Español! Walk! Azalea! 8.9.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:21 pm

Just keep walking.

OYB!

Español!

Walked 5.70 miles this morning. That included walking up and down this hill twenty times. A new record for me.

Still working on getting the life insurance policy completely squared away.

That goes for the Home insurance policy as well.

Kathy and I ate lunch at Piccadilly. We brought the girls cherry pie and cake.

Called my dentist’s office today. I go in tomorrow morning at 10:00 AM to get my implant done. She told me then I will have to wait another four months and then get the crown put on.

Third day for the kids to be back in school. They already had a lot of homework.

Heard back from my life insurance guy. He seems to think everything is in order. I still asked him to check it for me.

After the work I did today, I’m pretty much guaranteed to be in the top three. Probably #2. Holger has a track record of making up a lot of points fast.

Walk! Bike! Español! Bank! Azalea! 8.8.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:12 pm

Super powerful!

Worked hard last month.

OYB!

Español!

Walked 3.96 miles this morning. Went up my hill eleven times. I didn’t take a picture including the eleventh stick!

Gassed up my car and added some oil. I need to get an oil change soon.

Added more oil to my quart bottle that I keep in the car.

Final touches on getting the house insurance changed over.

Got rained out from picking up the groceries last night. Got them this morning.

Dropped off my Walmart bags to be recycled.

Rode my bike 6.63 miles. I would have gone a lot farther, but I needed to get to the mission on time for the girls.

Checked the mail at my office.

Picked up some supplies for the kids at the mission.

I checked on my Mint Mobile account to make sure the whole family was on board and activated properly.

Picked up the girls at the bus. Took them to Taco Veloz to get something to eat. They’d never tried horchata before. They were not impressed.

Penelope ate great. Everly pretty well.

Met the middle school kids. Had the ice cream party with them. They loved the attention and the goodies. No one has homework yet.

Listened to Don Cheto an the way home.

I picked up my groceries the morning. They had a video game included in my order. I took it back to Walmart. I figure someone was really disappointed that it wasn’t in their order!

Went to the bank to deposit checks. Thank you, Lord!

Just keep pushing. I’ll probably come in #2 this week.

Walk! Azalea! First Day of School! Popsicle Party! 8.7.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:08 pm

And it’s not easy.

Came in #3 this last week, as expected. Duolingo is now forcing us to create an avatar rather than use a photo. Not crazy about that. Kinda stupid looking.

Prayed for a cousin of mine who is having some health challenges.

Chatted with my mentor Fred Sorrells this morning. He’s in Australia for the women’s World Cup. I give him advice on shooting video.

OYB!

Español!

Walked 3.76 miles this morning. Climbed “my hill” ten times.

Ordered groceries.

Had a good talk with Andrew Toney this morning about bringing a team to work with Whirlwind. I was pretty wound up about it. Passionate about our area!

My roses are blooming. Amen.

My banana plants are really growing! Makes me so happy. Reminds me of home.

Listened to Don Cheto. Only way to improve is to keep trying to understand faster and faster.

Very hot and huge thunderstorms late this afternoon. Wow!

Went to Walmart to pick up the popsicles for the Back to School party.

Helped the kids with their homework until the massive storm blew in and soaked everything! It was like a hurricane!

What a storm!

On the way home, I saw where a big tree limb had knocked down a power line. That resulted in all the traffic lights being turned off. Turned traffic into a nightmare.

It was still raining hard when I got home. Called Walmart to let them know I’d pick up my groceries tomorrow morning.

Not sure yet how hard Holger will work. He’s got a very strong track record. I don’t think I’ll have a problem staying in the top three.

Walk! Bike! Guardians! 8.6.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:56 pm

When I was waiting to pick up pizzas a few weeks ago, a guy came over to my car and gave me a ticket. It was for the megamillions lottery. It’s now at $1.5 BILLION that’s the highest in history. It’d be crazy if I won that, right? I’m already living my dream life, thanks to people like YOU!

I enjoyed watching the last of the trilogy today. I thought it was good. But my favorite will always be the first one.

OYB!

I liked this verse in particular.

I worked with my carnivorous plants today. I took out a lot of the extra moss growing in the containers.

Español!

I changed my regular alarm from 5:45 AM which was my Summer wake up call to 7:35 AM which I will consider my normal get up time. That should help me get exercise before it gets too hot.

I was in contact with my buddy Ben Birdsong today. He’ll be sending me a check for the team from this weekend.

Walked 2.53 miles in my neighborhood.

