PE! Fernbank Museum & Science Center! Solar Eclipse! 4.8.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:54 pm

OYB!

Beautiful day.

Just keep doing my best.

EspaƱol!

Deposited checks. Thank you, Father.

Eclipse day is finally here! I had Penelope and Everly the whole day. We had a lot of fun.

I took them to Waffle House. Penelope drew me some “pop up” art using napkins. I especially liked her sound effects for the tail: “wigle, wigle.”

Next stop was the Fernbank Science Center. It’s the museum that has the big telescopes. While I was there, I saw a guy shooting video. I took the girls over with me to him and explained what I did. I told him I worked with CBS in Savannah. He replied, “WTOC?” I said, “Yes.” He said, “I know you man. I’m Anthony Coppins I used to work with you!” Another of my buddies also works with him here in the ATL. Crazy! I gave him a prayer card and one for my other buddy. He shot some video of us walking to the sign because I asked him too. Just like the old days when I was the Chief Photographer.

I got a text while we were there from one of the team from last week. They want to send money to help us. I sent him the information for the North American Mission Board.

Also talked to John Weldon, my pastor from Westside BC. He’s bringing a team with him on Saturday.

I took the girls to the main Fernbank Museum. We especially liked the Spider exhibit.

We had fun in the interactive Georgia exhibit too.

We went back to the Fernbank Science Center to check out the solar eclipse. Lots of fun stuff to do with the girls including going the planetarium and looking through all the big telescopes. Hundreds of people where there.

Pictures of what we are afraid of.

They filled out a questionnaire.

We did the art in the library where they had a big monitor showing a live feed of the eclipse as it passed through Mexico and Texas. Super cool.

I put a filter over my camera, but I didn’t really get a good shot. We had about 85% coverage here in the ATL.

I had never seen the weird shadows caused by the eclipse through the tree leaves. Groovy.

What a fun sun day!

We loved these snowball trees.

Got warm.

Listened to Don Cheto.

Did my laundry and put it up.
