Podcast! KJ! Car! Double Decade Dinner!

Tim A. Cummins @ 10:20 pm

Last night I saw three raccoons at my feeder at the same time. I reckon they’re brothers and sister.
s
Hard to get good pictures because of the low light.

Gave myself a hair cut. I always leave the trimmings for the birds. It’s always gone in a matter of hours. Looks kind of like a mustache!
s

This morning I had fun: RECORDING! A terrific episode on the importance of what you say.

Repaired the hand rail on my staircase. Actually, I just added an additional support. The contractor didn’t try to hit the studs, he just anchored the railing in the sheet rock. Eventually, that’s going to start coming loose. Especially on the ends.

Drilled holes and put the anchors in the sheet rock.
s

This should prevent pulling through again. We’ll see.

Hammered the anchors in.
s

Screwed in the base.
s

Drilled two small holes in the rail.
s

Screwed the other part into the rail.
s

Started cleaning my car. Vacuumed it and moved all the extra stuff in the house to make room for our luggage for our Safari tomorrow to the N. Georgia mountains.
s
s

Enjoyed lunch with Kathy and Jesse.
s
Finished cleaning my car.

Washed.

s
Even cleaned the hubcaps. Whoa.
s

Hand dried.
s

Cleaned all the windows.
s

Cleaned all the surfaces inside the car.
s

I had a brief rest to watch some Baylor football, then got dressed for our big Double Decade Dinner.

Hard to believe that I’ve been working here for twenty years. Got to say I love it more today than ever!

It was great to see friends and family!

Perhaps my greatest surprise and joy was seeing Tabias.
s
He was one of my original youth group at Azalea. Love him like a son. I really appreciated him making the time to come to the party.

Ashley and I did several pieces of The Show including the Aepyornis Egg, Best Day Ever, Oshe Baba our presentation on Mexican Catholicism and a bit on Buddhism.
s

Tito Ruiz, who is the Treasurer of the Whirlwind Missions board, gave his 20 Favorite Things about Tim Cummins. It was quite moving. We’ve been through a lot together for sure.
s
Another great moment was when Lester, Tito and I did an acapella version of “Cristo Vive,” which was the signature song for our band Cruz. I thought we sounded pretty good for not having played in ten years!

Carl Barrington, the President of our Board gave a great summation of our ministry and the importance of supporting it financially. Love that guy!
s

I had a final prayer and gave them the Aaronic Blessing in Hebrew.
s

After the party, we struck the set. We had about 25 people come, which is almost exactly what I thought would be the case. I think we had 44 people RSVP. People are just so busy. Especially during football season.

I’ve started packing my bags for our trip tomorrow. I’m really glad that Jesse is coming with us. That’ll add an extra element of fun. I’m sure K and I well get plenty of alone time, too. We’ll get Jesse his own room.

Admin duties now.