Went home asap to miss the thunderstorms.

Prepped my bike.

Rode my bike 15.11 miles. I exercised hard today for nearly three hours.

Got sprinkled on a bit but made it home before the big rains hit. I love my radar app. It’s the powerful one that the news stations use.

Listened to Don Cheto to practice Spanish comprehension. They interviewed a doctor today. I got nearly 100% of what she said.

Jessi has really been enjoying her hearing aid. It’s state of the art! Got her some new batteries today.

As I expected, I’ll come in #3 this week. I learned a lot. That’s the most important thing!

Christ Church to BAPS Temple, Global Mall & Azalea Place 8.5.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:43 pm

Just keep going!

OYB!

Español!

Full Sun Moon.

Walked 1.71 miles this morning before going to Doraville to set up The Show.

Tracking my data usage.

I had a great time with my team from Christ Church in Birmingham, AL today! After I gave them my briefing on Hinduism, we went on Safari to the BAPS temple in Lawrenceville.

Then to Global Mall to see the Ganesha Temple.

Went to Azalea to hang out with the kids. GREAT to have Ashley around to greet the team!

It was hot. But surprisingly cool in the shade!

The smiles made it all worthwhile!

She did a great job with the story of Esther.

Listened to Don Cheto on the way home.

Virginia Cosgrove told me there were some school supplies I could use if I needed them. I got the backpacks, some pencils, notebooks and scissors. I left most of the other stuff for the other ministries. I talked to the kids about the supplies, most of them said they had everything they needed, which is what I assumed. I focus on giving them supplies all year long. That’s when they really need stuff.

Worked on Spanish briefly this evening. No one’s is catching me and I’m not catching the top two.

Spent time editing the video I shot this afternoon and getting all the pictures into the team gallery. I’ll send the final thank you email soon. That includes all the pictures and the video link.

Last Day of Summer! PE! Downtown! Village Park! 8.4.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:17 pm

Today is the last day for the Pop Pop Summer School. The girls will start Kindergarten and Second Grade on Monday. Wow. We had a wonderful time together. We studied in class every day, learned something, exercised and had a lot of fun.

I believe in this.

Still working on the life insurance forms. See the little number of the form at the bottom left corner? That got cut off, so I had to rescan all the three documents and the Drivers License again. Ay, caramba.

OYB!

Rainy morning. Didn’t last long. It was dry in Chamblee.

Interesting.

Español!

Cloudy morning. I liked the sunrise color in this cloud.

Walked 2.68 miles in Chamblee. My last walk there for a while. Maybe until next Summer! My walk here at home is WAY harder. Chamblee is basically flat.

Beauty.

Love my girls!

Class!

Everly was really sad because she couldn’t find her plushie “Vanilla.” We scoured the house for her. I finally found her in the bathroom on the sink! We dried her off with paper towels and the hair drier and Everly was all smiles again.

I dried out all the paper towels so they could be used again. I do a similar strategy with the paper towels I use when I wash my hands at restaurants. I use them to clean my hands during the meal. If there are some left over, I put them in my car to use to check the oil.

Then the hair drier. She was her usual fluffy self soon after. Do what you gotta do to keep the children smiling.

You can tell she had been pretty upset.

We set a timer for fifteen minutes. They seemed to react well to that. Lot easier than “get these two pages done.” Never really know how long that might take. We studied about an hour a week doing workbook stuff.

We headed to the MARTA station next to ride the train downtown. She was her normal happy self then.

They really are my favorite people.

Our goal was Metro Diner near Peachtree Center downtown ATL for breakfast/lunch.

I enjoy taking them on Safari. There is always a lot of stuff to see and learn about.

Up the big escalator.

Groovy!

Fun while we waited for our food.

This was our special treat.

We had fun at the Atlanta Marketplace. It’s a huge wholesale mall of top end stuff. You have to have a retail business license to shop there. Didn’t stop us from hanging out!

Nice doggy.

Capital Club.

We liked this.

Groovy.

After our sight seeing, we headed back down the escalator to the trains and to Chamblee.

We ate more of our cake when we got home.

I talked to Tim Deter about that life insurance form. I got it squared away when I got home late this afternoon.

After a thirty minute rest, we went back out to go to the Village Park.

If I have some downtime, I work on Spanish.

I watered my Pink Magnolia tree. She seems like she’s getting over her mildew illness. Little trees are fragile.

Listened to Don Cheto on the way home.

Kathy is taking this. I just did some research on other savings programs.

