Wills! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:51 pm

I rained over 1 1/2″ over the last two days.
s

This morning I took Ashley into Decatur to pick up the car she’s using. She and her girlfriends are headed to the beach for a few days. It’s their tenth anniversary of graduating from High School.

Picked up Kathy and we drove to Roswell to meet with our lawyer who is also Kathy’s brother, David.
s

We’ve recently updated our wills to include our house.

s
s
K and I had a nice lunch together. Then I brought her back home so she could go to work.

I turned back around and went to Chamblee to work with the kids.
s
s
s

s
s

I like Tamid’s marketing project.
s

Plenty to keep me busy.

When I’d finished working with the kids, I did a quick clean up/put up of the mission. I think it’s best to at least start the week with a little organization.
s

J and I ate supper together at 5 Guys. He’s been feeling a little under the weather. I’m glad he’s able to rest.

Watched the end of an excellent movie called Storm Surfers. It’s the story of these two Australian surfers got at the biggest waves in the world. Amazing photography.

Hike! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:01 pm

This morning I did a test hike with my backpack.
s
The time to figure out any weaknesses in my system is by actually using the gear.

Glad to say the bag was super comfortable. I did 2.72 miles in about an hour with a full pack in my very hilly neighborhood. I figure I need to be able to do at least 5 miles, if nothing else but to help strengthen me before I get to Cusco, Peru at 10,700 ft.

It is so beautiful in Atlanta.

Looks like from the Amazon.
s

Mushrooms.
s
s

Gassed up my car. Still pretty cheap. Last week it went from 2.29 to 2.49 in one day.
s

Enjoyed lunch with K. Took a short break then went to the mission to help the kids with their homework.

I helped around ten kids.
s
Some of them had major projects and it was SUPER hard to get them to do it. Sometimes it comes down to me threatening to go talk with their moms. They know I’ll do it, so they usually start working.
s
s

Rained a lot again this afternoon. I got home around 8pm so I haven’t checked my rain gauge.

My feet are a bit sore after the hike.

Admin duties now.

I loved these clouds.

Upload! DVD! Antiques! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:57 pm

I stopped working on admin duties early last night. I was tired.

Got up and uploaded all the material from yesterday and finished the blog and social media.
s
I think “Ear Factor” is a great episode of Verbal Surgery!

I’ve been steadily burning DVDs.
s

I ripped 47 before I ran out. I have more coming. Good ol’ Amazon!

s
I also hooked up my new printer (also from Amazon!)
s
s

Went into Chamblee a little early today. I was hoping to eat a late lunch with Jesse. He was busy with another assignment.

Checked out a couple of antique stores before the mission started. Always something interesting to see.
s
s

Worked with the kids.
s
s

Hardly any homework. Usually we have a lot of little kids now. Haven’t seen many. It will probably pick up. It always does.

Fought my way through about an hour and a half of traffic with heavy rain. Good for the trees! That’s what I keep telling myself.

Mushrooms!
s
s
s

Working on admin duties now.

Jesse came over. He’s eating supper with Kathy. I was still full.

I saw a turtle crossing the road. Checked him out, then put him in the grass.
s

Evidence of my painting activities.
s
I thought this was funny!
s

Ashley bought me a present. Super cool!

Podcast! Tour! Mission! J!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:04 pm

Monday morning I had fun!
s
I always enjoy recording a new podcast. One of the most difficult things in life to do is to really listen. Check out “Ear Factor!” Just click on the title and GROOVE!

I’ve also continued to burn DVDs for the promotional packets we are giving to prospective clients.
s
s
After recording, I went into Chamblee to meet with two ladies from Covington, Linda and Cathy.
d
They represent a church and a school in that area.

I took them to Plaza Fiesta for lunch.
s

Cathy’s husband, Andy, just got back from a mission trip to Ethiopia. I took her to a local Ethiopian store to get some njera.
d
I liked the sign her son had drawn.
s

Over to Asian Square to see where the Buddhists buy their idols.

I also took them to Enigmas to see the life size Santa Muerta. Creepy as ever.
s

And to Buford Highway Farmers Market to get a taste of the world.

Dropped them off at the church and went to Office Depot to pick up some poster boards for the kids. Also got some printer ink for my new printer.
s
The old one stopped feeding paper.

Talked to the manager of Azalea about getting our doors and keys redone. Stupid door will hardly open.
s

Then to the mission to work with them. Not much homework.
s
I liked Darlene’s nails.
s

Enjoyed supper with Jesse. Never too much J! We also talked about our upcoming safari to Nashville to meet up with our friend Anthony Jacquin. I’ll also be talking to churches in the area about working with us during Spring Break and the Summer.

Home for admin duties.

Toupee fail.

Westside! Zoo!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:24 pm

Kathy and I went to Westside Baptist Church this morning.
s

Pastor Ben preached on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
s

K and I enjoyed lunch at Always Fresh. Then headed down to the Atlanta Zoo. Little did we know that it was the FREE day for Fulton County residents. Ay caramba! It was wall to wall peeps.

The Zoo is always good!

Refilled the hummingbird feeders. I rinse them out thoroughly first.

