Grandgirls! K! Stn. Mtn! Yellow River! Doggie Park! 3.11.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:46 pm

I was up at 5:30 studying Spanish. Went to sleep early!

OYB!

Palabras!

Walmart forgot to put a couple of items in. K’s gum!

K was with me to pick up the girls this morning. Love ALL my girls!

Cloudy and cool.

We went up to “Camp Site One” on Stone Mountain this morning.

Girls had fun playing in the forest. I was talking to them about kindling.

Good little hike.

I loved the tiny plants.

Misty day.

Beauty all around.

Reflections.

We stopped at the German Bakery on the way home to get lemon squares.

Went to the Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary late this afternoon.

The Ring-Tailed Lemurs were my favorite. They were bouncing all around their enclosure. They were super cool.

Fun!

Hank the Turkey followed us around the park.

We also went to the Doggie Park. Miles’ dad Jimmy came over to our house to pick them up. Fun packed day!

Everly! Nature Walk! Azalea! Mustak! 3.10.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:06 pm

Penelope and I had fun this afternoon looking through old pictures of the girls as they were growing up. So beautiful!

Sugar dog.

I transported squirrel 201 today. No, it will never end. At least this process has stopped them from getting into my house.

I worked on Kathy’s paperwork for her job this morning. I think we got everything figured out correctly. Hope so.

As I was working on scheduling, I noticed that Daylight Savings Time starts this weekend. Love the light later. Not digging having to get up so much earlier. C’est la vie!

Español!

Love my girls!

Adelante!

Deposited checks.

Cold mass of air headed our way this weekend.

I took Everly for a walk this morning. Focused on nature but also explained signage and different types of ribbons that surveyors use.

Miles turned me onto one of my favorite apps called “Picture It.” Pretty much knows every natural thing you take a picture of. Groovy!

I’m always explaining tracking and bush skills that I’ve picked up over the decades.

What made this? Why does it reflect light? Lots of cause and effect questions that make her really think why things happen.

Helped the kids with their homework. While I was out there, one of my kids from a decade ago dropped by to see me! Mustak was always one of my favorites. He’s working as a computer programmer these day. He jumped right in and helped another kid with his math homework. Great to see him!

Lots of the questions we work on are pretty challenging. This is sixth grade homework. Tutoring kids tests my knowledge on huge amounts of information. Literally every subject taught in school. I really love it and am always learning and reviewing.

Bought pizza for the grandgirls and gave the left overs to the kids at the mission. Everybody wins.

The kids are such a blessing me. 25 years of doing this work in the same place this year.

Went by my office to check the mail. The kids have off from school today. With the price of gas as it is, I probably won’t go back to Doraville until next week.

Grandgirls! Goodwill! Azalea! Squirrel 200! 3.9.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:36 pm

A real drop in temperature headed our way.

OYB!

Rained.

Love my girls!

That is really something.

Went to Goodwill to look for a bike for Penelope. Found a little toy for Everly that she really liked. Nothing that fit Penelope, however.

Streetlights were out a major intersections on my way to pick up Everly. Called Gwinnett County to let them know.

Went by where Kathy works to try and figure out her certification awards and the grant that comes from that.

Español.

Deposited checks.

I will call this to see an update on what’s going on. They tore up the road and left it that way for the last two weeks. Not happy.

Rained 2″ yesterday.

Filled up some jugs with tap water for my plants.

Cleaned out the birdbaths and refilled feeders.

Worked out on weights.

Worked on reserving space for our team coming in July.

Trying to figure out housing options for the team. That includes where they could get showers.

The girls liked their little toys.

Helped the kids with their homework. When they have reading homework I try the best I can to translate it from English into Spanish. The kids do the same thing so it’s a win-win. Lots of words I still don’t know.

Sunflower.

I enjoy interacting with the kids. Especially when I can help them figure things out for the first time.

Harry!

Picked up groceries.

Worked on trying to help K with her certification. Still not sure what numbers she needs.

