ISS! Covid! Podcast! Yard Work! 4.5.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:31 pm

Sunday night I saw the International Space Station for the 68th time! A short viewing of only about three minutes. Tonight, I should also be able to see it.

Downloaded my recording of “You Beauty” onto my Mac.

Studied Spanish.

Had a good night’s sleep.

OYB!

Paid bills, including a big payment towards my Mastercard bill.

I had planned on getting a second Covid test today.

When I went to talk to the medics they said a second test wasn’t necessary if I haven’t had fever for more than three days, which I haven’t. They also said that the test they gave would show positive for thirty days since first contracting the virus. I’ve had only fourteen days, so they didn’t think it would be worthwhile for me.

My poison ivy is a bit better. The aloe vera seems to be helping dry it out.

Beautiful day.

Went to Stone Mountain to record “Off/On,” a new episode of Verbal Surgery. Super good one.

I had a good chat with a friend of mine whose grandmother is going through chemo for her pancreas. Prayed for her.

I’m looking forward to seeing the grandgirls tomorrow. It’s Spring Break at Stone Mountain so everything should be open. We will probably go early so we can beat the lines. All of us have had covid so I’m not nearly as uptight about the crowds as I was before.

The dogwoods are gorgeous.

Came home to clean the garage, front porch and driveway. I blew it and then washed all the surfaces. It was a LOT of work, in particular because I’m still feeling kind of tired. That also included all the walls of the house in the area and the cars.

The final job was to drain the water hose and do the best I could to untwist it. Hard.

Looks way better.

Came inside, cleaned all my clothes and took a shower. I wore a mask to help with all that pollen affecting me.

Played some Last of Us Part 2.

I normally have been taking a nap in the afternoon. Didn’t today so I can go to sleep around 9pm. I’ll be getting up at 7:15 to pick up the girls tomorrow. I’m looking forward to having them, but my body still needs to rest.

Easter! Podcast! Calls! Poison Ivy! 4.4.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:22 pm

I have two different Poem a Day subscriptions. I liked this one.

And these quotes.

Did you know this?

These look interesting.

Studied, you guessed it.

OYB!

Been awhile since I’ve seen the ISS due to cloudiness.

Went to Stone Mountain. Recorded “You Beauty!”

Talked with my Mom and Anthony.

The baking element in my oven broke. Had to order another.

My poison ivy is better but still pretty painful. I’ve been putting aloe vera on it. Seems to be helping dry out the blisters.

Usually when I get it, it’s only a little bit like on my left arm.

Since I no longer am contagious with Covid, I don’t see the point of having my groceries delivered. It was helpful while we were sick.

Pollen! Calls! Baylor! 4.3.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:24 pm

The pollen seems to be lessening. I’m seeing these pods on the ground now.

The wysteria that I transplanted is doing better.

The poison ivy that I got from digging up the wysteria also seems a bit better. I’ve been putting aloe vera on it today and it seems to be helping dry it out.

Talked with my Mom for a bit over two hours. Always great to catch up.

Had a quick chat with my buddy Anthony.

This sort of thing always makes me sad. Why cut down these magnificent trees?

Downloaded the edition of Verbal Surgery onto my Mac.

OYB!

Studied Spanish.

Still wondering how the Summer will go. Teams are trying to figure out the Covid situation.

I enjoyed watching Baylor win their basketball game!

Podcast! Calls! Poison Ivy! 4.2.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:47 pm

Studied Spanish! I do lessons and then listen to stories. I also listen to books on Audible as well as televnovelas on Netflix. Everything in Spanish.

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery called “Fear Patterns.” So good.

OYB!

Had a great talk with my Mom.

Got a couple of packages from a supporter of ours for the grandgirls! Looking forward to seeing them on Tuesday.

I have had one of the worst cases of poison ivy ever. It’s mainly because I wasn’t aware I’d come into contact with it. Usually, I have a neutralizer that I wash myself in that takes care of the problem before it gets bad. The blisters are really pretty bad.

Podcast! Calls! Jon! 4.1.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:58 pm

Studied Spanish!

Beautiful day, but way cooler.

OYB! Keep studying!

Added the edition of Verbal Surgery that I recorded yesterday to my Mac.

Pollen is still bad.

The hysteria is so beautiful right now. It reminds me of the jacaranda trees in Kenya.

My new favorite poem is Wind by Gwendolyn Bennett. I studied about her this morning.

I called my Mom today and had the bonus of talking with my nieces Sadie and Harper. That was an unexpected blessing!

