Portuguese! Podcast! Stone Mountain! Pressure Washing! Bike!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:14 pm

Portuguese! Tudo bem! It’s all good. My ears continue to tune into the language and hear separate words at higher speeds.

Recorded a new podcast and released “Doors,” a new favorite. Check it out! Just click on the title and GROOVE!

Uploaded to my server.

Link on Facebook.

This is how I feel serving up some piping hot new Verbal Surgery!

Spent time at Stone Mountain.

Did the shopping. Had to pick up a few more supplies for the team next week.

I’m eating almost entirely fruits and vegetables. Got some new knives.

Finished stamping and stuffing the newsletters.

Dropped them off at the Post Office.

Packed up a stand for a bird feeder that was too small. Took it to the UPS store for free shipping.

I was surprised to see this bass shipped like this!

Jesse and I worked on pressure washing our drive way. We are experimenting with different methods to see which is fastest and works best. We used Simple Green today which I thought was pretty useless.

I did it for about an hour with J.

Went for a 6.83 mile bike ride before it got dark.

I liked these paintings at Evergreen. They reminded me of neurons and dendrites.

Beauty!

Podcast! Set up! Bike!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:43 pm

Studied Portuguese this morning. 41 days straight. Go, brain!

Last of my big pine tree was ground up.

The grinder was a robot that was remote controlled. Cool.

Recorded a new podcast.

This one will be released in July. New Verbal Surgery tomorrow!

A new spot for recording due to the kids being out of school. I usually park the Mobile Studio near the swimming pool at Evergreen Lakes. Place was packed on the First Day of Summer!

Ashley and I talked to managers about teams coming next week.

Ashley cracks me up!

The meetings went great! Fantastic to see people look forward to us being there!

Tiling is finished at Azalea. Looking good!

I set up the set for the teams on Saturday and next week. Ashley got all the supplies we need. She did a fantastic job figuring all that out and getting it organized!

Before.

After.

Came home late.

Rode 4.89 miles. I was actually cold. Wow. Cut my ride short because it was getting dark.

My 25th sighting of the International Space Station this evening! Terrific viewing!

The ISS is 249 miles high, travels at 17,500 mph, has been in space for over 16 years and is the single most expensive object built by mankind at a price tag of $150 Billion!

Flowers are so beautiful!

Portuguese! Newsletters! Ads! Bike!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:03 pm

Had fun studying Portuguese jobs this morning.

Recorded two episodes of Verbal Surgery that will be released in July. It’s been great to set goals and reach them!

Cleaned and refilled my hummingbird feeders.

Met up with Ashley to work on newsletters. We did almost all the labels. Penelope loves to help!

Got a notice from NASA that the ISS will pass overhead this evening. Pretty cloudy here in the ATL.

Had a meeting with a media representative about ads for businesses. Out of our price range but still very interesting. It’s the service that displays those little cards with information about what’s happening in that area.

Ashley and I moved my Ficus outside. It hasn’t been doing well. Shedding a lot of leaves.

We visited apartment complexes to tell them about the teams coming. Awesome!

Went to the bank to deposit money.

Got stamps for newsletters.

Biked 11.02 miles tonight.

Beautiful at the lake where I record Verbal Surgery.

I saw the song “Evie” on a playlist tonight on Apple Music. It’s the new baby’s name!

Incredible sky this evening.

3,000! Portuguese! Penelope! Mission! ISS!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:50 pm

WordPress just informed me that this week I released my 3,000th post! I have been consistently blogging since 2004. I have a nearly daily record of 25% of my life. And I’m 58!

Rained nearly 3/4″ yesterday.

I studied Portuguese this morning. Slow and steady!

I watched Penelope while Ashley and Kerri went to Stone Mountain to work out.

Always a blessing! She loves bubbles. Wonder where she gets that from?!

Did the shopping.

Jesse and I worked at the mission to get the stuff out of the two back rooms so Mr. Chin could get the new tile in.

LOT of work! We are getting rid of stuff that doesn’t work and was just taking up space.

I sure did appreciate Jesse’s help.

I like the new tile. We moved tables and put the stuff into the front room.

Biked 11.08 miles.

Released a new edition of Verbal Surgery! Do you find learning new things a challenge? Then you need Verbal Surgery -456- “DiffEASY!”

Just click on the title and GROOVE!

Uploaded to my server.