When I got home this evening, there was a squirrel in the trap I set. Dropped it off a few miles away. That one marked the 200th squirrel I’ve relocated. How many have come back to my area? I have no idea. Once it gets warm again, I take a lot out of here. Haven’t had any more getting into my house, so what I’m doing must be working.

Bike! German Bakery! Azalea! Frida Kahlo! Podcast! 3.8.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:31 pm

As I’ve studied Spanish, I’ve been reading about one artist in particular: Frida Kahlo. I’ve seen her image many times before because Ashley painted her portrait and has it in her dining room! So I started researching her and her images.

This is the one Ashley painted. I believe it’s a paint by the numbers edition. Beautiful.

I’m looking forward to watching this as well. Warhol is one of my favorite modern artists. I really enjoyed the exhibit at the High Museum here in the ATL a few years ago.

I’ve never seen anything like this before.

I like this.

OYB!

Lot of rain!

Beautiful clouds this morning.

Love my girls!

Good fruit breakfast!

Español!

Everly put on one of the new jackets we got from Goodwill recently. We matched!

Adelante!

My bike has needed a brake adjustment. With the rainy weather, I figured it was a good time to see if I could get it worked on. They said, “Bring it on over!” so I did.

The rear V-Brake Calipers were worn out. My bike is about 25 years old, so it didn’t surprise me!

I really like dealing with these guys. They really know their stuff.

I took Everly over to the German Bakery in Stone Mountain for lunch. It was so good. Especially the lemon squares!

Transported another squirrel. I’ll be doing that a lot for the next few months.

Helped the kids with their homework.

Made a reservation for the conference room in a couple of weeks.

Ordered groceries.

Once I got home, I dried my bike completely off (it was soaked!) then rubbed it down with a thin coating of WD40. Also sprayed all the moving parts (except the chain and gears which take another type of lubricant) with WD40. The reason my bike is in such good shape after a quarter century is because I take really good care of her. I’ve ridden thousands of miles over the years.

Locked up and ready for the next ride.

Released Verbal Surgery “What Now?” So good.

Anthony! Podcast! Rain! HFW! 3.7.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:35 pm

I talked with my Mom last night before I picked up Jessi from work.

Had a great chat with my buddy Anthony. Always fun.

I thought this was funny. It’s a name generator.

What is YOUR destiny?

OYB!

Español! I studied hard today. Mondays I always try to put extra time in.

This sentence took me quite a while to get right.

Cloudy and turned rainy today. It’s easy to see where the air masses collide.

Transported a squirrel.

Harry!

Scrubbed my shoes.

I called Comcast about the internet bill. While I was talking to them I discovered that I had HBO Max because I had complained about another issue and they gave it to me for free. I got it working.

I recorded an episode of Verbal Surgery called, “Name Game.” It’s a good one!

Enjoying playing Horizon Forbidden West. Such a fun game.

Anthony! Workshop! Bike! Plants! 3.6.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:06 pm

Weird.

Preach.

OYB!

Perfect.

Had a great talk with Anthony. Then participated in his Self-hypnosis seminar which was fun.

Español!

Great bike ride. Getting stronger all the time.

Watered my plants. So beautiful.

Enjoyed playing Horizon Forbidden West.

Cleaning! Bank! Bike! Podcast! 3.5.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:24 pm

Physics humor.

Exactly!

The Mild Bunch.

Pop!

When in doubt, swan dive.

My forebears.

Español!

My taxes got to my tax guys. Amen.

It actually stayed clear most of the day.

OYB!

I started my Verbal Surgery podcast twelve years ago today!

Adelante!

Got a new hat from England! My buddy Anthony says that in the UK it has the same ring as wearing the MAGA hat. Wasn’t crazy about that! But I still like the hat. It reminds me of when I visited Richard the Lion Heart’s castle in France.

Cleaned out a fan.

Deposited checks.

Got gas and added some oil. Man, prices have really jumped.

