Gathering all the things I’m taking to the UK on Wednesday.
s
Cleaned out my bubble wands. I’ll take them with me.
s

Cleaned my fish tank. I added new gravel to the bottom. It’ll be easier to clean than the sand.

Worked outside. Always something interesting to see.

s
Took my palms outside.
s

Put my plants from Tybee into soil.
s
They look happy.
s

My Plumeria cutting from Hawaii came in today! Amazon is amazing. I put her in the soil.
s

Paid all the bills.
s

Had fun working at the mission with the kids.
s
s
Had supper with Miles and Ashley at Thai of Norcross. We took them out for Miles’ birthday! Jesse came later. He was at a science meet up at Georgia Tech.

Podcast! T&K! Tybee! Savannah!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:19 pm

s
Thursday morning I recorded a new podcast!

s
I love this edition on the character that we play in this reality. Check out “The Show!”

Kathy and I had a fun TK weekend! She loves being on the road!
k

Loaded up the car with the bikes. They play an integral role in our trips. I love exploring a city by bike.
s
Our ultimate destination on our weekends is Tybee Island/Savannah. We enjoy going when there are not too many people. Plus a lot cheaper. It was supposed to rain the whole time. Not a drop until this morning. It was overcast, which is fine by me.

Beautiful sunset as we left Atlanta.

s

Yeah, baby!
s

I really enjoyed shooting the plants and flowers in Tybee and Savannah. Especially with the Super Vivid filter on.

The lighthouse is a must do.

The beach is always beautiful.

s

I rode 20 miles one day. We were pooped.
s

The monochrome filter also gave interesting effects.
s

I collected some small succulents on my trip. I felt like Darwin.
s

Lots of cicadas this weekend.
s

It has been damp and rainy. Mushrooms!

Of all sizes.
s

s

Bonaventure cemetery is always a high point of my trip.
s
s
s
s
Exquisite carvings.
s
s
s
s
s
I always go and clean up my grave. This time someone had put a pink bunny behind the headstone!
s
And the lawn guys are taking care of it, too. Funny.

The site is near the very southern edge of the cemetery. I often find old flowers that have been thrown away. I wash them off and put them up.
d
I also found this old bottle when I was picking up flowers.
s

It also has a view to the river.
s
Kathy likes to sit here and watch the boats.

I love reading the Hebrew inscriptions. Or pretending to.
a

My favorite mode of transportation.
s

Beauty.
s
s
s

We rode 12 miles on this Tybee RR trail.
s

It was overcast and an easy ride for me. I practiced riding my bike with no hands nearly the whole way.
z

d

I’m enjoying playing with the filters. Even monochrome has it’s place.
s
s
The road was washed away in a couple of places. I had to hike the last half mile on foot.
s

I like the prayer flags.
a
s
z
s
s
Always something interesting to see.
s

I enjoyed visiting River Street. I park my car and ride my bike up and down the streets in the historic district.
s
s
Amazing trees!
s

I remember when they covered the cobblestones with dirt and shot the parade scene for the movie Glory.

I always visit St. John the Baptist Cathedral. It’s my favorite.

They’ve done a recent renovation. More beautiful than ever.

Magnificent stained glass.

I visited the old WTOC TV11 building. Many good memories there.
s
SCAD took the building over. It’s called Keyes Hall now. It’s an admin building.
s

Did you know I have nine Associated Press awards for my work in news?

I actually started wearing the map jacket this weekend. Cooling off!

Olga! Ashley! UK! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:38 pm

On Tuesday, Ashley and I met with Olga Williams from Jamaica. She is the director of one of our missions in Duluth, The Falls.
s

We’re trying to help her raise up volunteers and get her funding.

Went by Global Mall to check on supplies for our trip to the UK.
s

Worked with the kids at the mission.
s

I liked this picture Kathen drew.
s

Ate supper with Jesse.

Got home late. K was super tired. Didn’t get much time with her. I was tired, too. Went on to sleep.

Wednesday morning I went for a 5.29 mile run.
x

Always something beautiful to see.
s
s
x
s
x
x

They had a fire at this house. They’re getting a whole new roof.
s

Hmmmm.
s

Loved the high altitude cirrus clouds.
s
s

There is a HUGE difference in running five miles when it’s in the 70’s and when it’s in the 90’s! I got home and still felt fine. Planted 24 tulip bulbs. Never planted bulbs before.
s
s
I planted them in three different areas of my yard. These are near the mail box.
s

Had fun with Ashley, Jesse and Miles today. We went for a late lunch at Plaza Fiesta.
s
I thought Miles looked great in the wrestler mask.
s
s
Scary Ashley.
s
I saw these purple bell peppers at the Buford Highway Farmers Market.
s

Then went around the mall looking for small gifts for the Jacquin family that Ashley and I will be staying with in England next week. Hard to believe it’s really next week.

