Colorado! Global Mall! Temple! Al Madina! Missions!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:23 pm

Ashley, Penelope and I had a fabulous time with our team from Colorado this morning. Love me some Baby P!
s

We always enjoy briefing the teams!
s

We discussed the relationship between Judaism, Christianity and Islam this morning.
s

Then had our Red Thread ceremony. Every team member has a partner that ties the Red Thread on their wrist. This becomes their Prayer Trigger to remind them to pray for their lost friends.
s

Took them on safari to the Shiv Mandir and Ashiana at Global Mall.
s

This was the first time many of them had ever tried Indian food!
s

The temple is always interesting.
s
s

Experienced the BAPS Hindu temple.
s
s

Then to Al Madina to get our Middle East experience.
s
s

I organized our boxes for The Show every morning.

Went by CD Tower to pick up more Long Life, Happy Life papers.
s

Got more laminating sheets and notecards for the briefings.

s
Dropped off my amplifier and mic to Ian and Ruthie North.

Came home to watch Arrested Development with K.

Admin duties now.

Colorado Navigators! BHFM! Missions!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:21 pm

Ashley, Penelope and I had a great time briefing our team from Colorado this morning!
s
s

Always a fun time!
s
s

We took them on Safari to the Buford Highway Farmers Market.
s
s

They showed us the live eels. Yuk.
s

We got them on their five sites. Looking good!

Ashley and I spent time talking to a possible CPA to help us with an audit.

Also talked to our friend Bennett Ekandem about one of our partners. As my Daddy would say, “The hardest part of doing missions is working with the other missionaries.” Sadly, that’s often the case.

We went to Azalea to check on the team.
s
s
s

Penelope is always the hit of the show!
s

While I was there, I saw one of my grown up young men, Estuardo. GREAT to see one of my original youth group!
s

Back to the church to set up the material for tomorrow.

Then home. Had fun talking to my friends in England, Anthony Jacquin and Marcus Lewis. Always great!

Kathy and I are watching a movie from Italy called “The Man Will Come.” It’s about Italy during WWII. Not a happy movie.

Admin duties now. A lot to do including the names over over 70 people.

Beautiful clouds!

FBC Doraville! Set Up! Prep!

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:26 pm

I reset all the clocks in the house last night. I went to sleep early. No problem getting up. Hope that’s true on Monday!

This morning I went to First Baptist Church of Doraville! This is our partnering church in ministry in the International Village.
s
s

Pastor Bill Kelly was away. He went to Riverdale, GA to do the funeral for his Dad. Sad.
s

His friend, Justin, preached. He did well, but he sure wasn’t Pastor Ben!

After the service, I ate lunch. Then came back to the church to prep the sanctuary for The Show tomorrow morning.
s
Also made sure I knew how to turn on the PA for Ash and I to use.

We have nearly 40 men camping out in the Fellowship Hall where Ashley and I normally do the briefings. I enjoy using the sanctuary, but I hate to have to cost the church money to cool it down. Not too bad during the spring!

After setting up, I went to Walmart to pick up some more “Hello, my name is” stickers.
s

Also to Lowes to make a couple of keys for the sanctuary.
s

Went back to the church to drop off the original sanctuary key.

Then to the Dollar Tree to pick up some more markers.
s

We use markers to write their names on the stickers. Easier to read!

K hasn’t been feeling great. She went to SS at Westside, then came home. I picked up some Popeye’s Chicken for her on my way home.

Signed all the paper work for my taxes. I’ll get that in the mail tomorrow morning. I’m only getting back about 1/4 of what I usually get because we had a car donated to the ministry for me to use. That is classified as additional income.

Wrote a note to one of our supporters.

Admin duties now.

Two Waffle Houses right next to each other. Never seen that before!

Editing! Glasses! Zoo!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:30 pm

This morning I continued editing the video that I shot for my teams last week.
s

I finished the editing, uploaded the video to YouTube and sent an email to the teams with the links to their photo galleries and video.

I burned the DVDs for the teams and got one in the mail. Still waiting for the snail mail address to send the other to Virginia.

Kathy and I enjoyed a fun day together!

I took her to our favorite BBQ place: Crazy Ron’s. So good.
s
s

s

Then took a sandwich to Azalea for Jesse. I’m sure he’ll be glad about that!

Took Kathy’s glasses to a repair shop off of Clairmont.
s
I liked these tiles.
s

While we waited, we checked out Desta Ethiopian restaurant.
s
Jesse and my friend Ian have talked to me about it a lot. I’ve always gone to another Ethiopian place literally across the street.

Looks very promising.

K’s glasses look great! They are her favorite. One of the little kids she works with broke them.

Then to Zoo Atlanta! We enjoyed driving through downtown Atlanta. What a magnificent city!
s

The Zoo was fabulous.

Came home to finish work on the DVDs and admin duties.

Reset all the clocks in the house.

I actually like Daylight Savings Time, except for the first few days.

K and I watched Sherlock this evening. Good times.

I love the Pink Magnolias in my yard.

Errands! Editing!

Tim A. Cummins @ 3:33 pm

My ear seems a bit more stopped up this morning than yesterday. Please keep praying for me!

Met up with Kathy for lunch. Her co-worker had an emergency, so K has to cover the whole day.

Went to Walmart to pick up the groceries.
s

Cleaned out the hummingbird feeders and set them out. I leave a couple up all year long in case migrant birds show up.
s
s
Can’t believe it’s already mid 70s!
Paid bills. Heating was expensive, even though we keep the house around 60.
s
Repaired my shoulder bag.
s

Worked on editing the video I shot this week.
s

I consider the team completed when I’ve sent them the final email with links to all the photos Ash and I shot as well as the link to the video I shot on YouTube.

Once all the digital media is posted, I then burn a disk to send to them for their archives.

Takes time!

Admin duties now.
