E-book! FBA! Mission! 4.9.18

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:10 pm

Last night I continued working on the e-book version of Story Tim–Adventure Land. I’m making all the fonts and pitch size consistent and making sure there are the correct page breaks.

I’ll continue with that procedure as well as study Duolingo after I finish my admin duties.
Enjoying reading Enlightenment Now. Here is another quote I like.

Kathy and I met up with Ashley and the girls at FBC Atlanta this morning.

Kathy looked for outfits. Ashley looked for clothes for Everly. I watched Penelope.

I captured and released squirrel #18 today. I cover them up to keep them calm. I tried to take a picture but they get super stressed out, so you get to see the covered version.

Here’s the area where I let them go. Several acres of wild forest.

The dogwoods outside my office window are amazing.

Went by the church to pick up mail. Lots of checks. Amen.

Went to the mission to help the kids at the mission. They are taking the Milestone test so very little homework.

I cherish every moment with Penelope. We play with the other kids outside.

I talked to Penelope about casts and molds at the beach. We saw some beach toys that could make pyramids or the Sydney Opera House. I told her how you put sand in and turned it over and it made a model. She saw toys that we got for Everly, realized that a couple of them could work as a molds.

She had a handful of dirt in her hand, that I wouldn’t let her take into the house. She wanted to get the starfish. She was very sad about that. Eventually, she put the dirt in my hand, got the starfish and came back. She filled them with dirt and made little starfish.

Flowers from the Lord.

One of the neighbors has two roosters. They wake up the neighborhood. The girls like them.

She likes riding the neighbor’s toys.

One of the girls gave Penelope a little scarf to wear.

I need to memorize my granddaughter’s birthdays!
The girls had a blast all going down the slide at the same time.

Sp/Swahili! Yard! 4.8.18

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:36 pm

Studied Spanish and Swahili this morning.

Cleaned my fish tank. First, I have to take everything out of the tank.

After removing the water and cleaning the pebbles, I clean the glass.

After the water has settled, it’ll be crystal clear.

Caught and released squirrel #17. I let them go in a forest about five miles from my house on the other side of the Yellow River.

Watered my indor garden.

Worked a lot on my back yard. Took out some small trees.

When I was cleaning out the border area of my yard, I found these two wooden ties. Perfect for the walkway I want to make.

Eventually, I’ll have mulch and will fill this in.

I retied this plant to the pine tree.
My goal today was to completely clean off the fence on the west and north sides of the hosue. As well as clean out the border area between the fences.
It’s been years since I cleaned it off. Thick.

It almost looked like a hedge. Super bad for the fence. Makes it rust really quickly.
I’d take a break from vines and work on other projects. One of them was to take the wire rope off of one of my pine trees.

This was the wire that the kids rode down on from the Raptor Hide.

I used a hack saw and vice grips to get it off.
Then back to pulling vines off the fence.

I pulled mounds of stuff off.
Eventually, I had the vines removed and big piles on the side.

Final step is to put it all in the compost pile. It’s composed almost entirely of branches and tree trunks.

Better!

I always wear eye protection. Sure glad I did today!

The most I’ve done in one whack. Total body work out.

I’ve just recently brought one of my miniature orchids to my desk. What joy these flowers bring me!

Admin duties now.
Plan on watching a video on the steps to turn your Word document into a Kindle format so I can sell my book on Amazon.
I saw my hummingbird for the first time yesterday!

Book! Yard!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:42 am

Saturday, Miles came over to pick up Penelope around lunch time. Sad to see her go! The other grandparents need her blessing, TOO!

Spent time working on my new book, Story Tim–Adventure Land. I’m figuring out how to format it for Kindle so I can sell it on Amazon. It’s a challenge!

Also attacked my back yard. Worked on the vines that are taking over the fence line.

Pull ’em up by the roots!

Then mowed more.

On the back fence, too!

Massive difference.

I liked this quote from Enlightenment Now.

I need to get rid of the old lawnmowers I’ve worn out over the years.

Good work out. Arms are tired.

Went to sleep early. Caught up on the admin duties this morning.

Tooth! Girls! Yard!

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:35 pm

I broke a tooth yesterday. I called the dentist’s office early this morning to verify that I could walk in. They called back and said that was fine. Got there at 9:00 am. I had been assessed and had that tooth cleaned out, crown prep and temporary crown put on in about 2.5 hours. I thought that was great.

Expensive work. Looking at estimates between $1,500 and $1,940.

He found a problem on one x-ray under a previous crown. Nothing hurts now. Better to get it fixed before the pain starts. I’ve had that happen.

While I waited for each procedure, I studied Spanish and Swahili.

Dr. Jeon has been the best dentist I’ve ever had.

Had lunch and got to hang out with the girls today. Always a blessing.

Deposited money. Also got a new bank card for Whirlwind. For some reason the chip on my card stopped working.