Worked with the kids at the mission.
s

We had some new volunteers come this week from Perimeter Church. Always fun to have families.
s

Kathy and I watched Naked and Afraid this evening on TV. Man, that’s a rough show. I sure wouldn’t do that. No shoes? No, thanks.

Admin duties now.

Are you smarter than a 1st grader?
s

They are tearing down the old Toyota dealership near my house.
s
I liked the footgear.

UK! Ashley! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:46 pm

Last night I confirmed with my friend in England that his wedding is on October 5th! It’s a good time for me because we don’t have any teams in town that week. And Ashley is going with me! My friend’s wife has horses and rides a lot. Ashley is super interested in that! My friends live on a farm out in the midlands of the UK. Fabulous.

I’m not even going to London this time at all. We won’t be staying very long. I’d rather spend time with my friends than at museums.

Jesse and Mr. Tony can run the mission while we’re gone for a week.

Ashley came over for lunch. Always good to see her!
s

Sugar came by to visit us.
s
She lives at our neighbor’s house now. Lisa is Sugar’s other mother. Sugar still comes by to visit. She’s getting old.

She was originally Ashley’s dog.
s

Worked with the kids at the mission.
s
s
Fun times!
s

Stopped at Walmart to look for rat traps for the mission. We’ve killed two so far. Needless to say, Jesse hasn’t been crazy about having rats crawling around his room. I know the feeling. The same thing happens every winter in my house.

Watched the end of Three Days to Kill with Kathy. Had some funny parts. Kind of overly sappy at times.

Admin duties now.

Beautiful clouds on the way home.
s
Almost looked like it was on fire.
s
Cotton candy.
s
The Duck Commander in Chief.

TV! Writing! Run!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:53 pm

I enjoyed a restful morning. I watched Jeff Lyle from Meadow Church in Lawrenceville, GA. I thought he was quite good. He preached on Elisha from 1 Kings.

Did some creative writing.
s
Posted it to my twitter feed. Believe it or not, my twitter feed is basically my version of sermon notes.

Kathy and I enjoyed brunch together, as we watched Wadjid–a story in Arabic about a young muslim girl who wanted to ride a bike. It was very interesting.

After the movie, I went for a 5.08 mile run. I’m listening to a new book on Audible called The Martian. It’s excellent. It’s about an astronaut that gets stuck on Mars and how he uses his environment to survive. Reminds me of MacGiver.

Always something beautiful to see. I’m enjoying my Super Vivid filter. Pictures really pop.
s
s
s
s
s

I’ve enjoyed seeing the mushrooms.
s

Kathy fixed me supper and we started watching Three Days to Kill with Kevin Costner. Pretty good so far.

Got a wedding invitation from my friend in England.
s
s
s
Trying to figure out the exact dates I would be there. The wedding is October 5th, so there’s not much time to get stuff organized.

Jesse came over to visit us this evening. Never too much Jesse!

Admin duties now.

Cafe Istanbul! Fernbank! K!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:11 pm

I enjoyed an interesting day!

My Gardenia bush had another flower this morning. Beauty smell.
s
Beautiful golden orange mushrooms. Wish I would have noticed them a few days ago.
s
Ridges, not gills.
s

Went to eat at Cafe Istanbul.
s

I love the decor. The colors are awesome.

s
s
s
s

s
s

I sat outside. The air was great.
s
I had the whole place to myself.
s
I was missing my English buddies.

Food was as beautiful as it was delicious. Lamb kebab. Yeah, baby!
s
I used the hot sauce sparingly.
d

Then went to the Astronomy Club meeting that was held at the Fernbank Science Center. It’s not the big Fernbank with IMAX, it’s another much smaller museum, but it does host the planetarium and the big telescope.
s
s
Mercury 7 capsule.
s

Bee hive.
s

I like this T. Rex skull.
s

Always something to explore. Like this meteor.
s

They were also selling plants today. Nothing that really interested me.

Had a nice rest when I came home.

Then took Kathy out to Piccadilly for some fried fish. Man. It was so good.

Rob & Barnabas! Ash & J! Run!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:38 pm

Stayed up late editing the video that Ashley and I shot on Thursday. Burned the DVD and got it into the mail this morning.
s

Ashley and Jesse had an early morning to get their new phones. J got his. The exact model Ashley wanted wasn’t available. Jesse made his old one work for her.

