Whirlwind Missions

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:19 pm

Worked on admin jobs all this morning. Caught up on all my phone calls. Looks like everything is going great!

Still super cold here.
i

The water that I use for my fish tank froze solid outside.
f

Of course the fish were fine inside my room.

Jesse and I went to Willow Branch in Clarkston to help the kids and teach guitar.

Had a great talk with Bennett and Linda Johnson. We’ll have a big group of ladies coming to help us in June.

It got so cold at the mission that the pipes froze and they don’t have any water. Anyone for ice skating?
i
Beautiful sunset on the way home.

Super Cold Sunday

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:31 pm

I spent the coldest night in my room ever last night. I use a little space heater. I turned it on when I got home from Florida. It warmed up to nearly 50. I had plenty of blankets so I was perfectly fine.

A dusting of snow around our neighborhood. It was still a little slippery in the shady spots.

ss

Super cold. Water in the bird baths froze.
ws
Churches were closed today. Pretty amazing weather. I watched Dr. Stanley on TV. Be obedient to God and HE will always take care of you.

Kathy and Jesse and I went out for Pizza.

k

Spent the time resting. I’m getting psyched up for the new year. Yeah!

Frozen Stone Mountain

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:02 pm

Cold and drizzly in Orlando this morning as we packed the car.
s

Kathy and I spent the day in the car riding back to Atlanta.
t

Our car looked like an explosion of bicycles.
b

This is how my co-pilot looked for most of the trip. She’s still not feeling that well, but she’s better after our rest!
k

Beautiful driving conditions. We broke out of the clouds almost exactly as we passed into Georgia!

We stopped at one lucky place.
l

And Rosie’s for some pecan treats. You like Pecan Rolls?
r

Most of my trip I spent researching Costa Rica. It’s where I feel the Lord is urging me to start new ministry. The town I’m particularly interested in is Montezuma. I thought it was cool when I saw this sign for our version of Montezuma in Georgia!
m

Drove by many fields of cotton. Reminded me of Texas! c

Really didn’t see any ice in Atlanta except for near our neighborhood. Sure am glad I missed that!

Rest

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:30 pm

Cloudy day today. Drizzled a bit. K and I rode our bikes around the property and rested and read.
c
Very relaxing.
k

c

Sounds like icy conditions in Atlanta which is where we’re headed back to tomorrow. Hopefully, the roads won’t be bad.

Vacation rest day!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:22 pm

Kathy is still not feeling well. She’s achey and tired all the time.

We went for a late breakfast then came back to the condo. We played some ping pong than she needed to rest.

So my day’s just been chilling out with the TV and computer.

Pray that K will feel 100% tomorrow.

Believe it our not, this week has been the coldest in Florida since 1958–when I was born!

Still a lot warmer than Atlanta!

Orlando International Drive & Ripley’s

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:48 pm

Kathy is feeling better, but she’s still not up to 100%.

We went for a late breakfast at McDonalds.
m

Never been to one like that before!
ff
Then across the street to the Ripley’s Believe It or Not museum. It was really interesting!

We had a great buffet and steak for about $20, for both of us! Amen.
s
Later this evening, after Kathy was tucked in bed watching lame chick movies, I went back out to go to the bookstore. I enjoy looking at all the books on Costa Rica in their Travel section.

Beautiful sunset today!

Biking and Discovery Cove

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:18 pm

m

Kathy felt a bit better today. Yeah!
k
We took it easy in the morning, but this afternoon we jumped on the bikes and rode about 5 miles around Orlando.
t

Most people come to Orlando and go to theme parks like Disneyworld or Universal Studios. We come here and ride our bikes around the outside.

r

We’re not much into big crowds and lines.

Discovery Cove had an off day, so we enjoyed seeing the natural beauty around it!

c

fptd

Almost caught an armadillo beside the road!
a

I snuck up on it to take the picture. When it finally heard me, it jumped a foot in the air!

Cool!

Beautiful view from our back porch.
p

Kathy crashed out early. I’m back to work.

Florida!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:11 pm

Beautiful at this resort.

rp
Kathy was joking with me today telling me how different this is from where we normally stay! Usually we can smell curry cooking from the leasing office!

Kathy has been sick today. Running a slight fever and aching. Hopefully she’ll be better tomorrow.

So I did stuff that K doesn’t like. Namely looking around at malls and watching movies.

I went to a super cool rock/mineral place today! I love finding new pieces for my collection of quartz/amethyst. These two are truly incredible.

I love the finger size of this point. And remember, it came out of the ground just like this!

q

This is a very rare double sided quartz crystal.

c

Did you know that under pressure these crystals give off a slight electric current?

This is called Labrodorite. It’s found in Mexico. I love the color glintz in the stone.
l

I saw Avatar in 3D. What an amazing movie. Especially for tree huggers like me.

Pray that Kathy feels better!

Florida Trek!

Tim A. Cummins @ 1:00 am

Cold morning here!
t

Kathy and I shot out of Stone Mountain about 2pm this afternoon on our way to Orlando, FL!

A friend let us stay at his time share. It’s a beautiful place: the Marriott Cypress Harbour.

br

Took us about seven hours to get here.

r
About 452 miles in all.

We saw a lot of cars from Michigan and from Ontario on their way south. Lot of them had salt from the roads on their vehicles.
s

I like Palm trees
p

Beautiful sunset on our way.
ss

Thank you Lord for the safe trip!

I liked this big cow!

Leonardo da Vinci

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:54 pm

Kathy and I had fun today!
k
We took a field trip to the High Museum to see the Leonardo da Vinci exhibit.
b

I love being downtown shooting pictures of the buildings.

d
b

I have two heroes: Benjamin Franklin and Leonardo da Vinci. Both guys were artists, musicians and writers besides scientists and inventors.

I like the idea of being a Renaissance man.

Here’s Mr. Tim’s tip for the day.

If you have a Bank of America ATM/Visa card you can go for free to the exhibit as long as you have your card with you and it’s the first weekend of the month.

Free is free, baby.

There was a huge line for the place. I walked to the very head of the line and talked to a supervisor. I said I’d called ahead and had my Visa card and could I get a ticket now? She said sure and printed them off right there! We waited in line to go upstairs for about thirty minutes then went right on in.

It was a great exhibit showing many of his sketches for the huge bronze horse he wanted to make.

h

It was fun to be that close to a real genius.
