Grandgirls! Wrapping! Plaza Fiesta! 12.20.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 6:46 pm

Can’t say I’m looking forward to that.

OYB!

Español!

School holiday.

Went to the office to check the mail. Got checks and deposited them.

We ate breakfast at Taco Veloz.

Enjoyed churros.

Went to the Dollar Tree to get supplies for wrapping the presents we bought at Goodwill yesterday and some art stuff.

Penelope made an elephant.

Went back to my office to paint and wrap the presents.

They helped me vacuum my office.

Then to Plaza Fiesta.

Pretty miserable weather.

Listened to radio from Spain on the way home.

Grandgirls! Ashley’s Office! Goodwill! Perimeter Mall! 12.19.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:15 pm

I was so happy Argentina won!

I keep working hard. It says 22. It’s actually 39!

Cold!

OYB!

Our Christmas tree is living and gets a little bigger every year!

Up early to work with the Grandgirls! Beautiful sunrise!

The ficus in my office continues to grow as well! She’s over twenty years old.

Always great to be with my little girls!

Deposited checks. Amen!

After eating at Waffle House, we went to visit Ashley at her office. We had a lot of fun and Ashley enjoyed showing off her girls.

Then to Goodwill to look for Christmas presents. I had fun messing with the Santa robot.

We found some things that I think the family will like. The girls got a few small toys, too.

Then to Perimeter Mall. We had fun trying out the colognes. I liked this “Mr. Bones” Santa.

I used to take Ashley shopping here when she was in high school!

Even the restrooms are cool in that mall.

I wanted to go there for the Auntie Anne’s cinnamon sugar pretzels.

I thought these shoes were groovy.

Radio from Spain and new words.

Grandgirls! Doverspike Reception! 12.18.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:27 pm

It’s a religious time of year inncluding Jews.

OBY!

Español!

Grandgirls spent the night with us Saturday evening. Always a blessing.

Super cold.

Kathy, Penelope, Everly and I went to a reception for Sarah Doverspike and her future husband. We had a good time with Kathy’s extended family. Five of the grandchildren were there.

The reception was at the Thornhill community clubhouse.

Looked like a juvenile Sharp-Shinned Hawk.

Watched the highlights of the final for the World Cup with Argentina vs France. They were my two favorite teams. Argentina my favorite won! I’m a super big Lionel Messi fan.

Loved this artwork by Penelope.

Gassed up my car and checked the fluids.

Dropped the girls back off at the Miles’ parent’s house on the way home. Had a good visit with the Kendalls.

Six in the morning wake up call for me for the next three days to watch the grandgirls.

Back! Bills! Board Meeting! 12.17.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:46 pm

Did my brain training last night.

Two days ago I strained my back lifting weights. Didn’t hurt much. This morning I tweaked it more and it hurt pretty badly. Definitely not as bad as it’s been in the past so that’s a blessing.

Español progress!

OYB!

Paid bills.

Brought my carnivorous plants in. Supposed to be a hard freeze tonight.

Walked .77 miles. Back was hurting.

This tree is leaning so much it’s actually starting to pull out of the ground at the base. Glad I don’t live beside it!

We had our annual Whirlwind Missions board meeting tonight. It was a great time with terrific friends. Pastors Bill Cordrey and Greg Cruce were there as well as Pat Barrington, Sandy Defoe and Jon Paul. Ashley brought Penelope and Everly. Kathy came to help with the kids. Amen.

We took Jon back home since he lives near me. We had fun seeing our favorite dog Bella.

Grandgirls spending the night. Little sweethearts.

Cold! Español! Board Prep! Truck! 12.16.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 7:42 pm

Man. This sure is goofy.

This is the second time that I’ve gotten an email from “Paypal” saying that someone has bought $800 worth of product. It’s such a scam! I checked the PayPal phishing (That’s when someone sends you something that looks totally legit in order to get you to tell them a bunch of secure information, like your credit card number.) They are very sophisticated and look real. But PayPal’s website is very specific about not calling or giving any information over the phone.

Always learning new words.

Cold day and going to get a LOT colder next week.

OYB!

Español! Duolingo has changed how they classify lessons. I’m now officially in the Spanish 3 Intermediate level. I know it’s hard.

I like this.

I’ve been getting ready for the Whirlwind annual Board Meeting for a couple of weeks now. Wrote out the schedule for the meeting and set up and made sure that the presentation that Ashley made will work properly.

I haven’t used my Muse brain training device in a while. Tried to get it to read the sensors. Didn’t work. Sent an email to support with pictures of what’s happening.

Got a present in from my Mom for the grandgirls!

Listened to radio from Spain.

Kathy’s truck hasn’t been running well. Took it to T and G and they fixed it today. Cost $348.

Keep on working.

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery called, “Pieces of Me.” Excellent.

Bank! Azalea! 12.15.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:45 pm

I did a speed test between my iPhone and my Mac. One uses an ethernet cable the iPhone just uses wifi. What a difference!

I enjoy listening to music when I’m playing games. This is new and really good.

FINALLY looks like we got the bi-weekly auto debit for my mortgage set up. Took me eight times to go to the bank to get it done.

