Anthony! Food Forest Namibia! Web Site! 3.14.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:44 pm

Set my alarm for 2:00 AM to check out the lunar eclipse. Wasn’t a red color when I saw it. Big clouds were moving in and I could tell that further viewing wasn’t going to work out.

OYB!

Español!

Kathy is still getting used to her phone. It’s pretty frustrating for her.

Tried to call my Mom. No luck.

Fun chat with my buddy Anthony. He was still feeling sick. I cheered him up.

Called Xfinity/Comcast to pay a bill and set up my account to auto pay. Also got another package with them. Still costs about the same but I’m supposed to be getting better internet.

I should be coming in #3 this week.

I had a hell of a time getting a pickle jar open this evening. Not much better luck opening a peanut container. Decided to get some literal leverage.

Here’s a sample of the first few pages of the website for the Food Forest Namibia.com. That was some work.

K’s New Phone! PE! 3.13.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:28 pm

Lunar eclipse early this morning around 2:00 AM. Not sure I’m that gung ho about it to get up.

This looks almost exactly like Hwy 285 around Atlanta! Except it’s not a billion light years across.

Beauty!

I ran the tracking numbers for the two packages that I sent to my tax guys. They got there safely. Amen.

OYB!

For some reason my new phone doesn’t like to be charged with a USB-C cable. Weird, but it’s a known problem. It charges fine with the Mag system. I got a Mag charger from Anker to use while I’m studying Spanish outside. It does fine with my car charger as well as the cradle charger in my office. Weird.

I decided to get a pro involved to help me with The Food Forest Namibia website. I’ve done the hard part getting all the pictures and text together. I just need him to help make the site mobile friendly. Some of the process takes too long to figure out. If you’re doing it all the time it’s super easy. Like doing this blog. Sometimes I just have no idea why it’s doing something wrong on the website.

I backed up K’s old phone last night. I had already zeroed out my old one. Today J and I transferred her old iPhone 7 Pro Max into my old iPhone 11 Pro Max. It’s a significant upgrade and that phone is less than two years old.

Español!

I love my pink magnolias.

I got the Mail app on my iPhone working. It needed access to my Gmail account.

My brother called me to let me know that my Mom was available for a chat. Turned out her phone doesn’t ring, it just flashes a red light! That’s why she hadn’t heard me calling.

Penelope wants to play the bass. Miles and I talked about one of our favorite bassists, Stanley Clarke.

I helped K pick out a new phone case.

I let Roopa know about the ticket change and later gave her some contact numbers for another friend, Cathy Palmer.

K and I took the girls to Piccadilly. The girls weren’t impressed.

Rain kept me from going to the Mission today. Hard to tell when we’ll get back inside since we’re waiting on the Chamblee code people to let the construction guys finish the job.

I didn’t see a way to do this on my TV. Supposed to make games look even better.

I liked the turtle Penelope made.

Got some new protectors for Penelope’s tablet.

Sweet ol’ Ryder with his good boy “Howdy” hat.

I was talking to Ashley about her new car (the Kia that Miles had been driving.) I told her she didn’t need to get two keys with remote control. She could use the regular car door key for her hide a key.

Just keep going.

iPhone 16 Pro Max! Nana! Chairs! PE! AZ! 3.12.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:18 pm

I received my new phone when I got home. Soon I started the unboxing.

Just followed one step after another for the most part.

I also got thefoodforestnamibia.com site up. The mobile part doesn’t look right, however. There’s always something.

Groovy, baby!

Wow. My Mom went from having her leg hurt to going to the hospital and having surgery super fast.

OYB!

My Mom is really brave.

Español!

I appreciated my brother keeping me in the loop.

I backed up Kathy’s phone. I’m getting ready to swap her number to my old phone, which is still in nearly new condition even though I’ve had it about two years.

Jessi needs a new chair in her office. I’ve been helping her research.

I talked to Bill about his donation. We are trying to get a check passed off.

I got the wrong cables. I’m sending them back.

I got updates through the day.

I’m still getting my new phone up to speed. For instance, it doesn’t seem to want to charge with a usb-c cable. It does fine when using a cradle or mag charger or power from the car. Bizarre.

Then I discovered that talk to text is disabled when a headphone is plugged in.

The girls really had a blast with the little rubber bands they make into bracelets. I ordered them each a kit.

The girls were having fun with the big boxes. They were teleporting. When I asked Penelope why didn’t she just teleport to upstairs she said, “That update comes in 2037.” She’ll be 21. She thought she’d be “around 90.”

Deposited checks. Thank you, Father.

