Had a fun chat with my buddy, Anthony. He and his wife are in Portugal now on holiday.
Did my laundry.
Hiked 2.73 miles.
The girls and I ate at Taco Veloz then went to the gym for their class.
Hard to get good shots when they’re pretty still and no one is running between us.
Came back to the mission to help the kids with their homework. I was there until 8:20 this evening. Penelope forgot her water bottle.
Went to my office after I cleaned up the mission. I had to move a LOT of stuff from my office to my storage room. Took about six trips. Monday morning I’ll get over there about 9:00 AM and set everything up. I’d rather do it this evening than have to get there extra early.

I wrote some thank you notes to a couple of supporters.

One of my board members, Pat Barrington is helping the ministry get a new (used) car. Our friend Marlon from church did a great job going to Birmingham, buying it from an auction, then fixing it up.
It’ll probably take a few weeks to get the title. It’s a 2011 Honda CRV with 157,000 miles. I should get years of service. Thank you, Father for blessing me with this gift.
The azaleas in my yard are so beautiful.
Never seen this before. Guy on a bike, pushing a bike, while carrying a bike on his back.
I drove my new car home. K helped me get the Mercury that I had parked in front of Pat’s house.
After eating, we picked up the girls at the bus and took them to the Downwind restaurant at the PDK airport. The girls enjoyed eating chicken nuggets and watching planes land. It was super active. I bet we saw over fifty planes take off or land while we were there.
Everly’s art.
Helped the kids at the mission. It was really wild today.
Talked with my friend Pat about the car she’s working on getting for us.
I checked on the prices to go to Texas for Jessi. She wants to see the Solar Eclipse in early April, but sadly the prices had gone up to much to make that feasible. She’ll go in May instead when it’s $200 less expensive.
Turned windy and colder today.
Went by my office to check the mail.
Had a good talk with my Mom. We worked on figuring out the ticket to Texas.
Went by the Post Office to get reimbursed for the $30 I spent for the “overnight” package that took four day to get there. Made me feel a little better. The first package I sent with the original documents STILL hasn’t gotten there. Ay, caramba.
The Nintendo 64 game system finally arrived today. Incredible how messed up the Post Office is in Metro Atlanta right now. Still waiting for the game I got for it to get here.
Picked up the girls at the bus. We went to the Buford Highway Farmers Market for lunch.
Helped the kids with their homework.
Listened to Don Cheto.
Processed the checks and deposited them.
Got my car gassed up and added oil.
Picked up the groceries.

Power popped off and on for over four hours last night. Someone clobbered a power pole not far from our house. I called Walton Power as soon as the lights went dead.

Walked .63 miles.
Made PBJs for J.
Went to Westside BC with K this morning.
I always read along en Español.
K and I ate Mexican food on the way home from church. I like this picture at El Guero.
Hard to believe it’s going to freeze again.
Ordered groceries. I’ll pick them up after work tomorrow.
Cleaned my hummingbird feeders in a bleach solution, rinsed them thoroughly, got them filled, and put them in my yard. The 1/4 mix of sugar to water is easy to measure.
I released an episode of Verbal Surgery called “Lower Case” this afternoon. It’s super practical.

Called my tax guys to make sure they had my forms. They did. Amen.
Sprinkled most of the day. I used an umbrella. Many didn’t.
I found out what happened to the Nintendo 64, although I don’t know when I’ll get it. Case closed.
Fun chat with Anthony. He’s speaking at a convention. I told him he should get a life sized cutout.
Washed my clothes.
I went to Lawrenceville today to get my Homestead Exemption form to them directly. Don’t trust the mail.
While I was there, she said I also qualified for the Solid Waste exemption. I filled out that form and had it notarized for free while I was there. Took a picture of it with my iPhone and emailed it to them. Ah, technology.
Went to Red Robin for lunch. It’d been years since I went there. It was good.
Listened to Don Cheto.
Went to Lowes to check on prices and types of stain for my house. I’m thinking about painting at least one side of my house that looks weather beaten.
That five gallons should cover at least 2,250 sq ft.
Found a lumberyard that has the Roughcut Cedar shiplap siding I need for my house. I need to replace a couple of small boards.
I got a call from my tax guy. There’s an issue we need to address with our payroll company. Gordon said he wanted to talk to my treasurer so I called Jon to get in touch with him.

Had a chat with my friend Jon Paul about Whirlwind business.
I’m currently memorizing this song from Juanpalitochinos. I’m using it to teach the grandgirls some Español.
The Overnight package I sent to Rome, GA was four days late. It’s guaranteed so I hope I get my $30 back.

Beauty.
Hiked 2.11 miles.
Decided to call Jon to discuss some plans. I’ve come to the conclusion that Jon vastly prefers a phone call to texting.
Had to add some money to my account.
Had a fantastic conversation with a new friend from Fayetteville, GA. Rusty Woods served in Ethiopia. We resonated. If all goes well, he will be bringing teams over the years. Amen to that.
I picked up the girls at the bus and took them to Taco Veloz.
They did great at gymnastics.
I brought donuts. The Bengalis at Dunkin’ Doughnuts gave me double. Don’t stop the blessings.
Two of the older kids helped some of the younger ones today. What a blessing.
Everly’s beautiful art.
Straightened up the mission and threw away all the trash.
Listened to Don Cheto.
I found a new bank ATM that’s pretty much on my way. Saves some time.
Blew the garage. Beech leaves are the last to fall.

Hiked 1.07 miles. Cut my walk short because I wanted to go to the Post Office.
I had four separate packages I was trying to track down. The Ninendo 64 was misdelivered to another 1735 across the river from my house..
I left a note and she called me and said she taped it all back up and took it back to the Post Office to deliver. Hope for better luck this time.
Always studying.
K and I picked up the girls at the bus. Penelope came with us to Waffle House. Everly stayed at the mission with her friend Natalia.
I love their art.
Deposited a check. Thank you, Father!
Gorgeous weather.
Checked the mail at my office.
I got the Whirlwind Missions check book and the last sets of receipts from Ashley. So I consider the job officially transferred back to me. I spent time organizing receipts and deposit slips as well as the bank reports for the time period. I’ll take that to our treasurer soon.
Ashley did a great job of keeping all the financial stuff going for years. Thanks so much, Ash!

My “guaranteed over night delivery” from the Post Office has missed the first day. I did get a notification on the original I sent ten days ago. It’s moving, but hasn’t gotten there yet. These two packages contain my tax stuff for my preparer.
Went to my office to meet a new friend, Buck Burch. He’s the Director of Missions at the Georgia Baptist Convention. He was stationed in Russia for thirteen years. I enjoyed showing him around and introducing to several people from Russia as well as one from Ukraine and Kazakstan. He was like a kid in a candy store. It was super cool to watch.
Beautiful day! It’s what I call “Nakuru” weather.
Good talk with Nana. We discussed Jessi coming to visit her.
Helped the kids at the mission. I was there till 7:30 PM explaining algebra to one of my high schoolers. I didn’t realize it was that late because it was so bright outside.
I added mulch to my Pink Magnolia at Azalea.
Beauty!
Checked the mail again. It sometimes comes really late.
Got a whistle for K.
