Carpet! Mission!
Spent most of the morning and early afternoon working on the carpets at my house. Yes. Again. Kathy was trying to help and poured a bunch of ammonia on where the dog had peed. Made a big stain, so had to scrub and clean it again.
First is the pretreatment with the strong solution of Oxiclean. Deep scrub.
Fill up the container with the clean water and additives.
You hold a lever and water is sprayed out the front end. When you let the handle go, it stops spraying. It constantly vacuums. If you go over it four or five times, the carpet is nearly dry.
Used my new swiffer to clean the kitchen floor.
Like my rainbows?
Looks pretty good now.
After all that cleaning, I had old man’s hands.
Finally got lunch around 2:30pm. Enjoyed reading the new edition of Wired. I liked these bits from the articles.
Finished the Book Thief on Audible today. Over all I’d give it an 8/10.
Started this one.
Went to Decatur to look for a part that goes on the back of one of the drawers I have in our kitchen. I guess they just don’t make that kind any more. Not sure which direction I’ll go in now. Complete replacement of the system is what they advised. I liked this gas pump that was at the Ace Hardware.
Then on to Azalea to work with the kids.
After we finished home work with the kids, I vacuumed and cleaned the carpet in the main room of the mission too.
Mopped the kitchen at Azalea. I like my swiffer better.
Still not sure why I’ve suddenly gone so cleaning mad. I read a book about getting rid of clutter. I’ve been actively doing that. I feel better.
Went back to Lowes this evening to drop off the carpet cleaner. For $27 that’s a pretty good deal. The stuff that goes with it costs about $20 and it lasts three complete carpet cleanings. So that’s about $35. Cheaper, but a lot more work for me for sure.
I liked these upper level clouds. Did you know that con trails from planes play a big part in creating clouds?
Nice icebow today.
Smarter than a Second Grader?
I thought this tree looked like it was on fire.
