Labels! Azalea 1.31.19 Podcast!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:11 pm

Studied Spanish!

Recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery called, “Hot Shot.”

Picked up the mail at the church.

Dropped off paper for the copies and the newsletters to be copied. FBC Doraville is helping us with the copies. We’ve reduced our newsletter to just the articles that Ashley and I write as well as going with BW copies now. I don’t think either change is a deal breaker. Perhaps over time, the Atlanta Metro Baptist Association will help with it again and we can go back to four pages in color. It was certainly nice while it lasted. But like I said, I don’t think it’s that big a deal, really.

I spent a couple of hours labeling all the envelopes while I studied Ode to Immortality by William Wordsworth.

Went by Taco Veloz on the way to Azalea to get a quick lunch. I love the paintings there.

Deposited the checks I picked up.

Enjoyed reading some Walt Whitman this evening.

Good time at the mission with the kids. Not a lot. Still pretty cold!

Clear skies and a beautiful sun.

Studied Tito’s sermon on the way home in Spanish/English.
Folded up the newsletters and got them in the envelopes. I’ll put them in the mail tomorrow morning on the way to the mission.

Gassed up my car.

COLD! Podcast! BO4! 1.30.19

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:47 pm

Super cold last night! Polar Vortex!

Received an email from DuoLingo that they had accepted an edit I made in their Spanish program! I’ve added at least 20 such edits to their Swahili version.

The Swahili version was so bad that I final quit trying because I was having to memorize really weird English sentences that basically made no sense.

I keep studying Spanish.

Recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery.

Reading Stealing Fire.

No after school program today because the schools were closed.

Played Black Ops 4.

Watched the Magicians.

Rested.

Got a new cable for Ashley’s car.

Looks like the temperatures are going to plummet.

Did the shopping at Walmart in preparation. I always see interesting signage.

I am so proud of my city! I love it here!

Resting. Still pretty tired from the weekend.

AL to ATL! 1.29.18

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:04 pm

Got up early this morning and studied, what a surprise!

After a good breakfast, we piled into the Jeep and headed back to the ATL. In all, our trip was around three hours. Glad we missed the bad weather!

Although Everly is better this morning, she didn’t sleep well. The girls were pretty tired out!

I went through all my memory verses and studied poetry. Working on Wordsworth now.
I love driving through the ATL! We are ready to welcome the world!

My favorite city!

Also listened to radio from Madrid.

After I dropped the girls off at their apartment and unloaded their gear, I went by FBC Doraville to put our supplies back up.

Checked the mail at the church.
Watered my plants.

Played some Black Ops 4.

New Prospect! FBC Prattville! 1.27.19

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:12 pm

Studied Español.

Sweet little Everly really broke out from the inoculation shot.

She still has a great attitude and doesn’t seem any worse for wear.
I love these “sunflower” shots.

The girls and I spoke at New Prospect BC in Marbury, AL. It was one of the eleven churches that missionaries spoke out this morning.

We also spoke to their youth department!

Fun group!

After lunch and a short rest we went back to FBC Prattville where we spoke to three other groups.

Then to the sanctuary for the big missions service. I got the Union Jack flag!

My friend from Georgetown High School, Dr. Jay Wolf was the main speaker at the service. He’s the Pastor at FBC Montgomery, AL.

Never too many flags!

Ashley and Everly gave our prayer request. She nailed it.

Afterwards, The congregation gathered around us and prayed for us.

Soon, we decided to go on back to the hotel. It was just too much for the girls. No nap. Super long day. We just needed to go.

Came back to the hotel. Ate some pizza and Krispy Kreme doughnuts. A nice topping to a superb day. We really did “leave it on the field.” Maximum effort pays off.

FBC Prattville! Conference! 1.26.19

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:02 pm

Super cold today! Froze the water in the bird bath! When I left the house, it was still 26 degrees!

I always think frost is beautiful.