OYB!

Español! Walk!

Called my insurance agent about my medical insurance cards. He told me everything was fine. Sure enough, our cards came in this evening.

Glad to hear that the team is looking forward to coming! I’ll be going to their church in January for their missions conference. I’ll be speaking to the team as well.

The apartments across from Azalea continue to rise up.

Deposited a check I picked up last night at my office.

The girls enjoyed doing some art projects.

I liked what they did.

Everly made a birthday card for our neighbor Angela. Her daughter Natalia is in Everly’s class.

Checked the mail at my office. Processed the checks and deposited them this evening. TWO bank runs today. Amen.

I saw an owl at the church. Sadly, too dark for my camera to focus on well.

I continue to push forward. The guy in #2 looks like he could be a serious challenger. Like I’ve said before, I really just shoot for 10,000 points a week. If that’s enough to win, so be it.

Bank! Podcast! Mission! 12.14.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:20 pm

OYB!

Español!

Cold and drizzly. Not zesty.

Went to the bank to deposit checks. Amen.

Heard from a team that’s coming.

Learning new words in English.

Makes sense.

Had a good talk with my Mom.

Finished the second book. Started the third.

Went to my office to check the mail.

They are shooting a movie in Doraville. They’re using the parking lot and fellowship hall at FBCD for the crew. These tents usually mean where they’re shooting.

Got some treats for the Board meeting on Saturday. Also loaded the slide show Ashley sent on my Mac. I’ll hook it all up and practice with it on Friday. I still need to write a schedule for the meeting.

My new camera case came in. My old one did its job. I checked on Amazon and it lasted a little over a year.

Recorded a new episode of Verbal Surgery called “New Old.” Excellent.

Español! Anthony! Gift! Azalea! 12.13.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:36 pm

K and I have had shots for Covid 19, Omicron variants, flu shot and shingles shots.

My camera case is about worn out. Decided I’d better get a new one before it tore off my belt. That’s not zesty.

Cooler and cloudy all day.

OYB!

Español! Walked 1.08 miles and .98 miles.

Had a good chat with my buddy Anthony.

Listened to radio from Spain.

Liked this fence.

Went to the Post Office to mail a gift of Vietnamese coffee to my Mom. After mailing, I discovered a new option on Amazon that would have saved a little money. However, I would have had to buy five bags! I thought buying her three bags was a bit much since she’s coming to see us in February!

I enjoyed eating at the German Bakery. Sublime bear claw.

Most of the kids don’t have homework this week. They are taking a lot of tests at school instead. Still a few!

Movie being filmed in our area.

Working hard. It’s paying off. The last couple of days while listening to radio from Madrid, I seemed to be picking out a lot more words. Amen.

Español! Black! Azalea! Bank! 12.12.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:52 pm

I’ve been reading the news on BBC Mundo. Getting a lot of vocabulary words.

Finished #3 last week. Tough competition for sure.

Español!

I was walking and studying Spanish and my iPhone kept going kind of dim. I decided to turn the brightness all the way down and then turn it back up to see it that would help. Unfortunately, and to my great chagrin, when I turned the light all the way down it was completely black. I couldn’t see the inputs at all. That’s not good. Eventually, I tried to turn it off to reset it, but I couldn’t the the cursor I was supposed to slide to turn it off. So bizarre. Finally, I realized I hadn’t gotten it to restart. Then just imagined the button and did the clicks and it turned it back light again. The body knows more than the mind. My hand just “knew” what to do.

It sure did freak me out.

Good walk.

The county is cutting tree limbs around from the power lines. They won’t mess with my little trees.

Listened to radio from Spain: Cadena Ser.

Twice today I had issues while I was taking my timed tests on Duolingo. This morning I turned my phone completely dark, and this afternoon I started working and suddenly Duolingo started acting really wonky, crashing over and over and super slow. Not zesty. On the way home I stopped and did one more fifteen minute lesson where the phone signal was five bars. Program worked fine.

Helped the kids with their homework. Middle schoolers have projects due. Mainly, it’s just blatant cut and paste from the internet. They don’t even know what some of the words mean.

Checked the mail at my office. Also picked up my video projector for the board meeting this Saturday.

Picked up some instant Vietnamese coffee for my Mom.

Deposited checks.

The buildings across from Azalea continue to rise. Six floors in all.

Went to the bank to deposit checks.

Beautiful sunset.

This looked like a bright planet. Weird how visible and super shiny.

Glorious.

My Christmas lights constantly change. They make a meteor effect in a rainbow color scheme.

GPT3! Español-Walk! Podcast! 12.11.22

Tim A. Cummins @ 8:19 pm

Sad to see this.

AI will continue to make a bigger impact in our lives every day.

OYB!

Español-Walk!

Drizzly.

A few places I want to visit some day.

Reading and studying articles in Spanish from the BBC.

Shots from my buddy Jim Pirtle’s bar in Houston.

Looks like I’ll still make the top three this week. I’d kind of forgotten just how good some people are!

Released a new episode of Verbal Surgery called, “Child Like.”
