Cold! Presite! Girls! 1.21.19

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:34 pm

Lunar eclipse Sunday night!

Super cold!

Studied Spanish!

My buddy Matt Hale is doing great in Australia!

Learning parts of Wordsworth’s poem Ode: Intimations on Immortality

Picked up the mail at FBC Doraville. Talked with our office manager to see about the church helping us print our newsletter.

Met up with our friends Scott and Melody from FBC Jonesboro. They will be coming to work with us this Summer. Love choir teams!

We ate at the Buford Highway Farmers Market, then took them to China Town.

Never too much girl time!

I always think Everly is going to get a crick in her neck.

I liked this tea!

China Town is a cool place.

I spotted the International Space Station for the 42nd time this evening! Terrific visibility!

The moon was gorgeous this evening!

Westside! Research! 1.20.19. Eclipse!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:32 pm

Studied. You know the drill.

Talked to my buddy Bob Burns in Scotland.

Went to Westside BC.

Pastor Ben spoke on tithing.

Been reading the book Stealing Fire.

Brought my carnivorous plants in. Supposed to be a hard freeze tonight and tomorrow night.

Talked to my buddy, Anthony.

Put extra food out for the birds and animals. I always get concerned when it’s so cold.

Added material to my Twitter feed. My sermon notes!

I continue to do research on my trip to the desert in the summer. The dust from the playa is toxic. It’s important to wear the proper kind of dust mask is there’s a whiteout.

Played some Black Ops.

Kathy got home safely from her trip to SC. She had a good visit with her Uncle Jack as well as three of her siblings.

Looks like it will be clear enough to see the lunar eclipse this evening. Hope so!

Girls! A&M! 1.19.18

Tim A. Cummins @ 3:52 pm

I thought this was an interesting email from Runkeeper, one of my favorite apps.

Spanish!

Went through donations and got them ready to deposit. Sign, take pictures of them for our records.

Deposited money into my account as well. Amen for both!

Added to my list of scripture and poems I have memorized.

Deposited physical checks into Bank of America for Whirlwind.
Recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery called, “Golden Idle.”

Rained pretty hard Saturday. I watched the girls while Ashley and Miles went to a comedy show. Traffic wasn’t too bad.

Listened to radio from Madrid on the way to Chamblee.

Great time watching the girls.

Sweet couple!

We always have a fun time!

Good visit with my Mom. We used these silly little games that Facebook messenger has. Girls thought they were hilarious.

Nothing sweeter.

Got home around midnight. Went on to bed. Admin duties now.

Donors! Girls! Podcast! 1.18.19

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:00 pm

Lunar eclipse coming on Sunday night! Hope it’s clear!

Studied. You know what.

Got almost all of the donor’s tax letters ready last night. Went to the Post Office to get stamps for those letters and for our newsletters.

Put the stamps on the letters and got them in the mail. Amen!

Went by FBC Doraville to pick up the mail.

Checks!

Picked up the girls and took them to lunch at Taco Veloz, then over to the Dollar Tree and Plaza Fiesta!

I like the hat.

Everly crashed out.

Penelope had a grand time.

P finally went to sleep on the way home from Plaza Fiesta. Everly laid with me, but didn’t go back to sleep. Still sweet to have her with me.

Listened to a sermon by Tito and to Radio Garden from Madrid on the way home.

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery -628- “Low Goals.”

The way to get things done? Chew up smaller pieces! Click on the title and GROOVE!

Uploaded to server.

Link on Facebook.

Transferred my recording from yesterday onto my Mac.

I prefer to be two weeks ahead, which is what I’m at now. I’ll probably record another episode tomorrow morning, just because I enjoy it.

Girls! Mission! Donor letters! 1.17.19

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:39 pm

It’s my Mom’s birthday today! Happy Birthday Nana! THANKS for everything you’ve done for me!

Worked on Stopping by Woods by Robert Frost. Just about have it nailed.

Working on Emily Dickinson’s “Because I could not stop for death” now.
Studied Spanish this morning. Yeah, baby!

Progress!

Recorded another edition of Verbal Surgery this morning.

Astonishing how much I love to hear myself talk.
I watched the girls while Ashley worked on the Donor Tax letters. Took them to Chic-Fil-A,
Goodwill and Dunkin Doughnuts. Good times!

We all have fun.

Helped the kids at the mission. It was rainy, but we still had a good group!

Whenever I go to Goodwill, I always look for different percussion instruments for our Golden Box of Jams for the teams. I found several good ones today. Dropped them off at the church.

