s bike got messed up. Still not sure exactly how.
s

We are getting it fixed now.

Great to spend time with Jesse!
l

I liked the sound of this.
k
I enjoyed the back country trails.
s

There are many sightings of Sasquatch in the N. Georgia mountains.
s
s
s
s

I liked these minerals.
s
s

Great door.
s
s

This guy made sculptures out of raccoons. Funny, but kind of sad.
s

I liked these but they were expensive.

And then there’s . .

Nice.

What do you see?

We dropped J over at Azalea.

Podcast! KJ! Car! Double Decade Dinner!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:20 pm

Last night I saw three raccoons at my feeder at the same time. I reckon they’re brothers and sister.
s
Hard to get good pictures because of the low light.

Gave myself a hair cut. I always leave the trimmings for the birds. It’s always gone in a matter of hours. Looks kind of like a mustache!
s

This morning I had fun: RECORDING! A terrific episode on the importance of what you say.
s
Pay attention to your “Lip Service.”

Just click on the title and GROOVE!

Uploaded to my server.
s

Link on Facebook.
s
Repaired the hand rail on my staircase. Actually, I just added an additional support. The contractor didn’t try to hit the studs, he just anchored the railing in the sheet rock. Eventually, that’s going to start coming loose. Especially on the ends.

Drilled holes and put the anchors in the sheet rock.
s

This should prevent pulling through again. We’ll see.

Hammered the anchors in.
s

Screwed in the base.
s

Drilled two small holes in the rail.
s

Screwed the other part into the rail.
s

Started cleaning my car. Vacuumed it and moved all the extra stuff in the house to make room for our luggage for our Safari tomorrow to the N. Georgia mountains.
s
s

Enjoyed lunch with Kathy and Jesse.
s
Finished cleaning my car.

Washed.
s
s
s
Even cleaned the hubcaps. Whoa.
s

Hand dried.
s

Cleaned all the windows.
s

Cleaned all the surfaces inside the car.
s

I had a brief rest to watch some Baylor football, then got dressed for our big Double Decade Dinner.

Hard to believe that I’ve been working here for twenty years. Got to say I love it more today than ever!

It was great to see friends and family!
s
s
s
s
s
s
s

s
s
s
s
s

Perhaps my greatest surprise and joy was seeing Tabias.
s
He was one of my original youth group at Azalea. Love him like a son. I really appreciated him making the time to come to the party.

Ashley and I did several pieces of The Show including the Aepyornis Egg, Best Day Ever, Oshe Baba our presentation on Mexican Catholicism and a bit on Buddhism.
s

Tito Ruiz, who is the Treasurer of the Whirlwind Missions board, gave his 20 Favorite Things about Tim Cummins. It was quite moving. We’ve been through a lot together for sure.
s
Another great moment was when Lester, Tito and I did an acapella version of “Cristo Vive,” which was the signature song for our band Cruz. I thought we sounded pretty good for not having played in ten years!

Carl Barrington, the President of our Board gave a great summation of our ministry and the importance of supporting it financially. Love that guy!
s

I had a final prayer and gave them the Aaronic Blessing in Hebrew.
s

After the party, we struck the set. We had about 25 people come, which is almost exactly what I thought would be the case. I think we had 44 people RSVP. People are just so busy. Especially during football season.

I’ve started packing my bags for our trip tomorrow. I’m really glad that Jesse is coming with us. That’ll add an extra element of fun. I’m sure K and I well get plenty of alone time, too. We’ll get Jesse his own room.

Admin duties now.

Podcast! KAP! Package!

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:46 pm

I had a great morning: RECORDING!

Uploaded to my server.
s

Link to Facebook.
s

Met up with Kathy, Ashley and Penelope for lunch. Always fab.
s
s

Set up an account for Jesse to get his meds with Express Scripts. Cheaper and they send it straight to you.
s

Came home to work on sending a package to my friend Anthony Jacquin in the UK.

Got it to the Post Office. Huge line.
s

Cleaned hummingbird feeders.
s

JK and I are going to the N. Georgia mountains for a few days after our Double Decade Dinner. Good to get a break.

I’m trying to get everything ok before I leave.

Edited the video for FBC McDonough, burned a dvd and uploaded the file to YouTube.
s
Burned a dvd of the piece.
s

Got the dvd in the mail.
s
s
Delivered the Financial Report to our Treasurer.
s

K and I are watching an HBO show with Benedict Cumberbatch. It’s ok.

Movie! Lindsey! A&P! Double Decade! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 12:15 am

Star Trek started 50 years ago today! Wow!
l

This morning I went to Norcross to work more on the promo video for FBC McDonough. Shot video at Al Madina.
k

Then met up with Ashley, Penelope and our friend Lindsey from One Heart Church.
ki

k

We also took her on Safari to Kitab, the largest Muslim bookstore in the South.
This was on the door.
op

Then to Party City to decide the colors for the table clothes and plates for the Double Decade Dinner happening this Saturday evening at FBC Doraville.

k

We set up the room in basically the same way as we do The Show.
s

We have less stuff out on display and more tables in the room for eating on. We are planning of forty four people. We’ll see what happens.
l
l

Then to the mission to work with the kids. I still needed video of Ashley and I working at the mission.
l

Ashley did a great job shooting me in action, but it was weird to have me doing the narration and also being in the video. Fortunately, I shot enough of Ashley, P and students that I could cover the audio.

Went to Walmart for Raccoon Chow and cream and sugar for the party.
k
Gassed up the car.
k

Enjoyed hanging out with Jesse this evening. He was coming up with some funny stuff.

My computer is acting weird. Fortunately, after a hard reboot it’s working fine.

Just finished editing the video for FBC McDonough. Take a look at it here.

Admin duties now.

Roadwork near our house. Expanding the bridge!
s

We saw this at Publix when we were buying supplies for the party.
k
Weird name for a wine, right?

If you’re ever at a loss for where to go. This stuff shows up.

Jesse! Ash and P! Movie! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:06 pm

This morning I went to Doraville to shoot video for a promotion that FBC McDonough needs. Started at Asian Square and Plaza Fiesta. At Plaza Fiesta, I picked up Ashley’s dress from our tailor. She did a great job.
s

I met up with Ashley, Penelope and Jesse for lunch.
s
s

Great company. P sat across from me. We had fun smiling at each other the whole time.

Cool Breeze.
s

After lunch, we went to the Buford Highway Farmers Market to shoot the stand ups. Ashley did great on her section. We had a closing shot with Ashley and me holding P and waving. I reckon it’ll be good.
a
s

We met up with Jorge and Hace from Brookhaven Church. I hope we’ll be able to mobilize many people from there.
s

Worked with the kids at the mission. Penelope always makes it more fun.
s
s

Admin duties now. I’ll start editing the McDonough piece in a moment.
