Rest! Rain! Shopping!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:31 pm

It’s nice to have a rainy day.
s
I’m getting some good rest!

Did the shopping at Walmart. They’re renovating and changing the flooring.
s

Went by Goodwill to check on tshirts. I found a few that were cool. I’m giving them as gifts. Nothing for me today.

I got my new tape deck from Amazon today. It’s a really nice one! My friend and I have been making cassette tapes to each other for 35 years. Yow! It’s hard to find these tape decks now.
s
I read on line that cassettes are making a comeback. Maybe it’ll be easier to find them then!

Cleaned out my fish tank.
s
It’s still stirred up in this picture. Looks perfect now.

Enjoyed playing some video games. Haven’t done that in weeks.

Lunch with K. Always good.

We’re watching Tracks now. It’s a show about a lady crossing the Australian desert by herself.

Grant! BABY! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:10 pm

This morning I worked on the grant application for First Baptist Church of Atlanta.
s

Also worked on my new book, “Power Prayer.”

Ate lunch with Ashley and Jesse! Ashley had her first picture of her BABY! WOOT!
sShe’s eight weeks along. Due in late November.
s
Came home and enjoyed time talking with Jesse.

Then off to the mission to work with the kids.
s
s

Jesse showed them his new Amazon “Echo.” It’s a computer that answers you. The kids were enthralled.
s

J and I ate supper. Always enjoy time with him.

Rainy weather. Played with bubbles when I got home.
s

Came home to watch the end of “Gods and Kings.” It’s the movie about Moses and the Exodus with Kathy.

While I was at Tybee Island with Kathy, I started a new memory verse project, Psalms 77:10-20.

“Then I thought, I will appeal to the years of the right hand of the most High. I will remember the deeds of the Lord. Yes, I will remember your miracles of old. I will meditate on all your deeds, and consider all your mighty works. Your ways, O God are holy. What God is so great as our God? You are the God who performs miracles. You display your power among the peoples. Your mighty arm redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. The ocean saw you oh, God. The ocean saw you and writhed. The very depths were convulsed. The clouds poured down water. The skies resounded with your thunder. Your arrows flashed back and forth. Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind. Your lightning lit up the world. The Earth trembled and shook. Your path led through the sea. Your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen. You led your people like a flock, by the hand of Moses and Aaron.”

Beautiful and powerful!

We serve a miracle working God! Amen!

Podcast! Book! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:42 pm

Fun morning! Worked on a new podcast! Woot!
s

I really like this episode called “Amplifier!” How happy are you? Ready to amp up that happiness level? Then click on the title and groove!
s
I’ve been recording in Lil’ Red aka my “mobile studio.” Came home to work on my new book, “Power Prayer.” Making good progress. I’m down to the last couple of sections.

Enjoyed eating lunch with Kathy.

After lunch, worked on my book for another hour.

Then down to Doraville to meet up with Ashley. We went by the recreation center to talk to Mr. Robertson. He wasn’t there, but we did get to meet his assistant, Cynthia. I wanted to let her see the shower arrangement.
s

To the mission to work with the kids!
s
s
s
I spent my first thirty minutes dealing with Comcast. We had a mix up with the bill that I had to take care of. All squared away now!

Cleaned up the mission before leaving. Jesse was having a few friends over. I wanted the place to look presentable to grown ups.

Came home to spend time with Kathy.

Admin duties now.

I liked these little mushrooms.

s

Stopped into my new QT to see the progress. Getting close!

12 Stone! Book! Doraville Rec! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:41 pm

This morning I spent working on a grant proposal for one of our biggest sponsoring churches: 12 Stone in Lawrenceville. A great church! Pray that they will continue to support us financially!
s

Worked on my new book. Twenty years ago I was working on a book about prayer called Power Prayer. I’ve decided to use that original title with the subtitle being “The RIGHT way to Pray.” Right, meaning using the right hemisphere of our brains. It will be a short book, but I think very helpful, especially the audio section of the book where I will lead the prayer times.
s

Ate lunch with Ashley and Kathy. Awesome time!
s

Ashley let me know that one of our teams was having problems getting housing, so we put a new plan into motion, using space at FBC Doraville. We talked to the Pastor about it today. Hopefully, they’ll ok the idea. The main problem with using those facilities is that there are no showers.

I talked to the Director of Recreation for Doraville, Rip Robertson. He let me know that the showers at their facilities were open for our use. AMEN!
s

Then to the mission to work with the kids!
s
s

Mehiya measured the room with her footsteps.
s
Ate supper with Jesse at a new Guatemalan restaurant. Great food! I liked the Indian in the front.
s
It’s called the Quetzal Restarante. It’s named after the Quetzal, one of the most beautiful and rarest birds in the world. I saw one in Costa Rica five years ago today!
s

Watched the end of Foxcatcher with Kathy.

Admin duties now.

