Gear! PE! Balloons! Azalea! 3.3.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:59 pm

I like Eric Barker’s blog.

I talked with billing support at Blue Host. I needed to see how much the domain name registration cost this year. Turned out to be $24.17.

OYB!

Español! I came in #4 last week. Astonishing I did that well with how slammed I was.

Talked to Bill about Bluehost and his website.

Talked with a friend of mine at Roopville Road BC about my stay there.

We have homeless guys that hang out around the church. I sorted and stored all the items I took to the conference from my car. Because this dude was there I had to lock my car, unlock the church lock, lock the church lock, put that one item away, go back to my car, unlock my car, get another item, lock my car, over and over and over again. Usually, I’m by myself and I leave my door unlocked and the church door propped open. But not when some dude is crashed out right beside the door.

Watered my plants.

I brought my carnivores back outside. No threat of freezing for the foreseeable future.

I picked up the girls at the bus. Penelope wasn’t feeling well. She had a temperature, sore throat, and chills. I asked her if there was anything I could get her to eat to make her throat feel better. Perhaps ice cream? Completely covered under the blanket a little voice quietly murmurs “Donuts.”

Everly’s artwork.

In celebration of the completion of the painting of J’s new office, I bought fluorescent colored balloons to match the green walls. Penelope and Everly helped me blow them up and tie them all to a stick. Woggest decoration ever.

Everly and I went to the Mission to work with the kids.

Time changes everything. We keep going.

Teams so far.

Good talk with Nana about my weekend in Carrollton.

Tossed all the remains of the shower remodel into my dumpster. It was SUPER heavy. I cut the bags and took pieces out to make the job more manageable. I still can’t believe they left that stuff for me to get rid of.

This looks interesting. The Kielce brothers have a hotline where you can leave parenting tips.

Just keep going. Tonight I was so tuned in on the assignment.

I find his videos really funny. Strong language advisory.

I got in touch with my old buddy Randy Rainwater today. I’m hoping to connect with him soon. I gave him some places to meet up.

Roopville Road BC Missions Conference! 2.1-2.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:31 am

OYB!

The missionaries met together to share.

I liked their motto.

I keep studying no matter what.

GREAT time with the college students Saturday evening. It was the On The Road Show.

Gassed up my car before going back to my host home.

Temperatures plummeted during the night. I was sleeping on an air mattress. Never could get my butt warm. Made for a hard night.

OYB!

We were interviewed a couple of times during the weekend. I was my usual calm, sedate self.

Good to see friends and a full church.

Pastor Stephen Peeples is one of my favorites. The choir was incredible.

Always good to practice reading in Spanish. John 17.

Final evening.

Got home late. I packed some food for K to enjoy when I got home. It was a tiring weekend. Started my Monday catching up the blog because of wifi issues where I was staying.

Slides! Anthony! Feeders! Roopville! 2.28.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:55 pm

I don’t have a great wifi connection here at the house I’m staying in. Some of the pictures refused to load. Use your imagination!

I ordered primer and flourescent paint for the filing cabinets in J’s new office.

Good chat with Anthony!

Cleaned the bird feeders.

Talked to Nana and listened to Don Cheto on the way to Roopville. Mr. Google took me all over the place to get here including on dirt roads. I just kept praying that the GPS would keep working, which it did.

Newsletter! Post Office! Bank! J’s Office! 2.27.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:21 pm

OYB!

Ordered groceries.

Español!

Wrote and produced my newsletter.

Called the hostess of the house where I’m staying this weekend.

Coordinated the printing of the newsletter with the church secretary.

The spray paint for the filing cabinets came in. Wanted to make sure that Jessi was ok with the color.

Gorgeous day.

Labeled and stuffed the newsletters. Went to the Post Office once to get stamps and again to mail the completed newsletter.

I processed some donation checks and then took them to the bank to deposit. Thank you, Father!

Good chat with Nana on the way home.

Such beautiful weather.

Picked up groceries on the way home.

I took the tape off the windows, cased openings and trim in J’s office. Cleaned up the tarp and folded the other garbage bags to reuse.

Brought my carnivores back inside. The plants could freeze while I’m away this weekend.

Ordered more address labels and the two types of envelopes I use for the newsletters.

Painting! PEK! Azalea! Jacket! 2.26.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:06 pm

OYB!

Dealing with the moving people.

Finished painting J’s new office green. Used 2.5 gallons.

I used over twenty trash bags to mask off the room. After the project is complete, we reuse them.

K & I picked up the girls at the bus. We went to Pho 24 today.

K stayed with the girls at their house while I went to Azalea to work with the kids.

Gorgeous weather.

My map jackets are getting so thin I have to sew them regularly.

I’ve focused on getting the painting jobs done this week. Haven’t had quite as much time to study.

Domain Name! K’s DL! Reservations! PE! Azalea! 2.25.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:00 pm

I worked on the registration for The Food Forest Namibia last night. I reserved the domain for three years. I’m glad to be able to help.

OYB!

K and I went to the DDS where you get a new drivers license. I filled out the forms last night and they gave me a confirmation number. K took her DL, SS card and that number. They gave her #336 and in less than 15 minutes she was at the window. She had to have her vision checked, which she passed. We were finished in thirty minutes. MANY people failed to fill out the forms on line and had to do everything there and THEN wait in line.

Español!

Walked 1.62 miles while I studied.

I’ve been talking to my Mom a lot lately. Lots of things going on. I think everything has moved really smoothly.

