Planets!

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:10 pm

I enjoyed a fun lunch with Kathy and Jesse today!
k
We dropped Kathy off at CIBC so she could ride her bike back to our house. That’s about 8 miles!
b
Jesse and I went to Azalea to help the fourth graders work on their planet project.
j
a
Today’s assignment was to paint the boxes I cut for them black.

I thought they did a good job.

Back home now to work on admin duties and rest. Big week coming up with the missions conference at Peachtree Corners Baptist Church. They’re one of my original partners from 1996!

CIBC! Ash & Miles! AFC!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:22 pm

Kathy, Jesse and I enjoyed Clarkston International Bible Church today!
c
We had a middle school group from Hunter Street Baptist Church sing. They sounded good!
h
j
Pastor Phil continued his series from Revelation. He talked about the church of Pergamum today. Interesting.
p
K, J and I ate Somali food at Madina, then went for a short visit with Ashley and Miles. Always good!
t
Watched the last of the game with San Francisco and Atlanta. Sad we lost, but I don’t really get fired up about football.

Burger! Internet!

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:31 pm

Had about 1/2″ of rain last few days. Sure am glad to see the sun again!
r
Went to Red Robin for a burger. I ate the Royal Burger with a fried egg on it. I think it might have been the best burger I’ve ever eaten.

Had a chai latte at Barnes and Noble. I enjoyed reading Seth Godin’s new book, the Icarus Deception. Excellent!
s

Main job was to go the ATT store and try and figure out the internet at the mission.
a
I got it squared away. Took about an hour. Place was packed.

Got the car gassed up and ready for next week.

Feeling tired today. Didn’t sleep well last night. Got kind of cold in the house.

Resting and finishing up my admin duties. Our treasurer dropped off the financial reports that Ashley works on. Got those organized and in the filing cabinet for our permanent records.

I liked the bumper stickers I saw today!

f

I agree with this. Although if they dropped an encyclopedia out of the airplane it could still do damage.
b

Not sure what to make of this.

Stone Mountain!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:51 pm

Had a fun day today with my family!

I enjoyed lunch with Jesse. Great BBQ from Crazy Ron’s. Went to the Confederate cemetery while they fixed our sandwiches.
c
t
Then to Stone Mountain to climb with Kathy.
m

Always beautiful!
s
m

I loved the way the water runs down the mountain.
w

ww
Horizontal tree.
h

One of my favorite carvings.
c

I like this one too.
w

Had a good time watching Psych with K and J!

Admin duties now.

Dion! Azalea! Planets!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:03 pm

It was great to see our good friend Dion from Moultrie, GA today!

d
He’s bringing folks from his church to work with us during the Spring break. Excellent! We also took him to White Windmill–a little Korean restaurant. Ashley got this pastry.
c

Helped the kids at the mission with their homework.
t
j

We’re working with the 4th graders on their Solar System project. I was glad we had the internet to help us get the colors and scale right.
s

I think they’re doing a good job!
a

This represents Mercury.
m

Rainy, drizzly cold weather today. I always call this, “Europe Weather.” Ashley said when she was little that any person they didn’t like they called, “cold weather.” I thought that was funny.

I liked this sign at QT.

Podcast! Solar Prep! Azalea!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:58 pm

It’s been wet! Rained about an inch. Excellent!
w

Worked on a new podcast this morning!
p

Always one of my favorite things to do! I really like this one. It’s called “Flip the Switch!” Click on the title and start the change you want NOW!

The fourth graders have a big Solar System project due in a about a week. I think I have everything they need for it now. I have to cut the boxes down to size. Then we’ll hang the planets through a hole in the box.
b
b

Had to go to Lowes to get black paint.
l

On Monday they’ll paint the boxes black and start building the different planets to scale.

Lots of work at the mission!

Errands! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 11:24 pm

Jesse helped me work on errands today.
j
We went by DFACS to check on some insurance information.
d
Also tried to get my clicker for my car worked on.
c
Hopefully, we’ll get that squared away soon. We found a guy who thinks he can program one.
l
Hope so.

Went to Walmart to pick up supplies for a Solar System project that my fourth graders are working on. Should be fun.

Helped the kids with their homework. Lot of it today. Didn’t leave till nearly 7pm.

Really foggy on the way home. Hard to see in our neighborhood.
f
My back has been hurting. Tried to lift a recliner by myself. Not a good plan. It’s better.

I reckon Jesus was Jewish so I guess this works.

Podcast! Mission!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:53 pm

Had fun recording a new podcast this morning!
o
p
I really like this one. It’s called “Inaction Plan!” Not everything takes a lot of movement. Sometimes waiting expectantly is what’s needed!

Posted some creative writing I’d done onto my twitter feed.
t Over 80,000 followers!

Enjoyed a fun lunch with Ashley and Kathy.

Had a good time working with the kids at the mission.

Pray for my friend Tammy Braden. We were supposed to have a meeting tomorrow to show her around the International Village. She had to take her husband to the hospital today with chest pains.

Home now for admin duties.

Brookhaven! Bill and Debra! Ian!

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:08 pm

This morning Kathy, Jesse and I went to go visit our good friends Bill and Debra at Brookhaven Christian Church.
b
b
They had an interesting multimedia approach to a service.
b
It was quite good, but I really don’t enjoy being in a sanctuary that seems dark and closed off from the outside. That’s a fairly typical thing in contemporary worship because it uses slides and lights and video.

We had Vietnamese food for lunch.
j
Also went over to visit with Ian North. He hurt his knee running an ultra-marathon in Savannah yesterday. He seems to be doing ok now.

Home now to work on admin duties and rest.

Rest! Django!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:46 pm

Enjoyed a restful day today. We had fun eating in Lawrenceville.
f
t
t
Kathy, Jesse and I went to see Django Unchained. I think Tarantino did a great job on this movie.
df

Not exactly a chick flick, however. Kathy was less impressed.

Admin duties now and time with K.
