Research! AP! K’s Lungs! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:52 pm

This morning I worked on the Research List focused on Indiana.

Paid bills and got them in the mail.

Our neighbor Lisa, brought her new dog over. She was our dog Sugar’s “Other Mother.” Eventually, Sugar just lived with Lisa and her husband. The sweet ol’ dog died just a couple of weeks ago.

Great to have lunch with Ashley and Penelope. Baby is better but still has a runny nose and coughing. Sad. She’s on meds and I’m sure she’ll make a swift recovery.

P is incredibly athletic and agile. It’s hard to constantly be vigilant. She can put herself into a dangerous situation so fast.

Took Kathy to her Lung Doctor today.

K’s lungs are healing, but she needs to stay on the oxygen.

Went to Clarkston to pick up the girls then on to the mission.

We had a couple of new volunteers today.

Kathy helped me match the tax donation letters to our donors. Ashley had printed out the letters for us and calculated how much they’d given.

I also went through our mailing list for our donors and marked those that had given and those that hadn’t. Every year, we send a letter asking those people who haven’t given if they want to stay on the list.

Gorgeous sunset!

Podcast! KJAP! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 12:39 am

This morning I had fun: RECORDING!

A timely version of Verbal Surgery -425- “DOOR!”

A piece on borders in and around us.

Uploaded to my server.

Link on Facebook.

Had a great lunch with Kathy, Ashley and the Magnificent Baby.

Penelope wasn’t feeling well. Although she pretty much always seems to be in a good mood.

Came home to rest. Still not feeling that groovy.

Picked up the newsletters from the Atlanta Metro Baptist Association.

Went to our office at FBC Doraville to pick up checks and water my Ficus.

Went to the mission to work with the kids. Penelope isn’t feeling well, so Ashley stayed home to take care of her. Baby is Job #1.

The kids got a big kick of me showing them pictures from 5 years ago on Facebook. I just spent time on my phone going to old galleries to show them tomorrow.

Enjoyed supper with Jesse. Always delightful conversation.

Gassed up my car. Twenty one cent difference between MY QT and the QT on Buford Highway.

Came home to work on photocopying the checks and getting them ready to deposit tomorrow.

There were a lot of checks in memory of my Dad Al A. Cummins.

Printed out the labels for another 120 churches that I’ve added in the last week or so.

Admin Duties now. K was nearly asleep by the time I got home.

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:33 pm

I was very tired from the conference. Still don’t feel well. Rested most of the day in bed.

Had lunch with Jesse and his friend. It was windy outside.

Came home and went back to bed.

Watched Raising Hope and the 3 Musketeers with K this evening.

Admin duties now.

Interesting clouds.

Pointy! Reminded me of Africa.

Conclave Chattanooga!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:06 pm

Friday, I drove to Chattanooga for Conclave which is a meeting for Youth Directors.

There were about 1,000 people there from over 300 churches. I spent time getting packets together to hand out at the conference.

I still wasn’t feeling well so after doing a recon of the location, I went back to my hotel to rest.

I stayed at Knight’s Inn in Lookout Valley. Way cheaper. And I like the view.

This morning I spent hours talking to people at the conference and handing out promo materials.

The displays for the ministries and camps were pretty incredible. It costs over $500 just to have a spot there.

I decided just hanging out in the halls talking to people was probably just as effective.

I did see a few people I knew there. They all talked about how working with us was one of the best mission trips ever. Made me feel good.

I also had people tell me that they had seen our mail outs. Also a win.

The conference was over at noon and I pretty much came straight home. My feet were tired from standing up.

Enjoyed watching Raising Hope with Kathy. She’s feeling better tonight. Fever is gone.

Admin duties now.

I saw this at an antique store. Funny.

Research! Family! Sickish!

Tim A. Cummins @ 12:20 am

Wednesday I wasn’t feeling well.

Spent a lot of time in bed resting.

I wrote my newsletter and produced it. Emailed it to our friend at the Atlanta Metro Baptist Association.

Printed out the labels for our donors.

While I was in bed, I worked on the Research List.

I’m making great progress.

So far I’ve completed 13 of the 14 states on my original list.

There are 157 cities I’ve worked through so far. I still need to finish Illinois and then the initial project will be complete. I have added over 630 churches to the list.

We enjoyed Thai food together on Wednesday.

Thursday, I’m still not feeling that well, but I’m better. I continued to work on the Research List.

