Walk! Nana! Indian! Azalea! Move! 12.12.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:49 pm

OYB!

Español!

Walk 2.07 miles.

Gassed up the car and added some oil.

Kathy let me know that she hit one of the columns at Young World where she works. I talked to our car insurance guy about it. We are covered.

I took Nana to get Indian food today. Excellent! After lunch, we went to the sweet shop and met the owner who used to live in Nairobi for 40 years! Wow!

Helped the kids at the mission.

Aired up one of the kid’s bikes.

While I was working with the kids, Miles took the family over to see the new house that they’re renting. Not a great time to buy a house!

Beautiful sunset.

Seems like I’m always sewing up one of the map jackets. They are really thin.

Nana! Watch! PE! Gym! Cold! 12.11.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:11 pm

OYB!

COLD! Not bad with multiple jackets.

Español!

Walked 2.33 miles.

We went by Walgreens to try and get Nana’s blood pressure medicine refilled. Hopefully, the reply from the doctor will come in soon.

I sent back the Christmas lights I didn’t like to Amazon. UPS has a drop off center that is easy to use.

Went to Walmart to get Nana’s watch battery replaced. The lady in that department was very knowledgeable and got it fixed right quick.

Found some gum for K.

Moved our little Christmas tree back to the living room and put the lights on her.

Nana and I went for Mexican food then picked up the girls at the bus.

I brought the single bar gymnastics set over to Azalea and set it up. The girls had a lot of fun on it.

Went by my office to pick up checks. Processed and deposited them.

Took Everly to Taco Veloz for huevos rancheros.

We had a good time visiting with Miles and Ashley. What a blessing.

Love the sunsets during the winter.

Laundry! Plants! Nana! 12.10.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:36 pm

OYB!

Español! I came in #4.

Rainy today.

Ordered groceries.

Got Thai food for J and me. K went to help get her sister from the hospital while we ate.

Beauty all around.

I ordered some frames for the grandgirl’s art work.

Did the laundry.

Going to freeze this evening, so I brought my carnivorous plants inside.

Went to the airport to pick up Nana.

They had a big tree there.

Listened to Don Cheto while I watched football and waited for Nana’s plane to get in.

Great to see my Mom!

I always think this sign on the wheelchairs is funny.

Picked up my groceries on the way home from the airport. The weather took a drastic turn for the cold!

I liked the sign that K put on the door as a greeting.

Anthony! Fluids! Room Prep! Podcast!

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:58 pm

Just keep going.

OYB!

Español!

Wet today.

Nana is flying into the ATL tomorrow! Looks like all kinds of weather.

I keep moving. Miss biking, but I really don’t like riding when it’s cold. Like under 70!

Fun chat with my buddy, Anthony.

Checked the transmission fluid in my car. It was a little low. Transmission fluid (Merkon V) looks cool. I was amazed that I had a funnel that would actually work for this job. The place where you pour the transmission fluid was about ten inches under wiring. I had to have a nozzle with a very long snout. I have no idea when I bought that.

Also checked and added oil to Kathy’s truck.

I then refill my quart bottle from the large one.

I set up Nana’s bed. Washed everything and got it all back in. Our house is kind of like living in a college dorm. None of our stuff matches.

Confirmed the ticket for my Mom. Looks like all the times are the same.

My new Christmas lights came in! Amazon sent me the wrong color. I wanted bright white lights, they sent me blue.

I repaired a light that I have in Nana’s room.

Recorded and released a new episode of Verbal Surgery called “Brute Force.” Really good and very helpful.

Walk! Leaves! 12.8.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:19 pm

OYB!

Español!

Walked 1.89 miles.

There was a guy moving dirt on the empty lot near the front of our subdivision. I told him in strong terms that there is a Stop Work order and he should not be doing any dirt work there. Ended up having to call the Code Enforcement department on them.

Worked on my front yard today. I got pretty much all the leaves out of the yard into my recycling areas. Today I spent some time taping the power cord into the blower. I’ll leave that cord dedicated to the blower. Usually, I have to reinsert that cord at least once every five minutes. Zero today after the tape.

There were a lot of leaves still to be picked up.

I also collected some mycelium for Jessi’s mushroom project.

I did all the front yard. By the time I finished, I was working by street lamp light.

That was a hard job.

It’s supposed to start raining again tomorrow. I stayed out later just so I could get finished. Once the leaves are wet, I’d have to wait for day for everything to get dry. Wet leaves are super heavy.

I’ll take a series of “after” shots tomorrow. Too dark this evening to shoot it properly.

Walk! Roof! Car! Penelope’s Show! 12.7.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:21 pm

When the competition is close, I work harder.

OYB!

Español!

Walked 2.37 miles.

