PE! AZ@ Mall! Mushrooms! Fishing! Goodwill! 7.30-31.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 5:26 pm

Big storms in the ATL cut our power out last night for about 1.5 hours. Thus the combined blog today.

Delta is still paying for the computer problems.

Talked with my Mom.

Cleaned up the mission. Threw away some junk.

Girlies!

Last day of Super Summer School.

Got gas and checked the oil. Went to Waffle House.

We liked these metal statues.

It’s been raining regularly here. I liked the mushrooms.

Took the girls to Goodwill. I found a new fedora I really like. It’s like my others from Ecuador! Usually they cost at least $60. This one cost less than $4! It looks brand new.

Went to Perimeter Mall to walk around. Girls liked the hair stuff.

We play a game where we try to guess what pair of shoes the other person likes the best. This was one of my choices.

WX!

More mushrooms!

Everly and I went to the lake at Stone Mountain while J and P enjoyed working on a her new computer keyboard.

She ended up catching two fish in her little bread bag.

I love shooting water reflections.

Most of the big storms missed us, but they still killed our power for about 1.5 hours last night, as I mentioned earlier. The girls were pretty scared. It was very dark. J lit a candle which helped.

Everly drew while I studied Spanish.

We went to the Goodwill near my house this morning. We looked for clothes and jackets. We found some good ones.

K and I took the girls to the Lazy River pool this afternoon. We had a lot of fun. We went right at 12:30 and had the place mainly to ourselves. The girls and I also swam laps in the 25 yard inside pool. We swam over two football fields. That’s a lot!

Got a call from one of our supporter’s secretaries. We had missed a check that the Post Office had sent back to them. I told her of the problems we are facing here and for them just to send it again.

PE! Rob! Office! Newsletters! 7.29.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:15 pm

Came in #2 on Duolingo last week.

OYB!

WX!

Love my girls!

I dropped the newsletter off to be copied at FBC Doraville with our secretary.

The girls worked hard on their studies this morning. Especially Penelope. She reviewed the 2,3,4,5,6 tables today.

Everly showed me her drawings. I like her style.

Went to the church to pick up the copies of my newsletter. The girls helped me stuff the folded paper and take the stickers off to seal the envelope.

My buddy Rob Martin came up from Jonesboro to eat lunch with me and the grandgirls. Good time with warm discussions.

Cleaned and vacuumed my office.

Went to the Post Office to drop off the newsletters. The girls helped me put them in the slot. They insisted on doing it one envelope at a time. Ay, caramba.

Strong storms with a LOT of rain. Actually caused a whirlpool at the Plaza Fiesta parking lot.

Signed up for a zoom call with the Vice President tomorrow evening.

Good chat with my Mom.

Been raining a lot this Summer.

Loaded up the dogfood I bought for the raccoons in my sealed trash can.

Sewed a button on to one of my shirts. As I look at it now, I didn’t do a very good job. But it’s the bottom button. No one will notice.

Anthony! Newsletter! Labels! Groceries! 7.28.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:36 pm

OYB!

Español!

Ordered groceries.

WX!

Fun chat with my buddy Anthony.

Wrote and produced my newsletter. Pasted labels. Ordered more labels. I still need to get the copies made and the stamps purchased. That’s a tomorrow job.

Listened to Don Cheto.

I’ll come in #2 this week.

Español! Verbal Surgery! Laundry! 7.27.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:24 pm

I edited the video for the team that worked with me this week last night. Uploaded the video to YouTube.

I contacted Devon this morning to get his email so I could send the final Thank You letter to the team. It includes all the photo galleries, the link to the video and links to other publications of mine.

Español!

Did my laundry.

I paid for the insurance for the mission. It was quite a bit cheaper to pay it all off rather than finance it.

Looked into getting a couple of new pairs of shorts. I’m not sure they’ll be exactly like what I had. It was weird that Amazon didn’t have a record of buying those shorts. I’ve purchased at least four pairs.

The team climbed Stone Mountain. They were singing Oshe Baba and a group of Nigerians came around and sang it with them. They were blown away.

Went to lunch with K, then to Walmart to pick up a few things, mainly mouthwash for Jessi. She said her mouth and gums were hurting.

Went to Stone Mountain to record a new episode of Verbal Surgery called, “Hypernation.” Good one.

Relentless.

Foundation Church! Plaza Fiesta! CD Tower! Azalea! 7.26.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:53 pm

OYB!

WX!

My girls!

After I set up for the team this morning, I got the glue gun out to repair the frame for one of my pictures. I almost always burn myself. I continued that today. Man, those things get hot, but they really can fix a lot of stuff.

I liked Penelope’s prayer for us.