I spotted the International Space Station for the 24th time tonight! It’s great to get back on schedule. For some reason, I dropped off of NASA’s list and didn’t receive notices when I could see it. Beautifully bright this evening at 9:17pm.

I wonder what you have to do to be an eye patch model?

Podcasts! Rain! Newsletter! Labels!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:29 pm

I woke up and studied to keep my daily streak going!

Duolingo tracks when you need to review. It shows more or less strength bars. Interesting methodology.

This morning I recorded TWO new podcasts!

I love to hear myself talk. Yeah, baby!

These will be released in a couple of weeks. I’m on target for having 10-12 “in the can” for release during June and July.

I will release one new one Tuesday and Friday. Then probably only on Fridays during the Summer.

Rainy day today. I recorded in my car in the garage.

I wrote and produced my newsletter.

Spent some extra time studying Portuguese.

No exercise because of the rain. Can’t ride a bike when it’s wet!

Printed up the labels.

Talked with Jesse about getting stuff out of the mission for the team coming to live there for a week. They are currently taking out the carpet and putting down tile. That’ll be a LOT cleaner!

Admin duties now.

Portuguese! FBC Doraville! Pressure Washing! Bike!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:34 pm

Rained over 3.5″ yesterday and this morning. Wow!

Studied Portuguese this morning. Working on the conversations.

And verb forms.

Also read some of the “How Emotions are Made” book. Excellent.

Kathy and I met up with Ashley and Penelope at FBC Doraville for their missions fair and joint worship service.

Fun crowd!

I watched Penelope for the last part of the service.

Enjoyed speaking Spanish with friends from El Calvario church.

Came home to rest.

Studied some more Portuguese.

This coming week we won’t be having the mission. Nothing going on. So I’ll focus on studying and recording. Ashley and I also have a meeting with the group that distributes the flyers for tourists at hotels to see about generating more cash flow for our families.

Taught Jesse how to use the pressure washer. We went to Lowes to get a part that we couldn’t find.

Went for an 11.02 mile bike ride. Felt good.

Enjoyed good conversation with Jesse while I cooked my supper. I cut up squash and microwaved it. Yum. Also bought some frozen chicken strips that I heat up and put with my salad. Little more protein is good for me.

Podcast! Portuguese! Penelope!

Tim A. Cummins @ 1:26 pm

I start out every morning with prayer.

And Portuguese!

Great Friday morning: RECORDING! Astonishing how much I love to hear myself talk!

I transferred the files from my Sony PCM-M10 recorder to my computer. And release Verbal Surgery -455- “Minimum Underdrive!” Simple ideas. Continual progress. MASSIVE RESULTS! Just click on the title and GROOVE!.

I listen to this while I’m in the car. I’m practicing producing the sound of the language. I’ve found I have to smile and work my lips more in order to get the correct intonation.

I’ve been reading “Emotions: the Secret Life of the Brain” by Lisa Barrett. Here’s a screen shot.

Ashley brought Penelope over around 2pm. We kept her over night. Always a blessing!

When she rests, I study.

On Safari!

We took her for some country cooking at M&J!

Went to the park to let her explore all the climbing stuff. We go at night when it’s cooler.

She slept pretty well. I let her take too long a nap (About three hours!). She woke up at 2am and stayed up till about 4:30am. I’m firm with her about going back to sleep, but she can really get upset. If I give in at that point, I’ve just taught her to keep doing it. We watched some King Julien on Netflix. I found out that it can do Brazilian Portuguese subtitles which also helps me learn.

We got up around 8:30am. Kathy watched her while I went back to bed. Feel great after another couple of hours of rest. Thanks, K!

Catching up on my admin duties now.

Podcast! Matthew! Mission! Bike!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:59 pm

Woke up and studied Portuguese. Learn, baby, Learn!

Continued my goal of daily recording! Love this episode of Verbal Surgery called “IN Joy.” Released soon! I love where I record. Beauty!

Had a very powerful discussion and prayer time with my friend Matthew Haley. He is facing amputation of his foot.

Went to Walmart to pick up supplies. Fresh corn was .25 a piece. Sweet old lady told me to “wrap it in a dishtowel unshucked and cook for 3 minutes.” Man, was she right. Delicious!

Healthy and cheap.

I thought this looked cool!

Went to FBC Doraville to set up our exhibit for the missions fair there this Sunday.

Then to the mission. Some of the kids helped my move the tables and chairs out of the front room. We plan on redoing the flooring there.