Picked up Ashley and the girls this morning! Went on Safari to Prattville, AL! This terrific church has partnered with Whirlwind Missions for years!

We stopped at the rest area when we got to the Alabama state line. I liked this poster.

Studied Spanish on the way to Alabama and when we got to the hotel.

The church was ready for us!

We had the Missions Fair for the children this evening.

Great time with the kids.

Glad to meet the Pastor!

Fun fair!

Delicious supper with friends

Love this little sweetheart!

Holiday Inn Express is a really nice place. I stayed at their sister hotel in Birmingham.

Admin duties now.

Sunday morning, the girls and I will be speaking at New Prospect Baptist Church. We look forward to it!

2 Way! Podcast! Newsletter! 1.25.19

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:35 pm

Thursday evening, Jesse helped me do a distance test with my new 2 way radios. Ashley helped me in Chamblee and we got about a mile of usable distance. The same was true by our house. Both areas are pretty hilly and lots of buildings to interfere with the signal, but still pretty good. In an open area they should do a lot better.

Studied Español.

Did you know that in Spanish you don’t capitalize language’s names?
Doesn’t look right to me unless I do.

I guess it’s my culture.

Did research on the range of 2 way radios and why it works that way.

Released Verbal Surgery -630- “Track Attraction.”

Wrote my newsletter.

Printed the labels.

I haven’t been feeling great. Still coughing, although I don’t really spit up much. Spent most of the day in bed resting.

Played some BO4.

Watched some shows on Netflix and read my new book by Todd Rundgren.

Going to sleep early tonight if possible. Then head towards Chamblee tomorrow around 9:00 am. It’s a pretty long drive to Prattville from the ATL. It’s just outside of Montgomery, AL about 3 hours from home.

Met up with Howard Greer and Spencer from Eagle’s Landing BC. Took them on Safari to the Buford Highway Farmer’s Market. Great lunch. Showed them how to interact with people in the market.

Went to FBC Doraville to get all the supplies that Ashley and I will need for our Safari to FBC Prattville for their missions conference this weekend.

Helped the kids at the mission.

Went by FBC Doraville to check on the mail and to see if they will help us with our newsletters. They said, “Yes.” Amen!

Poetry! Jon & Mark! Mission! 1.22.19

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:25 pm

Studied poetry last night. Pretty much have Death nailed. Working on Wordsworth now.

Pretty cold in my room last night. In fact, may have been the coldest I’ve ever slept through, 51.5!

I’ve only used my heater once so far this year. I got it out again today!

I woke up kind of hoarse this morning. Not good. I have a big conference I’m speaking at this weekend.

Studied Spanish!

Little bit every day with grammar. Plus listening to Tito’s bilingual sermons on the ride home which is usually at least 45 minutes.
Great lunch with my friend Jon Paul and his son Mark. Two of my favorites!

Part of my Contact Resolution for 2019 is to set up the next get together before we leave.

I got Todd Rundgren’s new book in the mail today! He’s been a huge musical influence for me and a fascinating character. I’ve met him twice and look forward to when he’s doing his concert/book tour this year!

Froze the water in my bird baths.

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery -629- “Heart A Lack.”

Have more more passion and joy in your life. Click on the title and GROOVE!

Uploaded the episode to my server.

Recorded a new episode of VS this afternoon called “Get Younger!” It’s a new favorite! I now have over two weeks “in the can” waiting for release.

I’m especially diligent about feeding the wild animals during severe cold spells.

Did the grocery shopping. One of the heaviest strollers ever.

Just saying.

The trunk in my car started giving me problems a couple of days ago. It wasn’t closing properly. Today, it refused to open. Took it to my mechanic. He showed me the release switch from the inside, but had to take off the cover in the back.

Rained about 2.5″ at my house over the weekend.

Checked the mail at the church.

Helped the kids at the mission. When it’s so cold, few kids come out. Don’t blame them. Enjoyed hanging out with the grandgirls.
