Final Taste!

Tim A. Cummins @ 4:49 pm

Today Kathy and I went to the Atlanta Jewish Community Center for the final of three parts of the Taste of Judaism with Rabbi Brian Glusman.
b
He did an awesome job!

I enjoy learning more Hebrew words and how Judaism relates to Christianity.
f
This is ISRAEL in Hebrew. It literally means “Struggle with God.”

These mezuzahs are put on the door posts. They include a small scroll with scripture from the Hebrew Bible.

After the meeting we got together with Bill Doverspike and his beloved Deborah.

Always fun to hang out with them!
b
Jesse also came down for lunch. Never too much Jesse!

I went by Clarkston International Bible Church to drop of some supplies for the Mommies and Me program where Kathy works with refugee babies.
ci
Admin duties now.
s
Wasn’t sure what that warning sticker was for. It was on a slushee machine.

Toastmasters! Rising Apes!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:16 pm

Spent most of the day with Jesse today at the Toastmasters meeting.

He enjoys learning more about public speaking. What a great skill!

It was the Regional contest. We enjoyed listening to the speakers. Lasted for about 4 hours. Still fun to hang out with J.
t
This evening Jesse, K and I went to see Rise of the Planet of the Apes. I really enjoyed the movie! Amazingly lifelike computer generation.
ca
K and I also stayed to watch Cowboys and Aliens. Liked that one a lot too!

NAMB! MALL!

Tim A. Cummins @ 4:55 pm

I worked on editing and uploading my newest video to YouTube this morning. Ashley helped shoot me doing a presentation to the youth group at FBC Jonesboro . . . one of my favorite summer teams!

I was on dad gum FIRE, baby! Check it out and see for yourself.

Ashley rode with me today to go pick up some binders that my partners at the North American Mission Board had for me.
n

I appreciate their generosity!

While I was there, I got together with some of the Media and Ethnic experts at the board.
m
Always fun to hang out with guys with kindred spirits.

I totally messed up a pair of pants I have. It had a little ink stain on them. We tried to fix them and MAN, it just kept getting worse and worse!

So I officially retired them and got a few new pairs at the mall.

I liked these shoes!
s

On the way home, traffic was terrible! I car caught on fire and blocked all three lanes of the highway.

I kept praying to the Lord for patience. I needed it right NOW!

Home now to work on admin duties.

I decided to burn DVDs of my presentation last Wednesday to the supporters of our ministry. My current mailing list is 161 people. That’ll take awhile to burn!

I think it’s awesome that I can buy DVDs for about .05 and mail them for next to nothing. Sure beats the old days when I’d send out VHS tapes!

I liked this bumper sticker!
s
Wonder where these were going?
t

Where’s this from?

Newsletter! Fiesta!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:47 pm

Had 1/16″ of rain last night. Better than nothing!
r

This morning I worked on the fund raising newsletter for my upcoming trip to India in October.
n

I printed out the labels and made the copies.
l

c

And went to the Post Office to pick up stamps.
s
I liked the “green” theme. I’m always trying to teach the kids something.

Also worked on editing the video for the team. Now I upload and burn a DVD for them.

Had lunch with my family! Groovy!
c

And had the kids help me with the labels.
m
k

They always enjoy “putting on stickers.” Sweet kids!

Ashley, Jesse and I met up with my team from FBC Heavener, OK at Plaza Fiesta.
ja

I gave them a final briefing and took them around “MexiMall!” Good times!
j

I bought Jesse some carne asadas while I was there. Yumbo! Although they have the hottest salsa in Atlanta. Dad gum habaneros!
s

Went to Publix to pick up my first round of meds against malaria, cholera, encephalitis . . . . and all the other little nasties that try and make you sick when you live in really rural 3rd world countries.

Came back to Mountain Park to say my final goodbyes to the Oklahoma team and to pick up my keys and coolers from their leader.

Home now to work on admin duties.

Can’t hardly believe that my summer teams are actually finished! WOW! What a summer it’s been!

Wasn’t sure about this. What’s vicious?
v

Went to the pet store. I thought this was funny.
d

Who spends money on dog food like this?
d

I liked this logo.
w
Not sure what they do. But I reckon they do it everywhere.

Also like this hood ornament.
s
Drive friendly!

b
Had an awesome time with them. Then over to FBC Jonesboro where Ashley and I made a presentation to the youth group.

We stopped at the Confederate cemetery there before we spoke.
c

They were my favorite team this summer. It was great to see them again!

Ashley shot video of me speaking. I’ll have that on line for your enjoyment soon!

Watched Royal Pains and White Collar with Kathy this evening. Groovy!

Another hot day! I saw it briefly go up to 105 in my car!
b
But my friends from Oklahoma said it was 118 in their town! Holy moly!

It was great to have Monica and her brother Justin lead the teams this week.
m

JP and Jesse are the youth directors. They’ll be moving to Arkansas soon for new challenges!
jp
Monica is doing a wonderful job with Mobilizing Students.

Even though it was hot.

h
It was still “Surprisingly cool in the shade!”

I’ve been teaching Ashley how to shoot video news style. It’s cool how fast she understands and grabs the concepts I’m showing her!
a

Came on home to work on new podcasts! One of my favorite things to do!

Here’s a new favorite. “Smiling Cures All Ills!” Click on that title and I guarantee you will feel good NOW!

And here’s a thought I’ve been working on for the last few days, “Why me?” Said in the most upbeat, positive way possible! “Why Me?” I love this podcast. Check it out!

I’m not sure I should park near this.
c

When my friend told me, “I just saw Hello Kitty taking a poop.” I didn’t believe him. Only in the International Village!
k

Not sure about you, but I think we all could use more amusive fish.

Came home to put the finishing touches on the Financial Report. Jesse did all the heavy lifting on that project.

And the rest of my admin duties.

I thought this creosote oozing from a telephone pole was interesting.