After our Dedication Day at the church, we went on Safari to Plaza Fiesta. I took pictures of all the animals we saw at Laredo Western Wear.

I got word on the approval of our insurance for the mission. I’ll take care of that tomorrow. They’ve already sent the Certificate of Insurance to the apartment manager.

We had a great time together. I took them to Taco Veloz for lunch.

Then to Plaza Fiesta!

I took them to the mission at Azalea and then went to back to the church to strike the set and help get the room ready for the school supply distribution that one of my partners does.

The kids enjoyed the team’s skit.

And limbo!

Foundation Church! Al Madina! Kitab Bookstore! Azalea! 7.25.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:59 pm

I did research on Mount Moriah this morning before my Judaism/Christianity/Islam presentation. This is according to the Jewish tradition and doesn’t jibe with the actual Biblical account.

Got my Electronic ticket for the Hives show in October. Groovy.

OYB!

My girls mean everything to me.

I love the girls art! Penelope drew “Kitty City.” Everly drew “Watermelon.”

I will repair the frame tomorrow morning.

This has been my set up for Summer 2024. This is the Judaism presentation day.

Rain blew in. Wasn’t very heavy.

I look forward to these guys coming, even if there are only three of them!

I really enjoy looking at the wind map.

I’ll come in the top three this week.

I enjoyed doing my presentation on Christianity, Judaism and Islam. We had our Red Thread presentation. Then I took them on Safari to Asian Square, China Town, Al Madina and the Kitab book store.

We enjoyed lunch at Al Madina.

Cool place.

The Kitab book store is also really interesting.

Foundation Church, OH! Hindu Temples! Azalea! 7.24.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:29 pm

The video of this speech was fabulous.

I liked this post by Seth Godin.

The fund raising that Harris is doing is phenomenal.

Hottest day EVER!

Further proof of just how wacky Trump is.

OYB!

WX!

Near ground level clouds this morning.

Love my girls!

It’s late in the Summer but I still make them do work. I found some markers that they enjoyed making art with.

Some big storms rolled through the ATL!

I was almost out of gas so had to get it at a higher price than I usually do. Got it at the QT in Doraville. Checked the oil level.

A lot of water came down right quick.

I had a great morning with my team from Foundation Church, OH. I took them to Hibachi Grill for lunch and then to the BAPS Hindu Temple and to Global Mall.

Great time with the kids at the mission.

Foundation Church, OH! BHFM! Azalea! 7.23.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:16 pm

Came in #3 last week. Good effort for a busy week.

That’s scary low.

I filled in the forms last night. Had to sign them again today. Got it all done.

OYB!

Great to have all my girls together.

The team that is working with me this week is here because of this massive computer problem.

Surprisingly cool, but still felt hot because of the humidity.

The storms parted and the team kept dry at Azalea this afternoon.

Had a fun time with my team from Ohio. I enjoyed taking them on Safari to the Buford Highway Farmers Market.

Great time at the mission.

Huh.

Went to Dollar Tree to pick up snacks and drinks for the kids.

PE! Azalea! Team! Insurance! Stuffies! 7.22.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 4:52 pm

Still hard to believe that Biden stepped down, but I’m glad he did. It’s for the best.

OYB!

WX! Looks like something brewing near Thailand.

Español! Came in #3 out of 30.

My girls!

Azalea!

Summer is coming to a close.

Good talk with my Mom. She’s back home.

I talked with a team leader who is stranded at the airport in Atlanta due to the computer mess up. Looks like I’ll have an 8 person team running Tuesday through Friday. Amen.

Still working on the insurance for the mission.

Looks like my buddy Ben Birdsong is still sending teams this direction. Amen, brother!

Learning the names of Everly’s stuffies. Twenty in all.

Español! Anthony! Podcast! Yard Work! Biden! 7.21.24

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:13 pm

It’s crazy how fragile the network is.

I think Biden will go down in history as one of the best presidents in modern history. It’s astonishing how much he got accomplished. I think him stepping down is the right decision.

Last night, I edited the video I shot and sent the final email to the team. Now I consider the job checked off.

Ashley got some new furniture last night. Now the whole family can sit down. Yeah, baby!

OYB!

Español!

WX!

Sprinkled intermittently.

Had a fun chat with my buddy Anthony.

Recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery called, “The Off/On Switch.” Excellent!

K and I went out to eat Mexican food. I took a prescription to Publix to fill for J. While I was there I saw two weird things: blank cards and scam alerts.

The pots I planted the flowers in were not draining. It took the drill to fix that problem.

Cleaned and refilled the hummingbird feeders and bird baths.

Trimmed some trees, bushes and weeds.

Swept the carpet.

Cleaned up the St. Francis shrine.

A little of 2″ of rain over the last couple of days.
