Rockbridge! Rundgren!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:45 pm

Had a wild day!

Kathy and I went to Rockbridge Baptist Church this morning!
r
r
They are the sponsoring church for Whirlwind Missions. We enjoyed celebrating their 5th anniversary today!
r

A special surprise was included in that the Barrington family was there!
b

Carl Barrington is the president of our board and is an amazing soloist! It was great to hear him sing!
c

Came home for a brief rest then went to the Variety Playhouse to see one of my favorite artists ever: Todd Rundgren!
r
I went to New York last year especially to see him. Enjoyed that concert and got to meet him in NYC.

This evening I had the same good fortune!
t
Fantastic show and got to meet him and Kasim Sultin, the bass player.
k

Really was a special show as he performed many of my favorite songs such as “Hello, it’s me” and “I saw the light.” I was right up against the stage literally four feet from him. It was fun to talk with him between songs, cheering the band on. A fantastic night.

Podcast! K! Run!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:04 pm

Cleaned the bathroom and gave myself a haircut.
t
Recorded a new podcast this morning! Always one of my favorite things to do! Have you ever considered the fact that you are an animal?
p
Do you remember what it was like to be a kid? Then you’ll find this episode of Verbal Surgery especially interesting! Check out “Wild Child!”

We’ve enjoyed babysitting our granddog, Moogie! She’s been a little sweetheart.
m

Enjoyed lunch with Kathy. Always fun. I liked this tree that was outside our window.
t
Came home to rest. I’ve been burning the candle at both ends recently.

Then for a 5.10 mile run. Felt great! Absolutely beautiful. The dogwoods are spectacular along with the red bud trees. And the azaleas are starting to bloom!

Marietta! Tellus!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:12 am

Woke up early Friday morning to finish up the grant proposal for Dunwoody Baptist Church.
d
Got it in the mail. Pray that my partners there will continue to support us!

Lots of pollen in the air!
p

The dogwood trees are fantastic now!
d

I dropped off the financial report to our treasurer. GREAT job, Ashley for doing this!
f

Got a call late Thursday from the manager at Columns at Bentley Manor in Marietta. It was time to sign the new lease for the mission! Sadly, on the way over, a mere 30 minutes before signing the lease, I got a call from Pastor Rubio whose team had been working there along side of Eastside Baptist Church. BOTH churches said they no longer have the volunteers to help. So sad. So instead of signing the new lease, I told them the bad news that the ministry would stop there. Sometimes the church just doesn’t feel the need to go to the people.

Jesse and I enjoyed Brazilian food at Sabor do Brazil, then went to visit Eastside BC.
v
Place was totally locked up. Oh, well.

I mentioned to Jesse that my favorite museum in Georgia was only 30 minutes away in Cartersville. So we took a ride on up past Marietta to see the Tellus museum.
t

I think it’s a great place! Plenty of dinosaurs, rocks and space stuff!

Dropped Jesse off back at Azalea then came home to spend time with Kathy. We enjoyed watching Elementary and Suits together.

I crashed out early. Too tired to even do my homework.

Saturday morning up early to work on editing and processing videos and burning DVDs for the teams from last week. Working on other admin duties.

I still like to play!

Central and Strong Rock to Plaza Fiesta!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:25 pm

Ashley and I had a fun time with our final briefing and commitment service for our teams from Warner Robbins and Locust Grove.
a
s

Part of our commitment service includes passing a baton from one to another and saying, “He’s counting on me.”
m
s

After our prayer time, the teams signed our “Landing Pad” as a contract for Jesus.

s
One of our Whirlwind Missions traditions involves having your picture taken in the “Sublime Blue Mariachi” hat.
n
s
We took the two groups to experience Latino culture at Plaza Fiesta. Always something different to see!

s
s
s

Delicious food at Mi Tierra!
t

Went back to FBC Doraville to work on the “Bags of Love” project. The kids decorate lunch bags with scripture verses, put a tract and some candy in a bag and hand them out at the apartment complexes.
s
s

Then worked at the missions with the kids!

Strong Rock and Central to Global Mall! Antioch BC!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:07 pm

Ashley and I had fun briefing our teams from Strong Rock Christian School and Central Baptist Church from Warner Robbins, GA!
t
a

We took them on safari to Al Madina to understand more of Islam.
m
m
j

And to Global Mall to see the Hindu temple and eat lunch at Ashiana.
g

g
l

As soon as we finished lunch, I jumped on I85 and headed straight south to Fortson, GA to speak at Antioch Baptist Church.
a
It was more than two hours of driving, but I had a fun time with them! I was pooped after driving. Found a shady spot to rest. My first sleeping selfie.
s
d
s

Got home at nearly 11pm. Uploading pictures now and admin duties before I go to sleep. I get pretty wired when I do these presentations. Takes me a while to get calmed down enough to speak.

My attitude now is to the very best I’ve ever done with every presentation, no matter how small the crowd. “Leave it on the field,” is my battle cry!

UPload! Strong Rock & Central! Asian Square!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:06 pm

April 1st! Means I was able to upload UPload!
u
This is a terrific addition to my collection of podcasts! Perhaps the most wound up, fired up, way UP edition ever! Check out “UPload!” Man, this is a great episode.

Ashley and I enjoyed briefing our team on Buddhism today.

Plenty of Bubblation!
b

Then off to Asian Square. Always something interesting and beautiful to see.