I also had a fun chat with my buddy, Anthony.

Then went over to visit with my friend Jon Paul. We used to get together regularly. Great to see him again!

Covid! Podcast! Calls! 3.31.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:59 pm

I’m feeling stronger every day. I’m still tired and resting a lot but no fever. Glad to have the rain so the air is cleaner from pollen.

Hard to believe it could freeze tomorrow night.

I thought this was interesting. Google maps will now show the most eco-friendly route to travel.

This was a terrific movie. I enjoyed seeing how we can save the planet by better farming practices.

Studied Spanish. I’m also watching a Netflix series in Spanish called Club de los Cuervos. I’m enjoying it so far.

I look up a lot of words.

Downloaded the episode of Verbal Surgery I recorded yesterday onto my Mac.

When I got the Wysteria from FBC Doraville, I got poison ivy on my arms. Weird, since I didn’t see any at all. This stuff usually helps.

My cherry blossom tree put out some flowers. Yeah! They are almost exactly two years old from when I planted them.

Went to Stone Mountain to record and make calls. It rained almost the entire time I was there. Washing a lot of pollen out of the air. Amen!

I love Wysteria! I can’t wait to have it bloom around my house.

I had a good chat with my Mom and my buddy Anthony.

I got an email from my partners at Peachtree Corners Baptist Church that the are sending $1,500 to pay for our septic tank. PTL!

Newsletters! Podcast! Calls! 3.30.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:22 pm

I thought this was funny.

Church attendance is now less than 50% in the USA.

I got all the newsletters folded and stuffed last night.

Studied Spanish.

In order to continue progress on Duolingo, I had to pass a checkpoint test which was pretty hard.

Released an episode of Verbal Surgery called “The First Time.”

Downloaded the episode I recorded Monday onto my Mac’s hard drive.

OYB!

Mild today. Looks like really cold weather is coming. I’ll bring in a couple of the plants that I took outside. Hopefully, the Wysteria that I just planted will be able to withstand it.

Got the newsletters into the mail.

Great talk with Anthony and with my Mom.

Finished the first season of the Irregulars on Netflix. I thought it was pretty good.

Podcast! Newsletters! Wysteria! 3.29.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:32 pm

OYB!

Beautiful day!

Studied Spanish.

Went to Stone Mountain to record an episode of Verbal Surgery called, “Clogs and Logs.”

Left a couple of voice mails for my Mom. Hopefully, we’ll get in contact tomorrow.

Wysteria and Cherry Blossom mix. Two of my very favorites.

Had my groceries delivered this evening.

Went to my office to pick up the newsletters and check the mail.

There are huge amounts of Wysteria around the FBC Doraville property. I dug up some vines to plant around my house.

I found it does a lot better if you can find where the vines have started to root to make new plants.

I took the little vines and planted about ten new plants around trees in my front and side yards.

Added stamps to the newsletter envelopes and folded and stuffed them. I’ll put them in the mail tomorrow.

Newsletters! Labels! Office! Bank! 3.28.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:24 pm

I liked this.

Tweaked Ashley’s newsletter. Added some pictures that weren’t so dark and shifted her layout slightly.

Pollen is unbelievable right now.

Did the labels and stuffed the envelopes. I still need stamps and the newsletter to get printed to finish the job.

Picked up checks at the office and dropped off the newsletters. I was super careful. Double masked as well as took disinfectant spray and sprayed everywhere I went and all the surfaces.

Gassed up my car. Checked oil and cleaned the windshield.

Dropped some mail off at Ashley’s house. I just snuck in and left it. Too tired to interact with anyone.

Studied Spanish.

OYB!

Another big storm blew through. We hardly got any rain. I was hoping it’d pour down and clear the air.

Watered my plants.

Got stamps. I wiped everything down with disinfectant and sprayed the room and all the surfaces before I left. I went when the place was empty. Also double masked.

Fabulous sunset.

Covid! Calls! Podcast! Pollen! Newsletter! 3.27.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:31 pm

Studied Spanish.

OYB!

Went to Stone Mountain to make calls, work on my newsletter and record an episode of Verbal Surgery called “Fear Patterns.”

The pollen was like green fog out there. Wow!

It was beautiful, but I’m looking forward to the rain tomorrow to help clear out the air.

Worked on my newsletters.

Printed labels.

Downloaded the two episodes of Verbal Surgery onto my Mac.

Resting now. I’ve been sleeping at least ten hours every night plus an hour nap in the afternoons.
