Grandgirls! Bank! Bike! 7.20.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:54 pm

Studied Spanish and did my brain training.

I went outside and found the raccoon had gotten into my trashcan again. I had a clear thought of needing a bungee cord in order to tie that lid down.

Grand girls came over. Had a great time with them. They helped me clean out the bird baths. Filled them up.

Then helped me clean out all the hummingbird feeders, stir up the sugar water, refill those and put them up.

We cleaned out my small shrine for St. Francis.

Another super hot day today.

Filled out a form for the North American Mission Board.

Did my squirrel taxi job again today.

Rode my bike 15.27 miles. May have been my fastest route ever.

While on my bike ride, I found the exact thing I was looking for to close that trashcan lid up. That’s what I call a “direct hit.” That when I think of something very clearly and then find it in a random place. Last time I had something like that happen was when I was thinking about foam to fill in the oak tree in my backyard. I also found that on the side of the road.

Fantastic clouds today.

Also saw some type of hawk during my ride. It wasn’t one that I easily recognized.

I used that cord to tie up the trashcan.Perfect fit! That sort of stuff happens to me all the time. It’s related to the “dirty money game.”

Listened to Harry Potter while I rode my bike.

This evening I went out to Stone Mountain to see the Neo Wise comet. I did see it, but it was very dim. I had my good binoculars with me. I’ve seen three major comets over the last few decades. Includes Haley’s comet, Hale-Bopp, and Kohutek. They were all pretty much non-events. I did a lot of research to figure out where to look for them but otherwise they were pretty much not worth the time except that’s just one of the things I do! It was still great to be out there on that Mountain, totally dark, by myself. The rock was still hot even though it was a couple of hours after sunset.

Kathy got a new job today. I’m proud of her effort. It will mean handling the grandgirls by myself. I do enjoy their company so much.

Anthony! Podcast! Bike! 7.19.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:09 pm

Here are the best instructions I’ve found to see the comet Neowise this week. It should be your best chance on the 23rd. That is if it’s clear then.

I did my brain training and studied Spanish.

Had a great talk with my buddy Anthony today. It always helps me clarify my thinking when I’ve had a chat with him.

Another hot day. Felt like 100°. That’s 38°C.

Transported a squirrel. Guess I’m a squirrel taxi.

Recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery. Always fun.

I listened to radio from Madrid while I drove around.

Picked up groceries from Walmart. Next week starts mandatory wearing of mask to go into the store. I think that’s a great idea! I’m still sticking to curbside pick up.

I got an email from a new friend in Italy. It was great to hear from him.

I rode my bike 13.20 miles. My Runkeeper app has been acting wonky lately. Don’t know why.

I thought this little flower growing out of the asphalt was cool.

Beautiful clouds again this evening. Marvelous night for a bike ride.

Podcast! John Lewis! Bike! 7.18.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:06 pm

Studied Spanish and did my brain training.

Enjoyed a fun chat with my buddy Rob Chapman in the UK.

Released an episode of Verbal Surgery called “Lil Flower.” It’ll help you get going so check it out and feel good, NOW!

It was a hot day here in the ATL. Felt like 100°. That’s 38°C for my European friends.

I transported three squirrels today. That’s a record.

I ordered groceries from Walmart. I’ll pick those up tomorrow.

Sad day for us here in the ATL, as our resident John Lewis passed away. He was a great humanitarian and civil rights leader.

Rode my bike 15.21 miles. Listened to radio from Madrid that whole hour and 30 minutes.

I thought the bark on this tree was super cool looking as was this unusual mushroom.

Beautiful clouds, too.

Recorded an episode of Verbal Surgery this afternoon called “Here We Go.” I’ll release that next week.

Roomba! Raccoon! Grandgirls! Bike! 7.17.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:40 pm

Last night, I worked on my Roomba. I changed the battery, replaced the whisk, the rollers and the filter, and gave it a thorough cleaning. It’s working again!

This morning, I studied Spanish and did my brain training.

I went outside and for the third day I found my trashcan lid on the ground. The raccoon has figured out where the food is and has been able to do a handstand to pry that lid off. It’s tight so it was pretty surprising to me.

I put a big rock on it this evening. It’s gonna be a little test for him now, I reckon.

Enjoyed having the grand girls today. I’m trying to spend more time in education mode which is what I prefer. I got several games and puzzles for them to put together.

They’re both extremely bright. I’m looking forward to working with them more on that.

Hot day here in the ATL.

Rode my bike 15.22 miles this evening. It still felt like 99°.

I put a new bottle holder on Kathy’s bike. I’m using hers while mine is getting tweaked up.

On my ride this evening, the seat started to swivel. That’s never good.

I’ll keep a tool in my bike bag from now on.

I transported squirrel number 132 today. I pretty much take one every day. It never ends but it does keep the population lower which is what I want.

While riding my bike, I went through all the scripture and poetry that I’ve memorized.

Powerful clouds this evening.

Grandgirls! Bike! 7.16.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:10 pm

I studied Spanish and did my brain training.

Enjoyed having the girls with me today.

We took them to the park and then let them splash around in my little blue pool.

Spent time working on Penelope‘s hair. It’s a calming thing to do that.

This is all that’s left from the mushrooms growing yesterday.

Still concerned about the Ministry’s finances. One day at a time.

