Mothers Day! Westside! Kendalls! ZZTOP!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:22 am

Stayed up Saturday night to finish editing the video I shot for our team from Oakwood Christian Academy.
s

Sunday morning Kathy and I went to Westside Baptist Church.
s
s

We celebrated with roses to every mom.
s

Speaking of flowers, two of my little cacti are blooming. Groovy.
s
s

And two of my orchids are putting out blooms again. Awesome!
s
And my African Violets = beauty!
s

Talked to MY mom! She’s doing great!

We had a family celebration at Jim and Cheryl Kendall’s house along with their daughter Roxy, Miles and Ashley, Kathy and Jesse.
s
s
s
Fun!

Rested briefly at home then went to Alpharetta to see ZZ Top and Jeff Beck! Two of my favorites!

Jeff Beck is one of the best guitarists in the world.
s

ZZ Top was great!
s
s

They played together at the end. Amazing!
s
s

Got home around midnight. Fun day!

I like shadow pictures with geometry.
s

Beautiful sky!
s

Monday, Jesse and I are leaving for the UK to go to a conference with some friends of mine! We will be back on the 19th! Pray for safety in travels!

s
s

Went to the missions at North Peachtree and Azalea Place.
s
s
s
s
Once we got the team onto their first site, I went to check out the Gem and Mineral show in Norcross. Always something beautiful to see.
s
s

s

I didn’t buy anything except small meteorites from Argentina.

Watched Super Nanny with Kathy.

Also some other movie that was so lame I don’t even remember the title.

Just edited the video that I shot.

Admin duties now.

Oakwood!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:25 pm

Ashley and I enjoyed briefing our team from Chicamagua, GA!
s

s
They are from Oakwood Christian Academy.

We took them on Safari to Global Mall, Al Madina and the BAPS Hindu Temple.
s
s
s
s
s
Then over to the missions to work with the kids!
s
s
s

They are practicing their violins.
d

Ash and I also visited our dear friend Mehiya. She had a terrible allergic reaction to poison ivy. Her dad was in a bad car wreck last week. He suffered chest trauma. I prayed with both of them.

Home now with K.

Admin duties now.

I loved these flowers at the Hindu temple.

Podcast! Yard! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:40 pm

New Verbal Surgery! Yeah, baby! I like this episode called, “iMotion!” How do you get yourself into action? Click on the title and find out!

I spent hours working in my yard today.

Picked up a ton of sticks.
s

Mowed my front and back yard. That’s 1/2 acre!
s
s
I tracked the mowing on RunKeeper. I pushed that mower 1.58 miles.
s
s
s
I found my lost camera! It had been outside about a year under leaves. I mowed over it.
s

The battery still works! SD card and camera, not so much. I still have it in my camera graveyard where I keep all the cameras that I’ve worn out.

Blew the driveway and street clean of debris.
s

Then added fertilizer to my new magnolia and gardenia plants.
s

Ate a quick lunch on the way to the mission.

Then worked with the kids. Hardly any homework. School is basically out.
s
s

On the way home I saw this.

Three other NoZe Brothers and I drove to Waco from Dallas in one of these. Good times.
s

Enjoyed watching SuperNanny with K.

We also started watching Lone Survivor.

Admin duties now.

We have a team in town tomorrow morning and Saturday.

Run! Production! Grant!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:37 pm

I ran 6.18 miles this morning.
s

Gorgeous weather. Always something beautiful to see.
s
s
s

s
s
s
s
s
s

Lots of signs for graduation.
s

I ran farther than I normally do because I wanted to take a close up look at the land the developers want to build houses on.

Ashley met up with K for lunch. Missed that, I was still running.

Came home, showered, cooled off.

Ate a sandwich.

Produced the USB drives for the Verbal Surgery project.
s
s

Decided not to go to the mission today. Tired.

Filled in the grant proposal for Dunwoody Baptist Church.

Watched Castle with K.

Admin duties now.

I think this was cool seeing that Mother’s Day is Sunday.
s

I liked this section of Wired.

Gifts! David! Ashley! Commission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:16 pm

This morning I worked on gifts for the families that I’m going to visit next week. Picked up wrapping paper and stickers.
s

Did some shopping at Walmart. I liked these flowers.
s

Then met up with Ashley at FBC Doraville. I brought her a tiny baby, just a little older than HER baby. This is 14 weeks. Ashley is 11 now.
s
s

We rode up to Marietta to see our partner David Tate. They moved to our area about nine months ago.
s

They’ve had a hard time here. The renters of their house back in S. Carolina left, so now they’re paying two house payments. Looks like they’ll be moving back to Spartanburg, SC. Sad to see that.

