Wires Down! Azalea! 9.1.21

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:03 pm

We had our version of Hurricane Ida effects this morning.

About 5:30 AM the power went off in our house. That’s never zesty. It turned out that a dead tree in our neighbor’s yard fell and tore down the power, telephone and cable TV lines in our neighborhood.

The wires completely blocked our driveway so we couldn’t leave. The tree was massive. The sound of chainsaws started around 6:00 AM.

It tore the telephone pole in half.

OYB!

I thought it was interesting that the Bible talked about the light shining in the darkness, because it was REALLY dark this morning.

The power company had a fleet of trucks to work on the situation.

They yanked the old pole out of the ground.

Dug the old pole out and expanded the hole.

Put the new pole in.

Hooked the wires to the new pole.

We got power back on after about six hours. The team said that there were THOUSANDS of these poles knocked over by Ida. Wow.

ATT came next to put up their wire. They did us a massive favor by tying the cable line back up too so we could get out of our house without damaging the cable. Unfortunately, it’s still on the ground at our neighbor’s house. Hopefully, they’ll be able to get it back up into the air tomorrow morning.

EspaƱol.

I got the title to the PT Cruiser over to T&G. Contacted the tow company that will take it to Kars4Kids.

It was great to see my treasurer Jon Paul today. We had a really nice visit!

Cool!

Palabra nueva.

I signed up for a newsletter about getting a used car.

Mileage.

Got the newsletters folded and stuffed in the envelopes, and into the mail.

I brought some ice cream sundaes over to the girls for a treat. Kathy came with me because she couldn’t go into work due to the wires blocking our cars.

I repaired the burst tube on Penelope’s bike.

I got Jesus into the Mercury.

Helped the kids with their homework.

Not quite as hot today.