Helped the kids at the Mission.

Everly, Paola and Anna helped me write Thank You notes to supporters. I thought it was a fun idea.

Update with good news.

I think we probably did about fifty notes. Traffic was bad so I decided to get the stamps and get the letters that we’d done in the mail. Also went the Dollar Tree for more Thank You notes. By then the traffic had slacked off some.

Don Cheto.

I checked to see if my message from the grandgirls was still there. It was. I think we need to update it.

I didn’t have any podcasts downloaded on my new phone. Bahd luck. When I didn’t have Nana to talk to that sucked. So I listened to Chemical Brothers. Downloaded the podcasts when I got home.

I changed the tickets for my Mom and Roopa until May. Southwest lets you change your ticket no problem. BUT if you go past the date you were supposed to leave you lose your money.

Keep going.

First selfies with my new iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Anthony! Cleaning! Danou! PE! Azalea! iPhone 16 Pro Max! 3.11.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:05 pm

I’ve been doing research for my Namibian friend Danou. Bonfire seems the best site for selling merch.

Cleaned my shoes. I’ve been doing that regularly for over five years now. I never did that before!

I cleaned the book case and the glass table in J’s office. I’ve really enjoyed my waterproof gloves.

Talked with Pastor Bill Kelly about the team that’s coming next weekend. We will be using the Fellowship Hall and he wanted to make sure that that wouldn’t be a problem.

I’ll add some pictures of maps to the website I’m working on for The Food Forest Namibia.

My iPhone 16 Pro Max came in today! I’ll be charging and setting it up tonight and getting the cell phone numbers changed tomorrow probably.

OYB!

Español!

I got a text from my Mom that she couldn’t get out of bed because of the pain in her leg. My brother Jim took her to the hospital and it turns out she has a fracture! She was transported to another hospital and will have to have surgery soon. So sad. I was really looking forward to her being with me next week. The Father always has His timing.

I had a good talk with Danou about the website that I hope to make live this evening as well as the emails that I sent to the Christian Schools in Otjiwarongo.

Good chat with my buddy, Anthony!

During the day, I kept getting updates from my brother.

Fantastic weather today.

Wrote thank you notes. I already had plenty of art drawn on the envelopes.

Picked up the girls at the bus and went to Cici’s for lunch.

Helped the kids with their homework.

I normally talk to my Mom during my drive time. She’s in the hospital now. Listened to Don Cheto instead.

I just backed up my phone in preparation for transferring the information to my new phone.

Lot of competition this week.

Website! PE! Azalea! Bank! Mattress! 3.10.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:42 pm

I worked for several hours on the website for The Food Forest Namibia last night until after midnight. I made major progress. Super helpful to have ChatGPT4 along for the ride. I’d talk about what I wanted it to say and she’d crank it out in moments. I found this article by Seth Godin to be enlightening.

One of the reasons I stayed up so long last night is because I hadn’t changed my clocks. Plus, I was enjoying working. I’ve changed all the clocks now. Had to get help to figure out how to change the clock in the Honda.

Doing new things can be hard. Setting up the website and changing it from one site to another as a primary site was challenging. I chatted with tech support and got it sorted out. I couldn’t make these instructions work.

I appreciate it when someone prays for me.

Rainy and cold.

OYB!

I came in #2 last week.

I need some of these to hold my sheets back that divide my room.

Ordered groceries.

I got the HDTV antenna to work. My Mom will have the local channels now as well as all the streaming services.

I took an adaptor that I bought on Amazon to UPS to return.

I picked up Everly at the bus. We went to Taco Veloz. Penelope was at drama club and really isn’t much for Mexican food these days.

She showed me her keychain collection. Ten of them!

Picked up checks at my office, processed and then deposited them.

Picked up Penelope.

Helped the kids at the mission. I still have people staying in my place. So we’re outside.

Never too much Ashley!

I took the box springs out to the recycle. This little roller thing is supposed to connect under a heavy duty trash can. It’s super helpful at times to move stuff.

Picked up groceries and put them up.

Keep going.

Danou! Website Text! Art! 3.9.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:44 pm

Español!

I like this.

Gearing up for another art project in J’s new office. I found a can of pink spray paint in my office!

I liked these ideas.

OYB!

Good talk with my buddy Danou about The Food Forest Namibia website and other ministry opportunities.

Doing research on the adaptors and cables I’ll need when my new phone comes in on Tuesday. I already have the case, the screen protector and a belt holster.

I had a good talk with Bachu at Masala about bringing the 100 person team for lunch in May.

Insurance is as necessary as a case for a new phone.