I checked with my car guys about the type of auto transmission fluid to put in my car. I’ll probably be adding a little bit soon. I’m supposed to use Merkon, which is what I ordered at Walmart.

The flag on my mailbox is broken. I’m doing my normal repair utilizing tape. This one I put strapping tape first, then covered it with electrical tape. I thought it looks pretty good now. The strapping tape was a good surface to adhere the electrical tape. The tape by itself looked crappy. Although it did work.

Spent the morning studying Spanish and blowing the roof.

Blew off the deck after finishing the roof and gutters.

Blew the front porch area and the driveway.

Did my laundry.

Listened to Don Cheto. It’s really a challenge to listen to because much of the time there are several people talking.

Cleaned off the area outside my door.

I moved the base of the birdbath I used to have to my back yard. That thing was supper heavy. I had to get my dolly out.

Washed my car.

I met up with Ashley, Miles and Penelope at Balance Gymnastics. We were there to watch Everly.

Winter is a great time for watching birds at the feeders. I had a pair of pileated woodpeckers in my yard today. They’re the size of crows.

Dried it off with a towel to get the last of the dirt.

Got the girls some Robux for their games. I’d planned on getting them some for their birthdays, but they hadn’t need any until recently.

Swept the kitchen floor.

Helped the kids with their homework.

Went to Huntley Hills Elementary to see the kids do their presentation. Penelope was gorgeous.

I loved the colors at sunset.

The place was packed.

Family!

Push.

Walk! Anthony! Azalea! 12.6.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:00 pm

Walked 3.22 miles. Sixteen hills.

OYB!

Español!

Refilled food supply for outside animals.

Mighty cold today. At least it was this evening.

Helped the kids with their homework. I brought out blankets and jackets for kids to use.

One of the kids corrected my Spanish (which I actually really appreciate) today. I asked someone if they wanted a “Blanketa” which I thought was blanket. She asked me, “What did you just say, Mr. Tim?” When I told her what I’d said she told me the word was “Cobija.” To help me remember it I’ll think about Kobe Bryant wrapped up in a blanket.

Kathy came with me to the mission this afternoon. We had a nice supper together with the girls. I went with Everly to see her new trick on the tree.

Beauty!

Jon Paul! PE! Azalea! 12.5.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:36 pm

OYB!

Español!

Jessi and I enjoy working with mushrooms.

Good lunch with my buddy Jon Paul. Always a blessing.

Listened to Don Cheto.

Left a message for my Mom.

I enjoyed taking the grandgirls to Arby’s. They have a big table with captain’s chairs, the tall kind. They had fun sitting on them.

Helped the kids at the mission with their homework. A couple of the boys like doing art projects. I thought the ones he did today were terrific.

The kids remarked on how beautiful the tree leaves were.

I picked up my groceries. Mainly it was the dry dog food.

Went by my office to check the mail.

I’m returning my new red Champion hoodie. The zipper didn’t work. They’re now made with these cheap plastic zippers. Gigantic downgrade. Sad.

Just keeping pushing.

Duolingo! Walk! PE! Bank! 12.4.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:54 pm

This is crazy.

Interesting.

I thought that the #1 and #2 languages studied in the USA are Spanish and English!

Came in #3 this week in the leagues. I also got my year end report from Duolingo.

OYB!

Walked 2.99 miles.

Mortgage is looking good. Looks like I’ll have about $200 a month less to pay. That will go straight into credit card debt.

Bit cold but beautiful.

Figuring out the calendar with my Mom coming here soon, when the girls are in or out of school and when Ashley will be there on Thursdays or not.

Ordered groceries.

Took the girls over to the Buford Highway Farmers Market for lunch. They were both really hungry.

Deposited checks. Thank you, Jesus.

Listened to Don Cheto.

Helped the kids at the mission. Mainly second graders today and a high schooler.

Beautiful colors in the sky.

Picked up my groceries.

Got gas and checked the oil. Added a little.

Very tight group of the top four. It’s astonishing really how much I respond these numbers every week. Depending on the competition I could easily put in another three hours of studying in the week.

Hanukkah! Sweep! Transmission! Podcast! 12.3.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 4:07 pm

Hanukkah starts this evening!

OYB!

Español!

Short walk today. Wanted to record.

Swept the kitchen.

Trying to get my head straight as to when I’ll be watching the grandgirls over the Christmas break.

Checked my transmission fluid. Hard to tell exactly what the level is. I think I may need to add a little bit. Checked on the stick for the make and model of what I need.

Recorded and released a new episode of Verbal Surgery called, “What Makes Me Good, Makes Me Bad.” Excellent!

I should come in #3 this week. My goal is just to stay in the top three. That’s the main thing that Duolingo keep track of that the other students can see. When I get a couple of thousand ahead at the end of the week, I have a tendency not to study quite as hard, like today.