Rode my bike 15.21 miles. Beautiful clouds. That exercise for an hour and a half really helps me blow off stress. I always feel better after I’ve completed it.

Had a good talk with my treasurer Jon Paul as well as a chat with my friend Rebecca in Georgetown about our financial situation.

Grandgirls! Bike! Bank! Podcast! 7.15.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:33 pm

I woke up this morning and saw a message from my buddy Anthony. He included a song for me to listen to. Hauntingly beautiful.

I watched a couple of Wired videos of artists that I found absolutely amazing.

I contacted my buddies at Aztec Bike to make sure that they were working on my bicycle, which they were.

Did my brain training and studied Spanish this morning.

Had a good time with the grand girls. They’re so much fun.

Hot today at the park.

I deposited money into the bank. Our ministry is at a financially real low point right now which definitely affected my mood.

After I dropped off a squirrel, I went out to Stone Mountain to record an episode of Verbal Surgery. It’s perhaps the darkest edition I’ve ever released. But it’s a good view into what I’m going through right now. It definitely helped me feel better.

I rode my bike 13.32 miles today. I got a late start and didn’t want to get caught out in the dark so I didn’t finish my whole 15 miles plus.

Went through all of my poetry on the bike. That always helps me feel better, too. I have all the poems I know written on four notecards. Makes sure I don’t forget one of them.

Beautiful clouds today.

I released the episode of Verbal Surgery that I recorded this afternoon called Verbal Surgery -776- “Death Test.” It’s dark, but it’s a good view inside what I’m going through right now.

Enjoyed seeing my raccoon this evening.

Grandgirls! Insurance! Bike Flat! 7.15.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:18 pm

Did my usual discipline of studying Spanish and doing my brain training.

My granddaughter Everly got a sticker in her foot. I had to get the needle and dig it out. She was pretty brave overall!

Paid bills.

Enjoyed having the girls around.

While I was swinging them, I got a call from my Mom that her Facebook account had been hacked. So I had to help her reset that.

I’m sure you know, but just in case, if you ever get a friend request from somebody you’re sure you’re already friends with that is a hack on their account. It’s very important that you let the person know that made the request.

Got the groceries and cleaned them up. I think it was a record today. Left my house, went to Walmart, they put all my groceries in my car and I got back home in almost exactly fifteen minutes! I’ll never go back to pushing a cart through the store again. And the service is FREE if I buy more than $35 of food!

Released another squirrel.

Ashley and I spent time working on the insurance for the ministry.

Beautiful set of mushrooms sprouting today.

I did a whole podcast about this orchid. Its little flower is as big as its leaves!

Warm day!

I went for a 7.35 mile bike ride.

My tire went flat.

I hid it behind some trash cans while I went to get my car and the bike rack. I was glad Kathy saw my cry for help and came to get me. That would’ve been a long walk pushing a bike!

I took it over to my bike guys. Hopefully, they can start working on it tomorrow.

I had several other items that need to be adjusted or replaced besides just the flat.

Listened to radio from Madrid while I biked.

Beautiful clouds this evening!

Birthday! Grandgirls! Roof! Bike! 7.12-13.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:34 pm

I liked this website called WindowSwap.

I studied Spanish did my brain training the last two days.

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery “The Art of Forgetting.”

Had fun on my birthday. Had an ice cream birthday cake.

Got groceries cleaned them and brought them inside.

I had some peanuts to try to explain to the girls how old I was. That’s a lot of peanuts!

Took the girls to the park to have some fun.

Had a good talk with my buddy Matt Hale in Australia.

Cleaned my glass doors.

Went to Stone Mountain this morning to record Verbal Surgery.

Had a good talk with my buddy Anthony.

Released another squirrel.

Blew debris off of my roof and cleaned gutters.

Rode my bike 15.24 miles.

Listened to radio for Madrid. Went through all the poetry I know. It’s about 40 poems.

Beautiful clouds tonight.

I was tired before I even got on my bike but I still did the whole route.

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:08 pm

Studied Spanish and did my brain training.

Deposited checks.

Got some more hand sanitizer.

Picked up meds.

Did a zoom call for a conference in Brazil. It was a lot of fun.

Transported a squirrel.

Re-dug the ditch next to my garage slab. It’s been raining into where we parked our cars.

Cleaned it all out. That was some hard work. Most shovel work is!

Had to transfer everything from the garage out to the driveway.

Cleaned and refilled my hummingbird feeders and my bird baths.

Grandgirls! Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary! Bike! 7.10.20

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:12 pm

I studied Spanish and did my brain training.

I checked out all the links for my presentation on zoom on Saturday at 1 o’clock. Everything looks good to go.

I made an order for groceries for the Walmart curbside service.

Big storm yesterday produced almost exactly an inch of rain.

I had a fun day with the grand girls.

I took them to the Yellow River Wildlife Sanctuary near my house. We were careful and wore masks a lot of the time especially when we were around anyone else.

We had a good time feeding the goats.

I especially liked seeing the ringtail lemurs and the raccoons. The animals seemed well taken care of and happy.

It was a hot day.

It was nice to drink cold a Coke at the end.

I had my roofer come over and take a look at my roof today so he can give me an estimate about that.

I rode my bike 15.20 miles.

I listened to radio from Madrid as well as Harry Potter in Spanish.

Beautiful clouds.

I enjoyed seeing a bunny on the ride.
