Sandy Springs Recon with AP!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:27 pm

Rained nearly 1/2″ last night.

Ashley, Penelope and I went on a recon of the Sandy Springs area for new mission sites.
s

Our goal was six sites in the area.

We achieved our goal including two new properties which are the largest in the area: The Falls and Mosaic.

We talk to the managers about a Summer Camp.

We clearly tell them that they’ll tell a Bible story, so we’re not being secretive about it.

After the Sandy Springs recon, we went back to the Buford Highway side of the map to talk to managers about next week’s team.

The hard part is getting the big bus around to the locations. You have to drive the route multiple times, imagining that you’re a big bus to see if they can make right hand turns or not, or can they get into the entrance of the apartment complexes. Most of the time they just stop and let the kids off on the side of the road. The people in our area are used to that and are patient.

Another challenging job was getting 10 bags ready for teams from First Baptist Atlanta. It’s complicated logistics on a large scale. We do it regularly so it’s no big deal. Some churches prefer just to pay us to go and get the stuff and sort it.

I had to make a Walmart run to pick up 12 balls. Dollar Tree was out.

Set up the fellowship hall for The Show tomorrow morning.

Admin duties now.
