Valentines! Kendalls! Calls! 2.14.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:42 pm

Miles and Ashley went to a memorial for his friend Kevin last night while we watched the girls. They came to get them around 10:00am this morning.

Downloaded the recording I made yesterday onto my Mac.

Went to Stone Mountain to do some recording and make calls. The stand connected to my steering wheel holds my phone with the video camera. I have the phone in the center position when I’m recording Verbal Surgery and it’s set as a stop watch to let me know how long I’ve been recording.

I have the envelope in the window to control how much light comes in through the side window.

Had a great chat with my buddy Anthony.

Also talked with my Mom. Always a blessing.

As I was leaving Stone Mountain, I’ve noticed this tree that has a spiral burned into its’ bark. When I’ve seen that before it was because of a lightning strike.

Studied Spanish.

Watched the end of season 3 of Dusk til Dawn. It was an interesting show. It’s from a Tarentino screenplay so it had a lot of violence.

Podcast! Grandgirls! Sleepover! 2.13.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:30 pm

Studied Spanish!

Brain Training.

OYB!

Went to Stone Mountain to make calls. Cold weather.

I saw a deer near the gate.

I had a good time with my buddy Anthony.

I liked this poem that he sent me by David Whyte.

I’ve had this trap set for at least six months. This morning I saw it had caught a big rat. Gross. Glad it’s dead. I cleaned and set this and another trap with fresh bait.

Miles brought the girls over around 2pm. I kept them overnight while he and Ashley went to a memorial service for his friend Kevin.

We enjoyed ice cream.

Rained about .5″.

Caught and released squirrel #153.

The girls and I went to the Dollar Tree to buy some Valentines stuff with the money that my Mom sent them. They had a lot of fun with all the stuff they got. This was the first puzzle that Penelope had ever put together.

After dinner and a bath, we watched a movie, I told a couple of stories and we went to sleep.

Grandgirls! Goodwill! Podcast! 2.12.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:46 pm

I liked this from Seth Godin’s blog this morning. He is the premier marketing guru in America. We have corresponded many times.

I got to Global Mall at my regular time around 8:00 AM. At about 8:15 AM, Ashley texted me saying that the girls had had her phone so her alarm didn’t wake her up. To speed things up, I came on into Chamblee to pick up the girls at her house. I shot Ashley screen grabs as I got closer.

Glad I was able to help.

After I picked them up, I took them by the new Doraville United Elementary School that is near the church. We watched them build it over the last year. Then went to Huntley Hills which is where Penelope will start school in August.

OYB!

From Exodus 32/33.

From Matthew 33.

We went by my office to check the mail.

Ordered glue and some lights to help me see my driveway better at night.

Studied Spanish.

Didn’t know this Latin phrase.

Penelope having fun on the potty with her red dress.

Just kept getting colder and colder.

We went to Goodwill to look for jackets, red pants and toys. We hit the jackpot with Anna and Elsa dolls, which are Everly’s favorite.

We got a fun skateboard for Penelope, a scooter for Everly and a couple more toys for the dolls.

We got Valentine cards from Nana! They loved them.

Rained about .5″ yesterday.

Kathy ran into one of the posts that supports the garage. I got a heavy hammer to beat it back into place. I used another board to protect the beam. Got a level to make sure it was plumb.

Finally, got it close enough.

Miles came to pick them up around 4:00 PM.

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery -828- “Don’t Fix Me.”

Grandgirls! Hats and Gloves! Azalea! 2.11.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:07 pm

Foggiest morning we’ve had in a while and it lasted pretty much all day!

Love my girls!

My friend Selma Blackmon was so kind to buy gloves and hats for the kids! They need them!

The girls have enjoyed playing with their new dolls. They had a doll hotel today.

Studied Spanish.

OYB!

Cleaned and refilled my birdbaths and feeders. The hose nozzle broke today. Got another one with my grocery pick up this evening.

From time to time I have to stretch out my hose and take the twist out of it. It’s really big and super heavy duty. It has a lifetime warranty, IF you can keep up with the receipt!

Everly helped me with the chores. K and Penelope watched us for a while. Penelope came to help soon after. I never try to lure them away from their grandmother. They spend almost all their time with me.

Ordered my groceries. Unusual to be able to pick it up the same day. Usually, I pick it up the following day.

Did some research on the Missionary Care Center at FBC Atlanta. We will probably go over there next week.

Helped the kids with their homework.

I pretty much learn something new every day. I had just the broadest of ideas about the constitution, how it was written and how our nation was formed. The fourth grade version is pretty concise and straight forward.

I let the girls look through the hats and gloves. They were thrilled.

I fed the girls supper at their house after I finished the homework. Miles was conked out. Didn’t have the heart to wake him up.

Went by my office to check the mail.

Picked up the groceries.

Came home and got a squirrel I’d caught. Dropped it off and returned home to put up the groceries.

Ordered new CPAP straps for K.

I’ve further modified this little memory foam cushion that came from a mouse pad.

I just ordered some serious glue to make it permanent. I’ve been using double sided tape and it’s just not doing the job. Plus, when it was bigger my elbow would hit it and make it tilt forward or back which would mess up the tape. Gorilla glue will do the trick. I hope.

Replaced a night light bulb.

Seems like there’s always some little thing that needs glue, or tightening down, or something just to keep it workin better.

Grandgirls! Doggie Park! Ann! Azalea! 2.10.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:21 pm

I thought this was kind of funny.

There were areas on my trip where there was thick fog. I always find it interesting.

This is currently one of the girl’s favorite songs.

Love these little sweethearts. Everly was already in her seat.

OYB!

Deposited checks. Had to go to two ATM to get them all in the system.

Went to the Doggie Park to play. Perfect weather.