Yard! Podcast! Mower! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:32 pm

This morning I did some yard work. Refilled my hummingbird feeders. I’ve seen one male so far.
s

Ivy is taking over some of my trees.
d
I snipped and sawed the big roots and vines.
s

New podcast!
s
I haven’t recorded in a while. Been too busy and my voice too rough.
s
I’ve been using an amplifier with the teams. That has helped me a lot!

I really like this episode of Verbal Surgery. Check out “DRIVE!” Accelerate your happiness! Just click on the title and groove!

Did some shopping at Walmart. I thought the flowers were beautiful.
s
s
s

Came home and put together my new lawn mower. It’s the biggest purchase I’ve ever made on Amazon.
s
s
s
Got her oiled up and gassed up and she started on the first pull. Yeah, baby!

Then over to the mission to work with the kids. GREAT to be with them and Ashley and Jesse!
s
s
s

Had supper with Jesse.

Came home to watch the first part of Foxcatcher with K.

CIBC! Gainesville!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:41 pm

Kathy and I met up with Miles and Ashley at Clarkston International Bible Church.
s
s

Pastor Phil wasn’t preaching. Our loss.
s

Got together for lunch with Jesse and the rest of the family.
s

Kathy rode her bike back from Clarkston. I went home, changed out of my suit pants and put on work clothes. Then rode to Gainesville to help Chestnut Mountain Baptist Church do their first local outreach. Went great!
s
s
s
s

Candy throw is always popular!
s

Stopped briefly at the Barnes and Noble at the Mall of Georgia on the way home. I have this picture from Gray’s Anatomy on a Tshirt.
s

Got home around 8pm. Kathy is resting. She’s pooped after that long bike ride!

Admin duties now.

I liked these wavy stratus clouds.

Run! Writing!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:08 pm

Over an 1 1/2″ of rain yesterday.
s

K and I enjoyed supper with Jesse last night after getting back from Tybee Island. Always great to see him!

We went to sleep early. I’d gotten up before sunrise and had driven through terrible traffic and torrential rain.

Got up early and started uploading all the 533 picture I’d shot last week. Some of the pictures are new favorites!

Caught up on the blog and social media. Edited a short video on the bubbles I created at the beach.

Then went for a 4.95 mile run. Absolutely gorgeous weather. I call it “Nakuru” weather. It’s like what I had every day of the year in Kenya. Cool, crisp, pure air. The rain really helped the pollen!

Did some shopping at Walmart.

Ate a sandwich and came home to work on my book. Made good progress. I’m in the section where I talk about effective prayer. It must be EXACT, you must EXPECT and you have to ACCEPT that the Father knows more than we know.

Took K out for supper at Piccadilly.

Then home to watch the Imitation Game. Very good movie.

Admin duties now then another early night.

Looks like we have some road work on the way.

My new QT station is getting close! Landscaping is in now.

TK! Rest! Coast!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:45 pm

Kathy and I finally got away from town to rest. I sure needed it! We left for Savannah on Sunday morning and just got back this evening.
e

We rode along the old Tybee RR trail.
s
s
s

I especially enjoyed blowing BIG bubbles on the beach. I blew one long tubular bubble 43 foot. Yow!
s
s
Friday morning I got up before sunrise to greet the sun and get one final chance to blow bubbles, especially when there weren’t a lot of kids running around popping them.
d
s
s
s

The flowers were beautiful, especially at Bonaventure Cemetery.
s
s
s

It was beautiful, but the sand gnats were ferocious.
s

I always check on my grave. I had an interesting talk with one of the staff at Bonaventure. He said that this grave, “Was a mystery.” Yes it is. I find it interesting how many people leave objects on the grave stone, which has no markings at all.
s
s

I rode into Savannah. One of the most beautiful cities in the world! I enjoyed visiting the “Jingle Bell” church. This is where I was ordained! It used to be the Savannah Baptist Center. The Unitarians bought it from us.
s
s
s

My favorite cathedral in the world is St. John the Baptist in Savannah. No trip is complete without visiting it and admiring the stained glass. Fabulous.
s
s
s
s
s
s
s
I always light candles for my children.
s

River street is always fun.
s

I love the Historic District. Gorgeous.

s
s
s
s
s

I went into the Customs House this trip. They had tigers on display.
s
The skins had been confiscated.

I ate at Clary’s. One of my favorites for breakfast!
s
It’s in the movie, “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.”
s

K and I had fun riding our bikes all over the island.
s
s
s
Sure beat having to find a place to park the car. Beautiful!

s
s
s
s
We averaged over 6 miles a day. One day I rode over 15 miles. Ouch.
s

On our way home, we drove around Pooler, GA. Our house was gone, but our neighbor’s was still standing.
s
They put a new house on our lot.
s

GREAT to spend time with Kathy!
s

We came back to the ATL in powerful thunderstorms and rain. It reminded me of my new scripture memory project. I’m working on Psalms 77:10-20. “The clouds poured down water. The skies resounded with thunder. Your arrows flashed back and forth.”

Great to be back home. Looking forward to and Outreach Event in Gainesville on Sunday afternoon.

Is the footprint up or down?
