Youth Directors! Dahlonega!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:06 pm

Thursday morning I had a fun time with the youth directors in the S. Atlanta Metro area.
s
d

I’m grateful that my friend Larry Lawrence from FBC Jonesboro invited me to make a short presentation to the group about working with us in the International Village.

Larry also told me to make some copies for the people attending the Metro conference of churches. These represent the largest churches in America. Excellent!

After I talked with the group, I picked up Kathy and we drove to Dahlonega to spend the weekend.
t

Although the weather wasn’t very good, we still enjoyed time together. Always something beautiful to see!

I like looking at the antique stores in the area. I always find something fun and interesting to look at.
a
b

This trip I bought an old phone from 1904! It reminded me of the phone my grandparents had at their store in Reagan Wells in Texas. Cool.

Recorded a new podcast while I was in the mountains! One of my best!! Check out “Mountain Man!” Click on the title and strike it rich!

Kathy and I also took a side trip up to Amicolola Falls. It’s the tallest waterfall in Georgia and absolutely beautiful.
a
w

I also enjoyed getting a good mountain run in.
t
Ran about 5.02 miles up some really steep roads. Pretty hard!

K and I came back Sunday. He’s not dead! He is RISEN! I’m so glad that I serve a risen savior!
k

Did you know that when Jesus was crucified it says that many godly Jews came forth from the grave and walked around Jerusalem? I always read something in the Bible I don’t really remember seeing before.

Jesse, Kathy and I went to see the new Johnny Depp movie “Transcendence” this evening.
tr
I found it interesting and I’m glad that it had a good ending and not just the same ol’ “technology taking over the world and killing all the people” idea.
s
Home now to work on making 70 copies of the promotional DVD we made as well as copies for the flier to give to the youth directors. It all takes time!

It looked like God was holding out his hand to me this evening.

Podcast! Marietta! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:15 pm

Recorded a new podcast this morning!
t
One of my favorite things. This one is a doozy.
p

Check out “Mind Matters!” The world is a wonderful and mysterious place. Change your mind and reality changes too! Click on the title and master your world!

Met up with Ashley in Chamblee.
a

We went to Marietta to sign the lease on the mission there at Columns at Bentley Manor.
b
The Brazilian church that had been helping us quit, so we needed to check on the place and clean out some of the stuff there. Overall, everything looks good and we hope we can restart ministry there soon. Please pray for that.

Ashley and I ate lunch at Sabor do Brazil, my favorite Brazilian restaurant and looked around the square in Marietta for a bit before coming back to Azalea. I liked this Jaguar hood ornament.
j
I liked the sound of “music photoplays.”
m

Jesse and I spent some time together at the Barnes and Noble before working with the kids at the mission. GREAT to spend time with BOTH of my kids! AND the mission kids!
k

I like the mission kids helping the other kids too.
m

Ashley went for a hair cut and coloring. This is the before shot. I’m sure it looks even more beautiful now!
h

Came home to run 4.78 miles. Getting dark towards the end of my run. Kind of cold too. Put in the mileage and that’s what counts.

I liked this Easter egg tree.
e

Admin duties now.

Tomorrow, Kathy and I are going out of town for a few days. First I’ll go to Jonesboro to make a presentation to a group of Youth Directors about coming to work with us in the International Village. Pray that MANY of them will want to come and help us!

Looking forward to some time with Kathy!

Errands! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:34 pm

Can’t believe how cold it turned today. Got down to 34 last night. I was disappointed that there was so much cloud cover. Didn’t get to see the lunar eclipse.

Plenty of things to do today!

Focused on getting the donation report updated.
d
With the change of sending the checks directly from our supporters to Whirlwind rather than to NAMB, it increases our paperwork. I make copies of each check before depositing them into the bank. Then I make a record of the deposit onto our donation spreadsheet. Not a big deal really. Lot better than waiting for a full month to deposit funds! I can do everything at the ATM. Even gives me back scanned images of the deposited checks.
d
Ordered some new pens. Pilot G2 bold, blue are my favorite.
p

Filled out a form to the State of Georgia saying our van is officially not being driven.
f
Burned another DVD for a partner who told me the disk I sent him didn’t work. That happens from time to time.
d

Posted several hundred of my proverbs to my Twitter feed.
t
Over 84,000 followers.
t

Did the grocery shopping at Walmart.
g
I thought this was odd.
s

Gassed up the car at Walmart. This was cheap. QT’s gas is up to 3.59.
g

I liked the sound of this.
f

After a brief rest, I went to Azalea to help the kids.
p
a

LOTS of homework today. Glad to have other volunteers to help us.
v

Enjoyed supper with Jesse.
j

Home now to work on admin duties. Look forward to spending time with Kathy. We’ve decided to take our TK weekend trip this weekend. That’ll be fun.

Podcast! Shopping! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:55 pm

Recorded a new podcast this morning! Woot! I always enjoy that. Take a listen to “High Speed – Low Drag!” It will accelerate your life towards JOY! Just click on the title and GROOVE!

Enjoyed eating lunch with Kathy. Great to spend time with her.

Did some shopping at Walmart on the way home.
s

Rested a bit before going to the mission. I’m glad to get back to our regular routine. It’s fun having the teams in town over the last four weeks, but I always miss spending quality time with my kids. When the teams are there, we intentionally don’t spend as much time at the mission, because the kids gravitate towards us rather than the visitors.
t
t

Had supper with Jesse. Then worked on the arrangements for our trip to the UK in May. I love traveling with Jesse. But it’s hard on him. I tend to really push myself on these trips. Plus he has to listen to me snore at night. Never zesty.

Got home around 10:30pm. I was looking forward to seeing the total lunar eclipse this evening. Looks like it’ll be too cloudy. Bahd luck.

Did get to see a red headed woodpecker at the mission. Cool.

Always something different to see!
a
d

We got them over to the mission at Azalea then returned to FBC Doraville. I helped Pastor Bill get the PA system ready for using it with the kids on Saturday. Sadly, looks like someone borrowed my mike and cable. Hopefully, I’ll get it back soon!

Went to the bank to deposit checks. We’ve started our new protocol of supporters sending checks directly to Whirlwind Missions rather than through NAMB.
b

Checked on the teams at the missions! Doing a great job. It’s always sad when it’s their last day.
