Jerry and Ashley! Kathy!

Tim A. Cummins @ 4:37 pm

I didn’t sleep well last night. I tweaked my back and kept waking up.

Met up with Ashley this morning. We had a meeting with our CPA to work on how the books should be kept for the ministry.
s

Got a lot accomplished. I feel good about the direction we’re moving.

We deposited checks at the bank.

Went to the mission to drop off some supplies. Left a note to tell the kids that we’ll be starting the after school program tomorrow.

Ate lunch with Kathy and Ashley. GREAT to have both my girls together.
s
Did some shopping at Walmart.

Came home to work on admin duties and rest.

I got a call from my friend Anthony Jacquin this afternoon. Always great to hang out with him.

Ashley liked my stand up Jesus. Anything I can do to help make Jesus real to people I think is a great idea.

Cleaning! Movie! Outreach!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:21 pm

We’ve had some good rain this weekend!
s

Saturday, I worked on the household duties. Vacuumed the downstairs.
s

Wrote checks.
s
Went to Lowes to pick up some screws to fix a door knob. Figured I’d better repair it or else Jesse can’t get out.
s
s
s

Enjoyed Jamaican food with K. I love maps. Where would you like to go?
s

Then went to see the new Mission Impossible movie “Rogue Nation.” I liked it a lot. I can’t get over Tom Cruise doing those stunts!
s

Had a restful evening. K and I watched “Back to the Future.” Small things have big results!

Went to sleep early.

Sunday morning I got up and went to Greater Love Outreach Mission.
s

The kids helped me organize the supplies we were given.
s
s

I spoke on how to do missions at apartment complexes.

Pastor Ed Jumper preached about the Fiery Furnace, one of my favorite stories.
s

Then I took the church over to Norcross to work at Bradford Gwinnett apartments. We had great success over there this Summer.
s

I took over the school supplies that Perimeter Church had given me. We also cooked hot dogs with chips, cookies and a drink.
s

Great day with some solid relationships being built.
d

Came home to rest and read.

My hummingbird feeders were almost dry, so I got some sugar and mixed up some new juice for them. I saw two this week. I miss the days from years ago when I would regularly see ten or twelve! I always think that perhaps they ran into some bad weather on their migration to Mexico over the gulf.

Admin duties now.

My friend Steve Adams sent me some money from Zimbabwe. I’m RICH!

Podcast! Bank! Shopping!

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:24 pm

This morning I recorded a new podcast!
s

Love doing that! How would you act if you knew exactly when you would die? Would it change your behavior? Check out “The Last Show” and amplify your life, NOW! Just click on the title and GROOVE!

Once I have uploaded the recording to my server and the link on FaceBook, I consider the project complete.
s

Went to the bank to deposit checks.
s

Always a good thing!

Then to Walmart to do the family shopping.
s

My back feels a bit strained today. Guess it was from hauling the school supplies around.

Jesse just said he’s coming over to visit later today. Excellent!
s

I also have a new yard man coming to blow my roof and gutters out later today.
s

s

John Hughes did a great job!
Admin duties now.

I love the patterns.

s
s
s
s

The dogwood tree I have in my front yard keeled over today. Sad.
s

This morning I went to FBC Doraville to pick up checks.
s

Then to Perimeter church to pick up some extra school supplies.
s

Met up with Pastor Ed Jumper. He’s starting a church in the Duluth area.
s

We went to Bradford Gwinnett apartments.
s
This Sunday we’ll have an outreach event there. The manager there is Victor Hercules. What a great name!
s

We’ll roast some hot dogs as well as hand out school supplies.

I took him to the Dollar Tree to show him what to get. It’s easy, once you know how!

s

Came home to rest and work on admin duties.

Scanned all the checks into my computer.

I’ll deposit them tomorrow morning.

Podcast! Discussions!

Tim A. Cummins @ 4:56 pm

This morning I recorded a new podcast! One of my favorite things!
s

Here’s my mobile studio location.
s

This is a new favorite. How do you conquer fear? By using your body and jumping on a “Roller Coaster!” Just click on the title and GROOVE!