I requested the Fellowship Hall at FBC Doraville for the teams I have coming. Looks like I may have added another team this afternoon!

I finished putting the first coat on all the walls in J’s new office. Did a second coat on one wall. Ceiling is finished.

Checked the oil and filled up the Honda.

Checked the mail at my office.

I talked with Pastor John Weldon at Westside BC. He wants to bring a team to work with us for a week. Amen.

I picked up the girls at the bus and went to Burger King to eat. They had fun in their playground. Then on to the Mission!

While the family is living in the Mission, I decided to leave all my stuff outside.

Ashley brought some stuff to give away. Kids go dad gum wild.

Don Cheto.

Got on Southwest.com and procured the tickets for my Mom and Roopa to come to Atlanta.

I’ll probably come in the top five this week.

Carnivores! Prep! TV! PE! Azalea! 2.24.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:20 pm

I’m looking into replacing the vanity in my bathroom. It looks pretty bad.

OYB!

Jessi helped me get Nana’s TV set up. It wasn’t heavy, but it was still a two man job to do delicately.

Español!

I ordered green spray paint to cover the filing cabinets in J’s new office and a bath mat for the shower.

Even without paint there was prep to do. Taped off all the windows. Took tape off of the outlets. She wants them green too. I had already masked them off. Bahd luck.

Freezing weather is on hold for awhile so I took my carnivorous plants back outside. I redid where I keep them. I cleaned the tray they are in completely out and I’m putting the plants directly in it without a secondary tray.

I also rearranged the peppermint roses.

My Mom pulled a muscle in her leg. Looks like she’ll be flying rather than taking that three day, 1,000 miles road trip from Texas to Georgia. Flying is way better. It’s a change in the plan, however. We need to let our friend know what’s going on.

We have a family living at the mission for a few days. I’ll move my stuff outside, until they leave.

I picked Everly up at the bus. We went home to check on Ryder. Later we got Penelope at school. She was at Drama Club.

Helped the kids at the mission.

Don Cheto.

Deposited checks. Thank you, Father.

Office! Anthony! Plants! Podcast! 2.23.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:13 pm

I like this.

Sorry to hear this. Party City was a pretty cool place.

My birthday!

OYB!

Español!

Good chat with Anthony.

Milder today.

I dropped off some old monitors and a laptop along with some little kids clothes at Goodwill.

Went to Stone Mountain to record “How Much?” It’s a good one!

I’m planning to take K to the DMV tomorrow.

Watered all the Green Room plants. I only do the succulents every couple of weeks.

Progress from last night.

Shower Fixings! Jessi’s Office! 2.22.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:37 pm

I decided to get this TV for my Mom’s room. Too good a deal to pass up.

OYB!

Español!

Good talk with my buddy Danou in Namibia. We discussed getting a web site started.

This is the finished product.

Once I finished the paint job, it was time to add all the accessories. The drain cover, bath mat, tension bar, curtain, liner, hooks, baskets and seat pad.

If you work hard, long enough you get results.

I’m thinking about getting this top replaced. It leaks and looks pretty gross. I talked to Roberto about how much that would cost. I sent him this set of pictures.

Here’s what the shower looks like with the accessories.

After I set up the bathroom, I moved to working on Jessi’s new office. I first had to remove everything from the room. Jessi helped get the glass table out. I went through all of the stuff in the filling cabinets. It was like looking into a time capsule from twenty years ago.

Once I got everything out of the room, I gave it a thorough cleaning and vacuum. Also went over the surface of the walls with a slightly damp rag to get rid of the dust.

Then masked off the edges.

Masked off the lights and prepped the room for painting the ceiling.

Started adding the green acrylic paint. It was super thick. Doesn’t cover really well. I cut in the ceiling first.

I ordered another 1.5 gallons. Hopefully, that’ll be enough. I don’t think this paint was actually made for doing a whole room.

Tonight I felt like I had old man hands.

Keep going. Too tight to guess what will happen.

Danou! Painting! Shower! 2.21.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:01 pm

OYB!

Español!

Cold!

I talked briefly with my friend Danou today. He was getting ready to have a big BBQ for the guys that work for him and their families.

Looks like Greenland isn’t much bigger than Alaska.

I painted the newly remodeled shower today. I worked on it for about seven hours. It’s a long process to do right. Started out by sanding down the sheetrock mud. That was a long and messy job.

I needed to shoot this exposed pipe with chrome colored Rustoleum spray paint. Since I had to spray it, that meant that I had to mask off all the areas around it. I found garbage bags worked pretty well.

The prep work of masking everything off is really time consuming.

After doing all the sanding and masking off, the next job is to “cut it in” which means painting around the corners where the roller can’t go.

The last step is using the big roller to fill in the gaps.

It was a hard job. Very intricate. Plus the new paint was almost exactly the color of the old paint, so it was hard to tell what was painted and what wasn’t. Same for when I did the white trim around the window and door frame.

Then it’s time for touching up the little mistakes here and there.

I gave it a second coat to make sure I’d covered it all well.

The door frame is pretty hard too.

I still need to do the final clean up. I think I have everything to set up the shower now too. That’ll be a tomorrow job.

Got an emergency message from the manager at Azalea Place. Of course I let her use the Mission. We can always meet outside. Looks pretty mild next week.

I’ll be at a Global Missions Conference at Roopville Road BC all next weekend. They’re usually fun, but I hate being away from home.

Just keep going. Apparently, I’ve hit a maximum amount of people I follow. I usually like to follow the best players, or if someone follows me.