Set out the recycle. Lots of stuff after my cleaning project.

Captured and released squirrel #16.

Worked on the yard for about an hour. Super hard mowing. Beautiful flowers!

This one species of weed really tried to take over my yard.

Thick.

Lot of work.

Admin duties now.
My camera graveyard. I’ve take over a quarter of a million photographs in the last twenty years.

Spanish! Podcast! House! Plumbing! Tooth!

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:30 pm

Studied Spanish and Swahili. I spend about twenty minutes each day.

I took one test and placed out of five sessions.

Recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery called “Mind Vine.” Thoughts that can enter and ensnare. How to get rid of them!

Talked with the Radiology people. Turned out that where Kathy went was not in our network. Wish they would have been clearer with her.

Editing my book. Went through ten chapters or more.

Moved furniture around our house. Cleaning out the master bedroom. First was to move a desk and clean out the drawers.

These four bags are for Ashley. They have her creative stuff in them. Special pens and embossing things.

Lot was trash.

I organized the pillows, sheets and jackets. Put them in garbage bags and stacked them in the closet.

Also cleaned out the area near our laundry room. Big job!

Had my plumber come over to redo the pvc pipe under the sink.

He also tweaked my shower that he fixed last time and checked on one of my toilets that was running occasionally. Word is to repair that one. Not bad enough yet.

He was good enought to haul off two box springs and a mattress for me. Cheers!

Jesse and I tried to figure out the what plant had these blue flowers. They are beautiful!

Ate supper with Jesse. I broke piece of one of my incisors tonight. It had a small chip in the back of the tooth for about two weeks. I chewed on something hard it the front part broke off. I’ll check on the dentist tomorrow.
Makes me sad. It’ll all work out!

I saw these gold shoes outside the Dollar Tree.

100,000! Podcast! LIVE! Yard!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:00 pm

Studied Spanish and Swahili this morning.

This wasn’t an easy lesson.

Learning more Swahili.

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery -545- “INpact!”

Just click on the title and GROOVE!

Biggest news is that my podcast Verbal Surgery went over 100,000 downloads last month. Wowzers!

Uploaded “INpact!” to my server.

Link on Facebook.

LIVE on Facebook!

Had lunch with Jesse. Always interesting!

Finished mulching the leaves in my front yard.

Then watered it down to settle the dust.

Hauled all this bush to the compost area in my yard.

I carried most of the big ones, then stacked them on my wheelbarrow.

Also focused on edging today.

Blowing is generally the last job.

I needed to dig a small trench to channel water away from the driveway. No hoe.

Rinsed off the driveway. The red colored water reminded me of Kenya days.

The red clay here in Georgia is identical to Kenya’s.
Good work out and a lot accomplished.

Took K out for supper.

Podcast! Yard!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:18 pm

Recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery! Always fun!

Took the Financial Report to my Treasurer’s house.

Did the grocery shopping.

Can you hear me now?

Had fun with Penelope for about an hour. Always a blessing!

I took her to the park. We have THREE within two miles of my house. What a blessing.

Took my plants outside. Only the bigger ones. The little ones I’m not taking outside any more.

I cut this stump out. I kept crashing into it with my lawnmower. Rack city.

This vine had taken over several of the azalea bushes. Got most of it out by the roots.

The azaleas in the north part of my yard look a lot better, too. I trimmed out all the little shrubs trying to take over the area.

Mighty hard to push.

I worked on eliminating all the vines and any dead wood out of the azaleas. Mucho trabajo!

Add more bush to the pit. It’s astonishing how fast these things break down.

Hardest job by far was mulching the leaves. I ran out of gas. I’ll have to finish tomorrow.

Then I’ll have to start on the back yard. Looks challenging.

I am astonished how hard I can push that lawnmower. All that lifting weights in the morning has really made a difference. And the biking! My legs just don’t really get tired.
I hauled a lot of bush with stickers.

Productive and sweaty day.

Also blew the driveway and part of the street.

Mulching those leaves makes a huge difference.

Cleaned and filled the bird baths.

In all, I worked out over three hours.

Admin duties now.
I’ll work on Story Tim. I shoot for five chapters a day.

Westside! Bike! Cleaning!

Tim A. Cummins @ 9:54 pm

I edited another five chapters of my book Story Tim.

Mileage day.

Went to Westside BC this morning.

The bulletin cover looked like the inside of the Garden Tomb. He is risen!

Pastor Ben spoke on the resurrection.
One of the girls became a Christian!

Dropped off a terrarium to our local clothes closet.
Went for a 12.92 mile bike ride.

This is the second cell phone I’ve found on the side of the ride in the last couple of weeks.

Came home to wash the pollen off the front of our house and the garage.

Cleaned and hang out fresh hummingbird feeders.

I’ve yet to see one, but something’s drinking the nectar. A year ago today they showed up.
Admin duties now.