Ashley and I enjoyed having lunch with Rob Martin and his friend Barnabas for lunch. He’s from Cambodia. It was exciting to hear what the Lord is doing in his country.
s
s
We took them to Plaza Fiesta.

Also took a side trip to the Buddhist temple in our area. Fantastic carvings that monks from Tibet did on the door.
s
x
s
s
Quite a door knocker!
s
I liked these paintings on the sidewalk.
as
a

After our time together, the Apple store called me to let me know that Ashley’s computer was repaired. Please pray that the data we need on it is still there. Represents a LOT of work that Ashley has done for our ministry.

Dropped off the Financial Report to our treasurer.
s

Came home to spend a little time with Kathy, then went for a 5.02 mile run.

It was beautiful and nice and cool. I had fun playing with the “Super Vivid” filter on my camera. The pictures are exquisite.

Podcast! Recon! Movie! Mission! Norths!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:42 pm

Enjoyed recording a new podcast this morning!
s
Want to make your brain shiny? Then check out “Brain Polish!” You’ll feel better NOW!

Met up with Ashley for lunch.
s

Went to check on our church partners at Crossroads Church in Dunwoody.
d

They have hosted thousands of our team members. We had heard that they may be changing their minds on that idea. I thought it was a good idea to go over and encourage them to hang in there with us!

My good friends at Main Street Baptist Church in Georgetown, TX are having their 25th anniversary next month. They invited me to make a video for their celebration. Ashley helped me shoot it today. I just finished editing the piece and burning a DVD for them. I hope they find it amusing . . . and inspirational!

Went over to brother Bayo’s house. He gave me a new hat! Dapper.
s

Had fun working with the kids at the mission.
s
s
s
Ashley and I met up with Miles, Kathy and Jesse for supper at Ian and Ruthie North’s house.
s
s
It was great to see the baby! Jack is a real beauty.
s

Enjoyed watching a series on PBS about FDR this evening. He used to come to Warm Springs, GA frequently to treat his polio. It’s cool to think he was there.

Admin duties now.

Beautiful flower this afternoon at the Forum where we ate lunch.
s

I liked the shapes of these mushrooms.
s
s
Cool ivy.
s

I always see something different at Plaza Fiesta!

Run! Dentist! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:47 pm

Had a strong 5.03 mile run this morning. Always something beautiful to see.

s
s
Lots of mushrooms to peruse.
s

s
s

Rested after I cooled down.

Then went to the dentist for my annual cleaning.
s
No cavities.
s
Sorry, that was kind of gross. You can scroll up and look at the flowers again if you need to.

Had a good time with the kids.
s

Sure was wonderful to have Ashley back!

She had a problem with her phone and her computer. Ouch. Double whammy.

Went to Walmart to pick up a few items before I went home. That included rat traps. So far Jesse has killed two rats in the apartment.

Came home. Admin duties now.

Podcast! Palms! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:30 pm

I enjoyed recording a new podcast this morning! Always fun.
s

This is a terrific episode! We are grown ups with a baby in charge. It’s time to “Train the Baby!” Just click on the title and groove!

s

Added some creative writing to my twitter feed. Good stuff!
s

I like the changes to my foyer. I now call it the “Green Room.”
s
s
Here are some of the new cacti I’ve added to my collection.
s
s
s
s
Here are the palms I bought.
p
s
I like this bromeliad.
s
Fabulous young schefflera arboricola.
s

I also organized all my microscope equipment to take to the mission.
s
These are my prepared slides.
s

I’m enjoying my gardenia bushes. Even though they’re small, they’re producing some lovely flowers. The flower vase is from the 1950s.
v
Hand scrubbed some doggy footprints.
s
Mooglie is back home with her parents tonight! Ashley had a problem with her phone, so I haven’t been able to get in contact with her much. Looking forward to seeing her tomorrow!

Ate a late lunch with Jesse.

Then made a stop at Walmart to pick up six more of the large palm plants. I couldn’t get over that they were only $5.00! Kind of hard to see on the the way home!
s

Enjoyed working with the kids at the mission.
s
I liked seeing an older brother help his little sister.
s

Added soil and watered the palms when I got home.
s
Some of them had fallen over and I secured them in their pots. Soon, I’ll need to repot them all into larger containers.

Tiny mushroom in my yard.
s

Watched a PBS special on the Roosevelt family with Kathy. Teddy Roosevelt was my favorite president. It was very interesting. I couldn’t believe he died at the age of sixty!