I collated the letters that Ashley wrote for the donors with the address labels, signed and stuff the envelopes. There are still a few gaps that we’ll figure out soon. Some people gave on line and I didn’t have the address. Others, I think may have donated that we need to verify did not.

In March, the people that have not given all year will get a note with the newsletter saying that have to send back the form or else they’ll drop off the list. That we keep a high percentage of people that receive the newsletter that also give. Why waste the stamp?

Took about two hours for me and three hours for Ashley. Not an easy job, but a necessary one!

Lester! Podcast! Mission! Groceries! 1.16.19

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:40 pm

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery -627- “Polite Awakening.”

Just click on the title and GROOVE! Be polite and improve!

It got cold outside and in my room last night!

I keep my Mac on my lap in the bed with a blanket over it. It warms up nicely!

Studied. Progress!

I’m continuing my resolution from 2018 of memorizing scripture and poetry. Usually I come across a passage of scripture that I really resonate with, and I focus on that. Poetry is a little different. LOTS of stuff out there. What’s the most fun to learn by heart. Jabberwocky by Lewis Carol and Ozymandius by Percy Bysshe Shelley are my two favorites to quote. Although I really enjoy Tyger by William Blake. I found a book on Amazon titled “100 Best Poems to Memorize.” Pretty much a book for everything!

Great lunch with my brother Lester Ruiz! What a blessing he is to me. I’m glad I’ve started reaching out to people.

Recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery. Love it.

Today was my Indian name, “Full Sun Moon.”

Great time at the mission with the kids!

I shot a promo for Meadowbrook church today. Trying to do something in 20 seconds takes skill.

Maybe you heard that the Super Bowl will be in Atlanta this year!

Got the groceries.

I got comms in for the Playa! I’m hoping to put them into good use here in the ATL as well.

It’s a compact size and has a loop for a carabiner at the top. Great thinking. I charges nigh batteries via USB. I will probably use standard AA batteries. They have more oomph than the rechargeables.

Model # SC307-3C

I got the thin mirror sheets in as well. I cut some of it up and put it on my jacket to see who it will look on the lab coat. I think it’ll be terrific.

Absolutely shocked I didn’t take a picture of it.

Matt! Tito! Anthony! Azalea! 1.15.19

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:05 pm

Had a great talk with my buddy, Matt Hale last night! All the way from Perth, Australia! That’s 13 hours ahead of us in the ATL. Great talking plans for the desert trip in August!

Fun lunch with my brother Tito Ruiz today!

He’s part of my Contact Resolution for 2019!

Deposited checks on the way to the mission.

Also got in touch with my best friend Anthony. Fun talk with him as well.

Great time with the mission kids!

Studied Español when I got home from the mission. Listened to Tito’s sermon on the way home. Great for learning!

Girls! Aldi! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:08 pm

I thought I had lunch meeting with some church friends today. Turns out I was a week early! More time with the girls!

I went for groceries with Ashley. I saw this sign on the way in to Aldis.

Aldis was an interesting place. I normally only shop at Walmart.

Worked with the kids at the mission!

They finished their studies pretty quick then went into play mode. After a while I sent them home. Just gets too crazy.

Imagine this going back and forth about 50 mph.

Talked to AAA this evening about a bill. The chip on my card stopped working so I had to get a replacement. It’s the same number, but the expiration date is different. I had to let them know the change or the service stops. We’ve had lots of older cars. AAA is pretty much mandatory IMH.

Heard from my buddy Matt Hale today! Looks like he’ll be going to Burning Man with us! Super psyched about that.

Studied Español when I got home from the mission.

I listened to Eng/Span sermons by Tito on the way home. Great practice.

Podcast! Plants! 1.13.19

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:29 pm

Studied. You know it!

There are a lot of things to research when you’re going to the desert for a week. One of the challenges is comms. Phones do not work out there, or shouldn’t be counted on. These little two ways should do the trick, plus will be fun with the kids.

Recorded a new podcast! Always my best therapy!

Played some BO4.

Watered my plants.

Put the new recordings onto my computer.

Burning Man! Anthony! Rob! 1.12.19

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:12 pm

Saw two raccoons last night. Always fills me with joy.

Studied. You know the drill.

I started actively doing research on my upcoming trip to the desert in August. Burning Man is considered the largest installation of modern art on the planet.

I’ll be part of this camp. I’ll do entertaining things!

Had a great talk with my buddy Anthony about it.

As well as my new friend Rob Gould.

Played some Black Ops 4.