After recording, I went over to the UPS to take my old set top box for my cable TV.
s

Spent time looking for hand sanitizer that doesn’t smell gross.
s
When I’m working outside with the teams, my hat band gets saturated with sweat. Every day I apply that sanitizer to the band to keep bacteria from growing there. IE it doesn’t stink.

Came home to talk with one of my partners about the mission and the finances to support it. I think Hakeem understood what was going on with his mother and will be able to help her now.

Had a late lunch with K.

Spent some time reading and working on admin duties. Getting ready for the block party this weekend.

Six Flags!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:31 pm

K and I had a fun day at Six Flags! I thought this would be a good time with not too many people. I was right! I also got a Flash Pass, even better!

We had a fun time. I rode one the World’s largest, “Goliath” and one of the fastest “Dare Devil Dive Bomber.”
Straight up and slightly inside straight down.
s
s
Cool builds.
s

We liked the Bumper Cars. 285 prepared us well for that!
s
s

Our favorite ride was the Mist Machine.
s

Another of our favorite rides.
s

Good times.

I loved all the beautiful plants.
s

My car said it was hot. Didn’t feel nearly this hot to me.
s

I got home and installed the new set top box for my cable TV.

Kathy and I just got back from our TK weekend. GREAT to spend time with her.

We stayed in Clayton.
s
Ventured out from there to Dillard, Black Rock Mountain and Tallullah Falls.

Fantastic beauty. We had forgotten just how awesome being up in the mountains is.

s
s
s
s
s
s
s

Does the carving go in or jut out?
s

Hiked across the divide. Cusco, Peru is 10,700 ft!
s
s
s
We got home early afternoon so Kathy could go to work.

Spent time with Jesse. We had lunch than went to pick up Tshirts from Pure Fun.
s

Enjoyed time at the Barnes and Noble before heading back to the house.

Watched Wild with K. Just an ok movie.

Admin duties now.

Beauty!
s
I can’t figure out what is causing the tree’s bark to split like this.
s
s
I thought this was interesting. “Twister” or “Wind” clan.
s
Hmmm.

Calls! Podcast! Quarry!

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:05 pm

This morning I spent time working the phones.

Long talk with Eduardo Zamora who is heading to Orlando with his family. There are chairs and tables left at the mission that may need to be moved. I’ll set up a time to go by there next week.

Also long conversation with Marjorie Otiti as regards her ongoing ministry at the Terraces. Lots of details to hammer out as far as funding and her budget goes. I think we have everything squared away.

Sent in her form this morning to NAMB. She gave me some missing information I needed.

Also left a message/email to Jeff Reams at Dunwoody Baptist Church about this transition.

Recorded a new podcast! Do you have things that irritate you? Then try looking at them with “Heart Eyes!” Just click on the title and GROOVE!

Dropped off the financial report to our treasurer’s house. Great job, ASHLEY!
s

I have a pastor I’m working with who is trying to start new work in the Duluth area. I need to find out exactly where their targeted area is so I can go to talk to managers next week.

I went to Stone Mountain for a while. I wanted to hike on the rock, but the blasts of heat coming off the stone turned me around.
s
s
Color change to come.
s
I like lichens.
s

Can you see the Pileated Woodpecker?
s

Went to T&G to pay for the oil change in my car and in Kathy’s car. We are both due brakes in the next few thousand miles.

Enjoying reading and resting.

Admin duties now.

One of the little cacti I bought is getting ready to bloom. Always exciting.
s

I also bought a hygrometer! Checks level of moisture in the soil. Really important not to over water succulents. It’s hard to tell when every plant is a different size and in different sized container.

I got this cut out Jesus for our production with the kids coming to work with us.

I think He’s pretty cool.

Got up around 6:30am this morning. Picked up Ashley to take her to the airport. I was glad that K came with us.
s

Ashley is in Texas now visiting with supporters and of course our family. The last part of her trip she’s flying to Kansas to see one of her good friends.

Enjoyed visiting with Jesse Thursday night.

Beauty!

Super hot today. We went to Walmart to get water for the kids. Dekalb County had a broken water main, so the water wasn’t safe to drink. Yow!

Worked with the kids at the mission. Handed out the back packs. Worked out pretty well!
s