Interesting lichen in my back yard.
s

Glad to be back home to work on admin duties. Still burning DVDs for the promo project.

Just a reminder.

Shopping! Painting!

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:06 pm

This morning I did the family shopping at Walmart.
s

I needed screws for the fan that I painted.
s

I liked the Yoda themed cereal box. I’ll add it to my Yoda collection.
s
I thought Yoda using the force on the candy parts was hilarious.

I bought four new succulents for my collection. Little beauties on the left.
s

Came home to finish painting and put the last fan together.
s
The Can Gun is indispensable.
s
Here’s the picture of Can Gun.

Here’s the LINK to Can Gun on Amazon. I’m a huge fan. One of my favorite tools.

Community development in a nutshell.
s

Yep.
s
This struck me as funny.
s
I don’t see how this kind of tire runs smooth.
s
I like these little pine cones.
s

This is an approach I use. “Available Materials.”

Podcast! Fans! Painting!

Tim A. Cummins @ 4:26 pm

Friday, I dropped off my milage check to our Treasurer’s house.
s

Did the shopping at Walmart.
s

Then went to my favorite spot to record a podcast.
s
I think it’s beautiful.
s
s

This is a really useful episode of Verbal Surgery called “Rusty Trust.”
s

I posted the link up to FaceBook.
s

I enjoyed eating lunch with Kathy, then I went to see Man from UNCLE–a movie I really liked!
s

I bought the soundtrack to this movie. I rarely do that. I especially liked the Tom Ze song.
s

Came home to work on cleaning the fans in my house. We have 10. I cleaned 9 of them on Friday. Missed one by accident.
s

It’s about a 20 minute process per each fan.

Take it apart.

Vacuum it out.
s
Pretty gross.
s

Clean the blades.

Clean the grills with pressure wash.
s

Reassemble.

Put them back in the house.

Spray painted one of the fans. Looked a bit rusty.
s

I also spray painted the desk and file cabinet which looked awful. Good ol’ white spray paint!
s
s

Rainbows in my house.

Podcast! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:52 pm

This morning I recorded a new podcast! Woot!
s

This is a new favorite which focuses on the ladies: “Sheroes!” GREAT episode for making relationships even better!
s
I’ve enjoyed practicing my crow calls at the house. Crows are the smartest birds and it’s been fun having them answering me. I’m actually a little hoarse because of my enthusiastic attempts!

Took some hardware to the church.
s

Had a great time with the kids at the mission.
s

We didn’t have many kids because it poured down rain.
s
s

I like Mehia’s art.
s

I cleaned the mission before I left.
s

The kids showed me their muscle pose.
s

I created a hologram display for the kids to check out using plastic and my iPhone. It was cool.

Enjoyed eating supper with Jesse.

Watched the Waltons and Key and Peele with K this evening.

Admin duties now.

I liked this sign.
d
Beautiful cloud.
s
Big sun.

Jhoan! Antiques! J! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:51 pm

This morning I took my friend Jhoan over to the Homeland Security office.
s

He’s applying for his green card and driver’s license. Everything is more complicated when you are not born in the country.

While I waited for him to get the application started, I went to get a sandwich. They had wifi and I was able to call my friend Anthony in England over FaceBook Messenger. It’s amazing that I can have a video chat with someone in the UK for free! Jesse and I are looking forward to meeting him in Tennessee. He’s coming to teach a class.

I picked up Jhoan, took him home to get his books, then to Chamblee High School.

I enjoyed looking around the antique stores for a while while I waited for Jesse to get ready.
s
s
I took him to lunch and we went over to Barnes and Noble to look at books for a while. I liked this map of Peru.
s

Then to the mission to work with the kids. Always fun. I’m teaching one of the kids how to memorize the answers to math facts.
s
s
s

End of Summer flip flop tan. I call them my “chevrons.”
s
Came home to watch some Andy Griffith with K.

Went for a 2.66 mile run this evening. It wasn’t too bad outside. Always something beautiful to see.
s
s
s
s
s
Ate supper with K.

Admin duties now.

I plan to go to Stone Mountain later this evening to see the Pleiades meteor shower. Hope the sky clears off some more.

I saw three nice meteors. Too cloudy for great viewing but the weather was perfect. The last meteor shower I saw, the Geminids, it was super cold.

Repairs! Tree! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:18 pm

Rained over 1/2″ yesterday!
s

I had my yard guy come over and haul the small tree that had fallen out of my front yard. So long little dogwood.

Put gas in my car. The cheapest gas I’ve seen in Atlanta is at my QT. Amen!
s

Cleaned my fish tank.
s

Recorded a new podcast! One of my favorite things!
s

You are of “Royal Blood!”Just click on the title and groove!
s
s

This morning I worked on repairing my bag and my hat. Both had developed splits and tears. Hot glue!

s

I take pieces of denim and hot glue them to the inside of my shoulder bag.
s

I just glue the tears together in my hat.
s

s

Enjoyed working with the kids at the mission!
s

s
s

Ate supper with Jesse.

Admin duties now. GREAT to be back in the swing of things.