I liked this sticker. I thought the Netflix live action version of Cowboy Bebop was good. I was sorry they cancelled it.

Cleaned the vacuum cleaner after using it. Meta.

Seems like there’s always some medicine to pick up.

Found $1.00. Always good for a “dirty money” player like myself. It marks the second dollar bill I’ve found this year. Along with a silver class ring!

I rode my bike with only my usual Hawaiian shirt on today. No jackets at all. Fantastic.

Even the petals of Pink Magnolia on the ground are beautiful.

After my bike ride, I rested an enjoyed playing Horizon Forbidden West. What a fantastic game, and I’m only getting started in it!

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery “The Duolingo Effect.” this evening. I’m in the top .01% of over 30 million students.

Added checks to our donation spread sheet.

Anthony! Nathan! Plaza Fiesta! Azalea! 3.4.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:48 pm

Teehee.

Español!

OYB!

Palabras!

Beauty!

Love my girls!

Everly is always such a joy to me.

The garbage was supposed to be picked up on Wednesday. I called them today to complain. Supposed to be tomorrow.

I liked how Everly sorts things.

Had a fun talk with my buddy Anthony.

Deposited checks.

My Pink Magnolias are so beautiful!

Azaleas are starting to bloom.

Had a good time with my buddy Nathan from Rockbridge Baptist Church. He’s the Senior Adult minister. We’ll be hosting a group from there soon.

Everly and I showed him around Plaza Fiesta. I saw him to his car and then let Everly play on the playground for a while.

Helped the kids with their homework.

Ordered some screen protectors for one of the families at the mission.

Harry!

Beautiful sunset.

Crescent moon.

Vacuumed the house when I got home.

Picked up Jessi from work.

Everly! Bike! Jon! Azalea! Jouvens/Tabias/Jim! 3.3.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:39 pm

Such a great day!

OYB!

Español!

Gorgeous.

Love my girls!

Global Mall!

I took Everly and her new bike to the Lilburn City Park bike trails.

Good walk! Next time I’ll take my bike too!

Did some research for the team coming in a couple of weeks. We’ll be focusing on Hinduism.

Came home to enjoy banana smoothies after the walk/ride.

Adelante!

I put the bike rack on my car today so we could ride together. Not easy to get the straps adjusted.

Everly was focused on sorting ducks and other things.

Had a fantastic time with my dear friend Jon Paul! He’s getting married this summer. He’s been having a hard time since his wife died two years ago. SO glad about this news!

Never too much Penelope!

A blast from the past with three of the men who were in my original youth group from my ministry here at Azalea Place apartments 25 years ago!

They are like sons to me. Jouvens just got back from Haiti. Tabias and Jimmy are both working in the food industry. They are all doing well. I took them to supper then went over to my office to look through the massive collection of photos that I have from our early days together. It was an hilarious time!

Worked with the kids at Azalea. They drew some art for me.

The price of gas jumped another .20c this evening. Damn Russians.

Everly! Bike! Car! Azalea! Podcast! 3.2.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:55 pm

I’ll probably order another set.

Get a head in life.

OYB!

I’ll do an episode of Verbal Surgery about this topic soon.

Español!

Love my girls!

My little partner!

Gorgeous, mild weather.

Everly and I went to Goodwill and found her a new bike to ride. Her old one disappeared. Sadly, the back tire (always the hardest to change!) had a flat. Had to got to Walmart to pick up another tube and then install it. Had trouble with one little bolt, otherwise pretty easy.

She had fun playing with her dolls.

Español!

Washed my car.

Cleaned all the birdbaths.

Filled up some water jugs to use on the plants that don’t need distilled water.

Everly enjoyed riding her new bike. It’s a lot bigger than the one she used to learn on.

Picked up the newsletters, folded them, added the “Stay on the Team” page to about twenty, and got them all into the mail.

Everly drew me a picture of some flowers.

Worked with the kids at the mission.

Picked up groceries on the way home.

Released Verbal Surgery “WYSIWYG” this evening. Excellent!