Stopped by Walmart to pick up bananas and apples. Stupid Walmart app won’t let me get bananas. And they rarely pick the best apples.

Just keep going. Hard to get super motivated to push myself when I’m so far ahead and behind.

Still working on the education course. I’ll get back to it after I finish the blog.

Walk! PE! Shoes! Evergreen! Playground! 8.3.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:46 pm

I found this interesting. I’ve been super happy with my iPhone 11 Pro Max.

OYB!

Cool this morning. Tomorrow will be my last day to get up at 5:45 AM. It’s been pretty easy over all.

Español!

Full Sun Moon.

Walked 2.65 miles.

Love my girls!

The girls love their new backpacks!

Class!

Taco Veloz for Huevos Rancheros.

Target to look for school supplies and shoes. Didn’t find anything there Penelope wanted.

She found some shoes she liked at Shoe Carnival. They are really cute.

Found a pencil pouch she liked at Michaels.

Then to Evergreen for a swim. We stopped briefly to get some Lemon Squares and then drove around the Stone Mountain Cemetery while we ate them.

Stone Mountain Park for some exercise.

To my office to check the mail.

Listened to Don Cheto on the way home. Just keep listening to Spanish!

I was going to ride my bike but big thunderstorms in the area stopped that plan.

Mileage log.

Deposited checks.

Folded and hung up my clothes.

Working on education courses for K.

Confirmed my top three status. We will finish up in this order in three days is my guess. Too big a gap between us and below us.

Walk! Insurance! Plants! Podcast! 8.2.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:54 pm

Ordered a couple of items. Chapstick and cough drops. Don’t leave home without them!

OYB!

Español!

Went for a walk. Did my big hill fifteen times. Then walked the long way home. Whoosh.

Total of 5.40 miles.

I scanned some life insurance forms again and sent them to my agent, Tim Deter.

I have all four of my cell phone lines transferred to Mint Mobile now. Made sure that ATT had me canceled out. Their prices were outrageous. I need to rethink my internet and tv stuff. Xfinity is also crazy talk.

Set up insurance for my cell phone with Allstate.

Talked with my buddy Ben Birdsong today. He’s bringing a team to work with us on Saturday. Getting the final details finalized.

Continuing to work on the course for Kathy. I try to do the lessons that I’ll get some good out of. Vocabulary building now. I think of it in terms of what I’m doing in Spanish as well.

Cleaned my hat.

Helped a friend of the family get in touch with my Mom.

Gassed up my car and checked the levels.

Paid bills.

Another sweaty day, but not as hot.

Watered my plants.

Went to Stone Mountain to record “The Unplanned Life.” Excellent.

Released Verbal Surgery -1026- “Borrowed Time.” So good!

Walk! PE! Class! Pool! Bike! 8.1.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:09 pm

OYB!

Got to the mission. Studied and walked. Beauty all around me.

Very pleasant.

Walked 2.68 miles.

Love my girls!

Class!

The “birthday” Waffle House. The girls reminded me this is where we went for breakfast on my birthday when I turned 65. We then went to the Museum of Illusions. That was a fun day. Complete with ice cream cake!

Men were repairing a pane of glass.

The girls and I took all the stuff I need for the team on Saturday to my office. I’ll have the group in the conference room next door. I usually do The Show downstairs in the Fellowship Hall at the church where my storage room is. My office is on the ground floor.

Is it?

The girls and I went to the Doraville pool for a swim. We had the place to ourselves. Fabulous. Everly swam the entire length of the pool. It’s huge! Penelope did about 75% of it which was amazing.

Got hot.

Listened to Don Cheto in Spanish.

Drying out the pool stuff.

Still working on the early education course for K.

The very last section of my bike ride. I rode for an hour and eleven minutes. About 10 miles or so. I forgot to turn on Runkeeper when I left the house.

PE! Stone Mountain! Evergreen! Newsletters! 7.31.23

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:25 pm

Came in the Top 3 in the tournament this week.

This should help a lot of people.

Got to the mission early.

Español!

Fixed this on my phone.

Walked 2.64 miles this morning.

Love my girls!

Class.

We went to Goodwill then over to Stone Mountain to ride the cable car.

Tree fun.

Swimming pool!

Working out!

Came back to Doraville to get my newsletters. Got them stuffed into the envelopes. Went to the Post Office to get stamps. Put those on and got them in the mail.

Deposited checks. Amen. Thank you, Lord.

Worked on the online class for Kathy. It’s pretty hard.