After our meeting with David, Ash and I did a quick recon of the square in Marietta. There are a couple of stores there I find really interesting. Ashley got some great ice cream.

We went back to the church to pick up Ashley’s car.

I went to the Gwinnett County Planning Commission meeting this evening. I was the representative from our subdivision against the rezoning of land near our neighborhood.
s
s

I hope that this development will not become a reality. It’s nearly 120 houses!
s

I spoke with the lawyer of the developers and other neighborhood leaders against the rezoning. Here’s our representative.
s

Came home to work on wrapping gifts for the Jacquins.
s
Listened to TV.

Here’s the finished Best of Verbal Surgery 2015 project.
s

The USB key has 20 of my favorite episodes of Verbal Surgery, 10 videos from Story Tim and a 450 page book of wit from my Twitter feed: @timacummins.

This sounded weird to me.
s

Can you imagine putting up a dish like THIS in the back yard?
s

There was an actual piece of the Berlin Wall on display at the Commission building. I couldn’t believe the urge I had to get a small piece of it.
s
I did not give into that urge, however.

Ultron! FBA! Liberty!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:22 pm

I had a fun weekend.

Worked in the garden on Saturday. Cleaned the porch.
s
Cleaned and refilled hummingbird feeders.
s

The knob broke on our washing machine. Went to Lowes to try and find another one.
s

Washer did the water too high. Mess to clean up. Sure am glad I have a Wet/Dry vacuum.
s

Had lunch with Jesse and Kathy.
s
s
Then went to see Age of Ultron. I thought it was pretty good.
s
The 3D was cool.
s

Sunday I represented Whirlwind Missions at the First Baptist Atlanta local missions fair.
s
s
s

Always good to see friends.
s

It’s a big place.
s

Had a restful afternoon. Then worked on the Verbal Surgery project in preparation for the conference I’m going to next weekend in the UK.
s

It contains 20 of my favorite episodes of Verbal Surgery, 10 videos of Story Tim and a 450 page book containing my wit and wisdom from my Twitter feed. Fun!
s

I’m still adding things to finished product.

Monday morning I met up with Ashley at First Baptist Church Doraville.

We had a pre-site visit with our new friends from Liberty Baptist Church in Virginia.

We took them on a Whirlwind Tour to the Buford Highway Farmers Market and Plaza Fiesta.
s

They’ll be bringing a team of 115 choir members to our are in June. They’ll serve for one day. It’ll be a good one!

A and I went to Messinas for Greek food. We were hungry for Indian, we forgot they were closed on Monday. Bummer.

We loved the cheesecake.
s

Dropped by Goodwill. Ash found a few cute things.

Then to the appliance store where I asked if they had a knob to replace the one I got from them. They had one! I couldn’t believe I couldn’t find a simple replacement knob on Amazon!

Went to the bank to deposit money. Then to the Post Office to put a gift in the mail.

Went back to Plaza Fiesta to check on supplies. I found another lucky dirty money sheep for Ashley! Mooglie ate the last one. Sad.
s

Checked on the kids at the mission. Hardly any homework.
s
s

We cleaned up.
s
s

Went to Walmart to do grocery shopping. Met up with Jesse there.
s

The replacement knob I got for the washing machine worked great.
s

I liked these babies on display.
s

I found this turkey nibbling on the head of a mannequin disturbing.

Crash! JK!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:56 pm

Had a restful morning.

Then went for a 4.98 mile run. Gorgeous!
s
s
s
s
s
s
s
s

There was a lady with her dogs in the road. I was concentrating on how I was going to run around this hazard, when I caught my toe on a bump in the road. Took a tumble. I rolled with it. Still took some road rash.
s

It’s a tradition in Georgia to put signs up in the neighborhoods for the graduates.
s

Dropped off the Financial Report to our treasurer.
s

Ate a late lunch. Wasn’t hungry after running.

Kathy worked all day today at the day care.

Jesse just came over. We enjoyed going to El Torero with him.
s

Admin duties now.

Sore from my fight with the road.

Beauty.