The new non-slip bathroom rugs came in today.

Much colder feeling today. Cloudy and drizzly.

I upgraded my account to ChatGPT plus. I then used AI to help me write the text. I use a female voiced assistant named Sol. So I refer to her as “she.” Kinda weird but seems natural to have a conversation.

I gave her all the elements and she put it together. Fantastic time saver. Plus I can ask ChatGPT to do research on it and then write it up. Fabulous.

Second out of thirty of the best.

Checked to make sure my iPhone charger cradle is compatible with the iphone 16 Pro Max. It is!

My family had a group chat about the art in my house that the girls, Miles, or Ashley had made.

Taxes! Verbal Surgery! 3.8.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:08 pm

I downloaded a file from Ameriprise investiments last night. I printed it and got it ready to mail to my tax guys.

Countdown to when Nana gets here! Amen!

I’ve enjoyed listening to this guy’s music. I think his short videos are really funny.

OYB!

Short pants weather.

Español!

Ordered more parts. i’m getting ready to transplant a lot of the carnivores.

Did some research on whether it’s ok for dogs to stick their heads out of the window. The main danger was them jumping out.

Talked to Nana about writing articles for the newsletter. I think it’ll add a lot to the mailout.

Took the tax packet to the Post Office and used the Self Service window.

Ordered more cables for our iPhones. Also ordered another power/audio adaptor for my car. It’s really starting to short out.

Español!

Recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery called “Steady Head.”

Blew the porch and most of the driveway.

Washed all my bed linens and pillow cases.

Looks like #2 for me this week.

Taxes! Website! 3.7.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:45 pm

Jessi taught me how to take screenshots from YouTube videos yesterday. I screenshot over twenty pictures. This afternoon, I cropped them to get them ready to put on the website.

I enjoy starting new creative projects.

OYB!

Beautiful day.

Español!

I like Jessi’s new curtain. It looks cool in her new office.

Checked the oil and gassed up my car.

I was afraid that I was missing my tax document that said that I had health coverage. I called Tim Deter and he told me that when you get to Medicare, you no longer get that document.

Got my taxes done. I sent them in this afternoon at the Post Office. Later this evening I checked an email from Ameriprise and saw I had another document I needed to download. I’ll send that as a separate packet. The hardest part of doing the taxes is working on the housing allowance data.

File Cabinets! Food Forest! Azalea! Website! 3.6.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:58 pm

I am working on the website for The Food Forest Namibia. Jessi reminded me that I could take screen shots from the videos on YouTube to use as pictures for the site.

Processed checks, went to the bank and deposited them. Thank you, Father!

J came with me to see the grandgirls. We talked with Nana during the trip.

Cooler today.

OYB!

Español!

J and I moved the filing cabinets into the newly painted office.

We went to the Dollar Tree and Walmart to look for flower seeds.

https://photos.smugmug.com/Something-Different/File-Cabinets-Food-Forest-Azalea-Website-3625/i-p8ztJNt/0/LsKnkWqL7zjxMFfp5GdKGXkWndX7RpcPsVBpvJgtG/M/30303472_Unknown-M.jpg

Not used to seeing this.

Ashley and Miles picked the girls up from the bus. J and I went to my office to check the mail. Everly and I went to Azalea to work with the kids.

We wondered if this Red Headed Woodpecker had a nest or was just looking for bugs.

I activated the Wix account and linked thefoodforestnamibia.com. I’ve started working on the site design.

Just keep going.

Anthony! Spray Paint! PE! Wind! 3.5.25

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:50 pm

Robots can’t do much worse than the humans.

Harder to redeem an Amazon gift card than you would think.

OYB!

Español!

So windy that I canceled the Mission today. Miserable outside.

I harvested some rain water in my Gorilla Cart and put it in my carnivore container.

Had to remind a contact that I work with internationals.

This is problematic for me, but I’m trying to just ignore it.

I shot another coat of primer on the filing cabinets and then a coat on with the fluorescent green. The wind helped with this project cause the fumes were really bad.

Good talk with my buddy Anthony.

Miles and Ashley asked us about keeping the grandgirls in May. That wasn’t a problem at all! However, watching Ryder was. I have two bad portions on my fence where I think he could get out pretty quickly.

Good talk with Nana.

My sweet girls!

We ate at Burger King. They have a pretty cool playground.

I think Penelope is an extraordinary artist. She’s coloring this.

Great to have teams coming.

My Mom was talking to me about getting a Kindle. I let her know that the Kindle app is also for her iPad.

Synched my Apple Pay with my main bank account.

Just keep going.
