Tim A. Cummins @ 10:57 pm

I studied Spanish and did my brain training.

Beautiful day. Did sprinkle at my house.

Grand girls came over. We went to the library park to have some fun.

I did a stir fry with green beans and orange sauce.

Lemon squares.

I’m learning Psalms 136.

Transported a squirrel.

Tiny bit of rainbow.

I’m learning how to dry orchid flowers. Apparently, it’s done with silica beads.

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery. “Help More.”

Grandgirls! Doggie Park! Camping! 6.17-18.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 4:44 pm

I studied Spanish and did my brain training.

Grand girls came over Wednesday morning.

We took them to the dog park to play. It just opened up two days ago.

Penelope helped me vacuum.

We had a great night camping last night. They each got to take a few things into the tent. I asked Everly, “You really need that guitar?” To which she replied, “Pop Pop I need to jam!’

We made a campfire and roasted some marshmallows and have s’more‘s. That was a huge hit.

I tried to teach them about making a teepee with the sticks to get more air into it.

It was the first night ever for them to spend the night outside. Was a little scary for them since it was pretty dark, but they overcame it. I left a headlight on so it wasn’t so scary.

It got down into the fifties last night. We had enough cover to make it all work but I was surprised by how cool it got.

Thursday morning we got up with the crows waking us up. Ashley and Miles came to get the girls around 10 AM.

Ordered groceries.

I took all the tent stuff down and put it up. Didn’t sleep much last night so enjoyed resting today.

Watering my grass seed.

Fixed a door knob.

Tried to do my Spanish study today but Duolingo wasn’t working.

Yardwork! Grandgirls! Tent! 6.16.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:18 pm

Over the past few days I’ve continued my study of Spanish and doing my brain training. I

Watered my plants.

I’ve gone to Walmart to pick up groceries brought them home and got them cleaned off.

I’m looking forward to using this device. It’s called a portable chain saw.

I want to trim branches in my yard. Especially the ones over my roof.

I’ve enjoyed working with the grand girls this week.

I made a big start on transplanting some monkey grass from the backyard to the front yard.

Transported a squirrel.

I’ll do some grass seed with that as well.

I got a tent and air mattress to start camping with the little girls. Will practice in my backyard a few times before we do anything extraordinary. It’s always fun to teach them new things.

We picked up kindling for our campfire tomorrow night.

Always great fun.

Deposited checks.

My newest project. Growing grass.

Zoom! Pruning! Camping! 6.13.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 12:39 am

We had a good session on zoom this morning with a missions group in Texas.

Ashley did a great job.

Beautiful day today.

Got good news!

Worked outside pruning bushes.

I’m getting into a bonsai look where I’m pruning the bushes to look more like trees with long trunks and then a canopy. It’s an interesting I think Asian look.

It’s a lot of work to get the roots out. Over time, it gets better and better.

You have to have the basics.

My new favorite tool: small sitting stool.

I’m preparing to transplant monkey grass from my back yard to my front yard. It’s the only type of grass that seems to like the shade.

Studied Spanish and did my brain training this evening.

Worked on getting some basic camping supplies together. Tent, air mattress, tarp, cooking stove, usual suspects.

When I was younger, I used to sleep outside in a tent for weeks on end.

I’m looking forward to introducing the grand girls to the camping experience.

Bike! Clouds! 6.12.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:02 pm

Been studying tree climbing recently. I’m interested in trimming some of the branches off some of my trees. Not real high up off the ground. Curious to see how hard that would be.

Studied Spanish and did my brain training.

Had a great talk with my buddy Anthony in the UK and Dash here in the USA. I

It was a beautiful day today.

I rode my bike 15.45 miles.

I always like going right at dusk. The light through the clouds was absolutely gorgeous.

I like the contrast and the bright colors.

Lawn Mowing! Azalea Trimming! 6.11.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:43 pm

Studied Spanish and did my brain training.

Beautiful day today. Much less humidity.

In centigrade.

Also studied Hebrew letters.

I got a call as a character reference for a friend of mine so he could get some housing.

Mowed the lawn. Massive job.

Put up some new windmills near the front of my house.

Trimmed small limbs coming from the bottom of the tree.

Trimmed the azaleas way back.

I thought these roots were interesting.

I’m looking at transplanting monkey grass to the front of my yard.

Cleared some rocks away from my fence.

Picked up groceries today.

Cleaned them off and brought them inside.

I also saw site for COVID-19 testing. That’s the first I’ve seen that.

More in depth look at my garden.

41 different kinds of cacti

16 orchids

5 variants of Venus Fly Traps
2 different Nepenthese pitcher plants
2 cobra pitcher plants
3 different variants of sundews

5 variants of African violets.

Enjoying Horizon Zero Dawn.

Yard Work! Groceries! Thunderstorms! 6.9.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:30 pm

I studied Spanish and did my brain training.

Cleaned out the bird baths.

Mowed half of my backyard.

Picked up a lot of branches on the ground.

I could see some of them were already being eaten by the mycelium.

I put them in my pit with the other lumber.

After I finished mowing, I restapled the tarp covering a small section of my roof. It’s not leaking, but the wood is soft so I’m protecting it from further damage until I get the roof repair guys over.

Went to Walmart to pick up my groceries.

Cleaned them all up before I brought them inside the house.

Powerful thunderstorms went through the ATL today.

I got a bag of dog food to feed the raccoons.

Threw some out in front of the red light so I can watch them. The raccoons and possums cannot see that spectrum of light. So it’s easy to see them but they think they’re standing in the dark.

Released an episode of Verbal Surgery called “Just Let Go 2.” An excellent edition.

Also released a squirrel today.

Jon! Bank! Bike! 6.8.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:38 pm

I studied Spanish and did my brain training.

Had a good talk with my friend Jon. He lost his wife one year ago yesterday. It was a very sad time for us all.

Went into Chamblee to check on the mail. Watered my tree while I was at the office.

Went to the bank to deposit checks.

That’s always good!

Went to Walmart to pick up my groceries but somehow there was a problem with the app. I made a re-order to get them tomorrow. The technology doesn’t always work.

Came home to ride my bike 13.29 miles. Beautiful clouds today.

I’m enjoying playing Horizon Zero Dawn.

Watered my plants. I love my green friends.

Rumi! Yard Work! Horizon Zero Dawn!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:31 pm

Studied Spanish and did my brain training.

Interesting study on Rumi a 13th century philosopher.

I’m starting to memorize one of his poems.

I keep a list of the poems I know.

Did a lot of yard work today. Started by picking out all the poison ivy I could find.

Later, I mowed the yard and made sure I shred that completely. It’s best to try to pull it up as much by the roots as possible. I’ve been doing this for years! I pretty much got it all cleaned out and then it’ll start going back here there.

Also edged the yard and cleaned up with the blower.

I still have two more days of yard work to do. I was absolutely soaked with sweat when I was finished.

I’ve been enjoying Horizon Zero Dawn. The art and the graphics are incredible.