While we were there, I got a text from Kathy that said that her sister Ann had lost one of her dogs. The girls weren’t thrilled about leaving the park, but they came with a pretty good attitude. By the time we got there, both dogs were home. Glad to see that.

The girls talk about getting a pet regularly. I’m always negative about it. They can’t have a pet where they live. Ann’s dogs are just the right size for the girls to have fun and not be knocked over.

Ann isn’t doing well physically. When I got to her house, she was on the floor and couldn’t get up. There was no way I could lift her up. So I started rearranging furniture so that she could make up up to her couch. It looks super weird, but at least now she’s not trapped on the floor until help comes. She had just called the fire department to help her get up and then sadly, she fell again.

Since the girls were playing and having fun, I went ahead and cleaned her living room and kitchen. The dogs had pooped and pissed and the place really smelled pretty bad. Swept and mopped. Sanitized as best I could.

I also got her computer working. I found the charger.

She banged the front of her car and loosened the bumper. I managed to get it back into place. Needs a real mechanic to take a look at it, but at least it’s drivable.

Tax season.

Incredibly beautiful day!

I will take the girls soon to First Baptist Atlanta to see about clothes. I always like to have more clothes for them to choose from. They are really growing super fast.

Helped the kids with their homework.

Ann gave the girls some dolls.

I always love the light streaming from the clouds.

Studied Spanish.

I heart sunsets.

Gassed up my car. $2.29 this evening. Checked oil. Cleaned windshield inside and out.

Grandgirls! Tubby! Azalea! 2.9.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:31 pm

Warmer today! Amen.

Start of my girl’s week.

OYB!

Rained nearly 1″.

Studied Spanish.

The girls and I did some chores around the house. We cleaned the glass doors and mirrors.

TV screen looks better.

Then we peeled a dozen eggs.

I cut them up and mixed mayo and relish with them.

Vacuumed the house.

Made a batch of samosas. They were in the form of egg rolls.

One of the supporters of our ministry enjoys sending little gifts to the girls. It really makes their day.

Sewed a hole in Penelope’s pants.

Penelope found one of her very early toys. She used to love bouncing around on this little unicorn that she named Tubby. She was so sad that we couldn’t get it working. The place where you put air in was messed up. So I punched a small hole in another location and filled it up with air. It only stayed fun for maybe five minutes and had to be pumped up again. But it was worth it because it helped make her happy.

Here she’s trying to figure out if we can put a needle in the place to fill it up. We couldn’t.

They held it while it filled up with air.

Helped the kids at the mission with their homework.

We had a big group today.

Went by my office to pick up the checks. I processed them so they’re ready for depositing tomorrow morning. I don’t like depositing a lot of checks in the dark.

Sunset!

Calls! Bob! Michelange! 2.8.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:02 pm

I regularly use AirDrop between my iPhone and my Mac Air.

Don’t see this often.

Studied Spanish.

Brain Training.

Beautiful day! I enjoyed a big part of it at Stone Mountain.

OYB.

My car is just coming due for an oil change. Called my mechanics to see how busy they are. Hopefully, I can swing it over there next week when it’s rainy and we aren’t driving around.

I made a great outreach yesterday to over fifteen people. Today, I went deeper with two of them, my good friends Bob Burns in Scotland and Michelange in Paris. We had some fascinating talks about spirituality and healing in particular.

This sticker reminds me of my buddy, Anthony in England.

Been watching “From Dusk til Dawn.” It’s in the Tarentino/Rodgriguez vein, so it’s very violent, but I like the style of the show.

Spanish! Calls! 2.7.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:37 pm

I studied Spanish.

Did my brain training.

Went to Stone Mountain. Called my buddy Anthony.

Then made a series of short videos to friends of mine all over the world. Kind of an outreach day so to speak.

This looks promising for Ashley and Miles’ family.

Turned out to be a nice day.

OYB

The TV cable is having issues. I need to get Comcast over here to check it out. The problem is most of the time it’s ok. That’s bad when they come over and can’t find a problem.

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:50 pm

Studied Spanish.

Brain training.

One Year Bible.

Cold and rainy.

Talked with Anthony.

Chatted with Mom.

Recorded an episode of Verbal Surgery. Downloaded it to my Mac’s hard drive.

Tried to watch the recording of a Zoom call but the link didn’t work.

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery -827- “Explosion and Erosion.” So tasty.

Grandgirls! Stone Mountain Camp! 2.5.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:57 pm

Milder temperatures.

Wreck on the way to pick up the girls.

OYB

On my way to Niger, W. Africa fourteen years ago today.

Love my girls!

Spent some time near the bird feeders today.

Teaching them the basic feeder birds we see: Carolina wren, Tufted Titmouse, S. Carolina Chicadee, House Sparrow, Red Bellied Woodpecker, and Downy Woodpecker. There are another five species or more that I see regularly including Crows, Sharp Shinned Hawks, Cardinals, Blue Jay, Towhee, Brown Thrasher, and Mourning Doves. Seasonally, I also see Red Throated Hummingbirds and Goldfinch.

We went up to our “Camp Site” on Stone Mountain today. It was beautiful.

We had fun with stacking rocks.

I’m always impressed by the beauty of nature there. Many interesting water patterns.

I love shooting with reflected light. The overcast sky is perfect for it.

We made it to our camp site.

I like lichen. Moss is a must.

The sky cleared off for about an hour or so.

I like for them to develop a sense of balance. We often walk on logs.

The clouds were so beautiful. I was struck by the similarity of the streaking in the clouds and on the rocks.

Everly fell asleep in the back seat.

Penelope and I watched Aladdin together. Jesse got Everly out of the car and brought her down to us for the last twenty minutes or so. Then I took them to the other grandparents.

Paid bills.