Actually went to Walmart twice today, although one in Stone Mountain and the other in Chamblee. Picked up a few things for Jesse.

Been listening to this while on the road. It’s been very good, but not very long.

Went for a 10.88 mile bike ride. I keep developing new routes. Love my bike! It’s about ten years old now. Much higher quality than you can buy now.

I forgot to turn Runkeeper back on during one of my water breaks. I actually went 2.02 miles farther than it says.

Sunset was beautiful.

This was weird to me.

And so was this.

Podcast! Stone Mountain! Mission! Bike!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:07 pm

First thing I do is study Portuguese. Get that out of the way. I spend at least 10 minutes a day.

This morning I recorded a new podcast! Anther one in the vault for later!

This one is called “The Call of Beauty.”

Went to Stone Mountain to check on advertising options.

Ashley and I are thinking about leading tours in the International Village for secular people to in order to raise more funds. We are creating a brochure to put in those racks you see at hotels.

Went through the process of figuring out more of Kathy’s medical bills.

Takes forever to get straight answers on this stuff. The people who handle her CPAP machine suggested I, “Call Blue Cross Blue Shield and ask them about this.”

I just laughed. I tried that last year was on the phone for HOURS and would suddenly get disconnected. HORRIBLE customer service.

Finished the job of running the ethernet cable at my house. I had to get a splitter and 10 foot length of cord to hook everything up.

I am FINALLY getting the speeds I’ve been paying for. So that’s good. I cut my Comcast service way back.

Under unusual stress. Whirlwind has about $2,000 in the bank currently That’s really scary and just puts a dark cloud over me. Sucks. We are looking for ways to cut back. It’s always healthy to really look at what we absolutely have to have. Still sad when we have to close down missions because of lack of support or no volunteers.

Picked up Ashley and Penelope and worked at the mission. This may be our last week. Kids just hardly have any homework.

The girls are SO beautiful!

Can’t wait to meet Evie! Ashley is in fantastic shape. She has really watched her sugar and been exercising a lot.

I’ve almost lost 20 pounds. I eat salad, fruit and exercise every day. Feel a lot better and helps to eliminate stress and discouragement which I’ve had a lot of lately.

Looking forward to the Summer!

Got home and rode my bike 10.44 miles.

She’s been the best bike I’ve ever owned. Had her over 10 years now. She’s never been ridden like this before!

Loved the art at Evergreen Hotel where I went this morning.

The clouds were fantastic.

Podcast! Bennett! Mission! Bike!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:42 pm

Studied Portuguese with Duolingo’s bots.

Recorded a new podcast this morning, continuing my goal with a daily show to save for the Summer. It may be the most powerful edition I’ve ever recorded called “Doors.” Will release next week.

I published Verbal Surgery -454- “Live Live.” A terrific show on living in the present rather than focusing on the past/future. Just click on the title and GROOVE!

Uploaded to server.

Link on Facebook.

Went to Ashley’s house to pick her and Penelope up for lunch with our partner Bennett Eckandem.

We talked about what was going on in Clarkston and how we should approach our relationship with NAMB about it. Not easy to bring up negative facts. As my wife said, “They don’t want to hear it.” It regards another ministry that is working at the church.

Did the shopping at Walmart. I’m eating mostly fruit and salad, so I have to get fresh stuff every couple of days.

Also got a new bulb for her wax tart warmer.

Went with Ashley to work at the mission with the kids.

Had a great talk with the new manager of Azalea.

Helped one of the Bengali young men to do his Spanish homework. I’m still WAY better at Spanish than Portuguese, but I’m making progress!

Came home to ride 6.55 miles on my bike. Super hard route. It’s great to see physical progress, too.

I have to dry out my sweaty helmet.

I ate my fruit and salad and watched CNN. Unbelievable what Trump has done. Firing Comey is going to come back to haunt him.

I found my mysteriously disappearing hat/flashlight. When I took it off after running the wires, I put it straight back in my suitcase. Exactly where it should have been. The Father gave me a picture of where it was while I was praying this morning.

I’ve been waking up at 4:30am and usually pray at least an hour or more. Nearly two hours this morning.

I’ve wondered why I haven’t had Spot the Station alerts. Apparently, NASA had sent me an email asking me to reconfirm that I wanted to get notified. Back on target!

Admin duties now.

Poster on the wall at Al Madina.

Crazy Oreo marketing.