Enjoyed watching Raising Hope with K. She’s been feeling even worse than me.

Jesse came over for lunch. Always great to spend time with him.

Penelope is feeling bad. She’s running a fever and had a bad time last night. K is running a low grade fever too.

Admin duties now.

I’m planning on going to Chattanooga tomorrow for a Youth Director conference. Hope I’m feeling well enough. All three of my girls are sick are taking care of sick people.

I liked this bumper sticker.

New high scores.

Sickish! Amy!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:31 pm

We had nearly 4″ of rain this weekend.

Woke up feeling better. Still coughing. Kinda weak.

Met up with Ashley and the Magnificent Baby in Clarkston.

We had a fun lunch with Amy Barrett, who is the Missions Committee Chairman for Peachtree Corners Baptist Church.

We took her on Safari to Plaza Fiesta and Asian Square.

Then over to the Atlanta Baptist Association to pick up some flyers that our friend Joel Harrison made for us.

Went to Walmart to pick up some supplies.

Dropped Ash and the baby off and came on home. Still not feeling well.

Played some games.

Rested.

Dad’s Funeral! Austin!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:51 pm

Thursday morning, Kathy and I met up with Miles, Ashley and Penelope at FBC Doraville to get on board the Marta, travel to the airport and fly to Austin.

My Mom and cousin Brandon picked us up and took us to Georgetown, TX where we met up with Jesse. He had come down to several days earlier in order to be there for my Mom’s birthday party. Penelope was the hit of the show.

We had great family times!

Also went on Safari to Austin to check out Nature’s Treasures–a terrific rock shop.

I think this is the biggest geode I’ve ever seen.

Then to Switched On to see some vintage synthesizers.

Ate pizza at Home Slice, some of the best I’ve ever had.

Always cool street art in Austin. I was a part of that scene in the 80s.

Never seen this before.

Later, we got caught in traffic from people who had been in Austin marching.

We went to Georgetown for my Dad’s funeral.

I saw many life long friends there.

The service was very meaningful, and actually funny! Dad would have loved it.

I love spending time with Penelope.

She pushed this chair around in the airport.

I watched some of the inauguration.

I will pray for our new president.

Went back to the airport in Austin on Sunday. Unfortunately, severe weather in the Atlanta are put us REALLY late getting home last night. We didn’t get home till around 3am. Ouch. I had been coughing the last few days, and had a bad headache last night and today. Feel pretty puny today.

Had lunch with Jesse and Kathy, then went back to bed. Still not feeling well.

Admin duties now.

Painted a chair for Kathy before we left.

Beautiful clouds.

Sunsets!

Never forget.

Kathy, Ashley and Penelope and I had a fun lunch together.

Bad wreck on 78 near our house. No one was hurt.

Came home to rest. Getting ready for the trip to Texas on Thursday.

Gassed up the car.

Then on to the mission!

Group was there working on the internet for Comcast. Checking the entire complex.

LOT of kids today. Fortunately, I had a couple of my girls help some of the other kids. Ashley was taking care of Miles. He thought he might have food poisoning. That’s not zesty.

Enjoyed watching “Raising Hope” with K. Funny show.

Admin duties now. Still need to upload the podcast and get it on line.

Beauty.

High score in Battlefront. Such a fun game.

Research List! Penelope!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:15 pm

Completed the first ten states of the Research List.

Started on my last four: Virginia, W. Virginia, Ohio and Illinois. The last two are just the southern half of the state. I’m trying to approach the list by how long it takes to get here.

Got another 19 letters in the mail. Way to go, Kathy!

Ashley brought Penelope over to spend the day. Always awesome! She was sleeping when she arrived.

She slept about two hours this afternoon. We had fun playing!

Love my girls!

Kathy just went for a bike ride. Working on Admin Duties now.

I liked the geometry.

This represents America to me in so many ways.

Beauty.

This morning I enjoyed RECORDING!

Love this special MLK episode of Verbal Surgery -423- “Dream!”

Worked on the Research List.

I discovered I had a few extra towns that were on the backs of the cards. Finished Arkansas. A few more left and I will have completed the original ten towns.

Added more to our email list for Arkansas and N. Carolina.

I got my map out again and figured out the towns I need to work on in Virginia, W. Virginia and the southern parts of Ohio and Illinois.

I have over 560 entries on the Research List now. Could be another 100 with the addition of the four new areas.

Did the shopping.

Enjoyed watching Raising Hope with K.
